Aw, you folks participating for the first time are in for a blast. It's always a ton of fun!
And don't worry about being confused - like Kim and Darth explain in the documentary, some things about Epic Week stay the same year to year, and some things change. No person is on a better footing than another, and - most importantly - no single person can 'solve' any part of Epic Week by themselves. We all win (or lose
) together. It really is a community event!
Besides that, I'm sure there'll be plenty of helpful posts abounding from folks to help iron out the confusion, once the exact nature of Epic Week 2018 becomes a little more clear.

I'm still a bit confused, but it sounds exciting! I joined this a month ago, and I'm loving this site! 
This is gonna be my very first Epic Week and i cant wait!! 
Im so soo SSOOOoo excited for it!! And yea i do also wish i had discovered this site much sooner so that i could had joined in on all the fun of the previous Epic Weeks. Also i fricking love how the themes/main goals of Epic Week is continious or similar from last year, makeing it into one long experince instead of being random every year that has no connection with each other at all.
I am so excited to see whats gonna happen this year and i am gonna do all i can to help, no matter what it is! ^^

8th epic week already!? It's actually hard to believe that RPR is 8 years old because it seems like just yesterday I signed up for this "awesome new role-playing site" (as described by the friend who introduced me to RPR, boy was he ever right). 7 years later and I won't roleplay anywhere else
Epic week is my favorite time on RPR. It's always a great time no matter what it is you're doing to contribute - oh my god there's so many awesome ways to do so. I never participate because I'm not an artist, but my favorite contest is the finding mascots ^^ I love seeing what all the site's talented artists come up with.

I'm really excited to see what Epic week is like, and I can only mourn over the fact that I've only discovered RPR recently! I'm so pumped, for it has been ages since I participated in a group Role-play activity. Also, brilliant, brilliant, brilliant work on the documentary, Darth Angelus! You, and everyone else who participated, nailed it!
You like solving puzzles with the power of teamwork? Awesome! There's something for you! You like adventuring and finding hidden clues and loot? Cool! There's things for you! You like bashing things over the head with an Alien Honor Blade? Oh boy, there's things for you! You like *winning things*? (Of course you do!) There's a whole bunch of things for you!

This is going to be fun and perfect for us all.
I've always described Epic Week as a site-wide holiday. For a week we run contests, raffles, and have intricate minigames that bring the entire site together to work toward a common goal. It really spotlights how great of a community we have. Plus, you can get some pretty sweet profile decorations!
I am really excited man!
As for describing it? A fun, riddle-filled adventure in celebration of the Site's birthday with heaps of different contests to enter and prizes to win!
