The Juusan are an unique elite group of samurai underneath the falling Tokugawa Shogunate, unable to change the winds of time these 13 individuals will die facing their personal demons and the enemies of the Shogunate. This is their story and their death.
Setting: 1865 Edo, Japan
Fallen Blossoms is a historical fiction rp about a group of samurai's last few years in service to the shogunate. My goal would be to see them to their end, but even if it doesn't last that long I do want the story to have a clear ending from the start, our characters will die. Will they die heroes? To be remembered in folk tales and songs? Or villains rightfully cut down by the Meiji's restoration to power?
This is their story. Our story. Your story.
The Juusan are a group of oddballs and misfits among the samurai class, so feel free to make your character unique as long as it can somewhat fit into the setting.
Characters must have a weak spot somewhere. Is your character the strongest man in Japan? Maybe he's not as deft with a blade or is absolutely useless in a ranged fight. Is your character a sniper trained in Jaeger warfare from Germany? Maybe she's practically a wet noodle in a sword fight. You get the deal. Being a 'loner' isn't a valid flaw to be good at everything.
Historical Fiction: For me and for this rp historical fiction means that it is somewhat realistic, being that there are no magic powers, no demons, no angels, etc. However that DOESN'T mean your characters aren't badass. Remember the first sentences you are an elite group. I want you guys to be really cool samurai so we're going to use movie logic to a sense, you could absolutely beat down 6 unskilled ronin in the middle of the street at high noon, you're Juusan.
I would like this to take place on discord, I've already made it, and I would like, with permissions of course, to post a weekly synopsis of what is happening in our game. I feel like it would be fun.
As the title says I'm looking for a medium to large sized group, even if we don't manage to get all 12 other people I'd be happy with more than one.
Submit characters via PM, even if you don't have a proper character sheet we can work things out as long as you fully explain your character.

I’m intrigued; is this a group RP, then? Also, if I tuned down my character’s powers (aka erased them for the RP), would they be allowed?
