I. Am. In. Love.

Her voice.

The way she moves her hands so gracefully like she's manipulating some kind of spiritual energy.

The way she spins and runs and skips around the stage, she is all over that stage, and when she spins, her long, flies read hair flies around her head at top speed and becomes part of the aesthetic of the dance itself. It's hard to explain verbally. But it looks so cool to me.

The way she is small and delicate yet has this powerful voice that seems to come from deep inside and the themes she sings about come from that same depth.

The way she asked everyone to hold hands to raise collective consciousness (lol), and then embrace the people around them. The speech she gave about the good we all try to mattering, even the smallest of things, rasing global consciousness starts with individuals, and hope is an action so keep doing the good you can. It may sound cheesy, but I sure as heck ate all that up.

The way, halfway through the show, she started talking the bags under her eyes and the way she keeps seeing when she accidentally looks at the giant TV screens that were on either side of her while she was singing (humility! self depricating humor!)

And I loved the parts where the audience clapping became part of the actual background for the song, such as in Dog Days Are Over...that rhythm that you hear that goes "clap-clap (rest) clap. clap-clap (rest) clap." Yeah, that was fun to do. So all in all, a good concert. I was mesmerized by her beauty and her way and it makes me want to be a better person.

Thanks for reading my ramble!
Now I wanna know how her singing sounds

Cosmic Love! (link to a YouTube video)

Lyrics:

A falling star fell from your heart
And landed in my eyes
I screamed aloud,
As it tore through them,
And now it's left me blind

The stars, the moon,
They have all been blown out
You left me in the dark

No dawn, no day,
I'm always in this twilight
In the shadow of your heart

And in the dark,
I can hear your heartbeat
I tried to find the sound

But then it stopped,
And I was in the darkness,
So darkness I became

The stars, the moon,
They have all been blown out
You left me in the dark

No dawn, no day,
I'm always in this twilight
In the shadow of your heart

I took the stars from our eyes,
And then I made a map
And knew that somehow I could Find my way back

Then I heard your heart beating, You were in the darkness too
So I stayed in the darkness with you

The stars, the moon,
They have all been blown out
You left me in the dark
No dawn, no day,
I'm always in this twilight
In the shadow of your heart

The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out
You left me in the dark

No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight
In the shadow of your heart

Shake it Out! (not the Taylor Swift song, its a different song) YouTube vid

Regrets collect like old friends
Here to relive your darkest moments
I can see no way, I can see no way

And all of the ghouls come out to play
And every demon wants his pound of flesh
But I like to keep some things to myself

I like to keep my issues strong
It's always darkest before the dawn

And I've been a fool and I've been blind
I can never leave the past behind
I can see no way, I can see no way

I'm always dragging that horse around
Our love is pastured, such a mournful sound
Tonight I'm gonna bury that horse in the ground

I like to keep my issues strong
But it's always darkest before the dawn

Shake it out, shake it out...

And it's hard to dance with the devil on your back, so shake him off...

And I am done with my graceless heart,
Tonight I'm gonna cut it out and then restart

I like to keep my issues strong
It's always darkest before the dawn...

Thanks! I couldn't believe we got to go. Never Let Me Go is one of my favorites too. The imagery of the water and being underwater in her songs is so gripping and mesmerising! I don't know the other one but I will lol.

I got the pleasure to see Florence and the Machine at the St Jerome's Laneway Festival here in Brisbane in 2010. It was an awesome show despite it being in an outdoor tent and the steamy humidity had everyone, especially the performers, sweating.

The line-up was epic!
Line-up: Bachelorette, Black Lips, Chris Knox and The Nothing, Cut Off Your Hands, Daniel Johnston, Dappled Cities, Dirty Three, Echo & the Bunnymen, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Florence and the Machine, Hockey, Kid Sam, N.A.S.A., Midnight Juggernauts, Mumford & Sons, Radioclit, Sarah Blasko, Street Chant, The 3Ds, The Middle East, The Naked and Famous, The Very Best, The xx, Warpaint, Whitley, Wild Beasts

Mumford & Sons right off the plane from England, Sarah Blasko, The Middle East, The Dirty Three, Eddie Current Supression ring.... yeah it was a rocking good day with Florence finishing it off!

Sounds like a great show!

I like it that other people know who Florence and the Machine is too...I wasn't sure if that many people would know of her, because it's seems like she's in a special niche...I am pleasantly suprised! :)
