I love buttons/pins, I always have but didn't get quite as obsessed with them until I started doing NaNoWriMo.
NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month, it's technically international now, but it's an event in the month of November where your goal is to write 50,000 words in one month, which is the smallest a book can be and be considered a novel and not a novella.
Basically in my specific area it's a huge thing, there's a lot of people who do it, so the leaders have been able to set up lots of 'writing events' where during the month of November we meet up and all write while sitting together, talk about our stories if we can't and play fun little writing games to help our creativity and productivity.
We can earn buttons/pins and stickers through various events and little playful competition sort of things. I really love all by buttons I got last year, and want to show them all because I'm a dork and love just pulling them out and looking at them.
So below is a photo of all my buttons from NaNo and a few from other things. I couldn't find all of them but these are the ones that managed to stay in my little box I have them in.
The buttons along the bottom of peoples faces are buttons that were made of the 'minions' aka the leaders of my NaNoWriMo Region, they set up and organize all the events/write ins, and make all the 'swag' that you get for participating in things. They work incredibly hard and I am super grateful for them.
