I've been inactive the past couple of weeks because they've been a absolute whirlwind of craziness and I'm honestly SO DONE at this point. I mean, it's mostly good stuff in the long run but I'm tired and in pain and haven't been sleeping well so I'm over it lol.
Since late 2018, I've been dealing with a breast lump. It ended up being two lumps, actually. It's been stressful because while they keep telling me it's not cancer, things keep escalating. I started with a simple mammogram. The results were "odd" so I had to get a biopsy. The results for that were borderline so they told me to come back in 6 months to see how things progressed. So 6 months later, I got a second mammogram and we discovered one of my tumors was growing at an alarming rate - which I probably should have figured because this little hellspawn of a tumor HURTS. Sometimes the pain radiates down my arm and across my back because it gets so bad. This coming from someone who has lived through kidney stones too big to pass and got stuck in my ureter. The benchmark for concern is a growth rate of 20% in 6 months. Mine was over 100%, having more than doubled in size over half a year. So off I went for another biopsy. My doctor called the results "suspicious" and referred me to an oncologist. The oncologist is pretty certain it's not cancer, but said he can't be absolutely sure unless they remove the tumors completely for testing. He's concerned I might have something called phyllodes tumors, which are an uncommon tumor that's benign but grows continuously, forever, unless removed. So now I'm having them removed! Which is freaking awesome!! I'm honestly so stoked to finally be cleared for surgery. I'm tired of these stupid things ruining my day, every single day. But I'm gonna owe the hospital a good chunk of money because this is America and our healthcare programs are joke. I'm lucky enough to have a decent insurance but owing what amounts to two months of rent is pretty lame. I've been reaching out to every community I'm part of for help. I understand most people have their own financial strains, but it never hurts to ask for help, right?
tl;dr: I've got tiddy tumors that hurt like hell but I'm finally getting them removed! But this is America so I need funds.
