So I've never been good with colours. Sometimes, I have absolutely horrible taste and I know it. In creating my group, Toryn, I have come across the problem of finding it hard to get a colour scheme that is nice to look at.

So this raises my question.

So you believe the colour scheme that Toryn currently has looks nice and is nice to look at? Are there any colour shades that don't work?

I would like to it mostly purple-ish as purple is thought to be a colour of pain and mourning, which is important for the effect
I personally like purple as a color, but it may be a little more difficult to work with since it feels mellow and sweet compared to other colors. I think other cooler colors like (white and blue) might compliment the overall appearance, but maybe even a red or yellow if it’s the right shade, either of which might help keep the page from looking flat or monotone in scheme.

A main color is good, but not a dominating color. The dark purple of the buttons (on the right side) seem to clash pretty harshly to me with the lighter shades surrounding them. The same may be so for the colors of the realm names (this too I think may be fixed by picking different shades of the same color they already are, and maybe a different font as well).

Experiment a little bit and see if you can find some mixes that look better than the last!

That's all I got, hope it helps a little. :)

That's already a very nice looking group!

The one issue I have with it is the URL hover colour. I'd recommend an extremely light purple or straight white.

I'm not very good at colour schemes either, so I often browse the pallets on COLOURlovers for inspiration.
Personally I like the scheme though I agree with United on one thing--the dark of the buttons is jarring next to the light shades surrounding them.
