Alright, I'll stop the "this is better than RPR" comparison after this, promise :P

Pop-ups generally are annoying, but on some boards you'd get a little pop-up notice in one of the corners if someone responded to a post or sent you a PM. It was actually a nice little feature if you aren't watching your activity feeds or email (either or, depending upon the options you use) like a hawk. And completely optional, of course; if one were annoyed by it, they could just shut it off in their options menu.

I know this site isn't primarily an RP forum, but if the option was there it'd be nifty. Not sure how it'd be programmed, though; I know some code but not enough to be confident in making this sort of thing ^^;.

I've seen this sort of thing on other forums, especially those running on the Vanilla forum software. I'm not sure how I'd go about programming it. That is, I have like 50 ideas, but not sure which one would be the best and what trade-offs I'd be willing to make. Needs study.

Also needs to be behind other priorities, le sigh! :(

Hah, that's alright x3

The activity list is something I don't see in most other places. Works more as an overview of everything rather than "hey this needs to be looked at right nao!".

PS: If I double-post, I'm sorry; the Wifi on this laptop is being a bag of dicks again and won't consistently load pages, and may put something through but not tell me ~.~

If you double post, you've found a bug! There is a double post catcher that should prevent it in 99.9% of cases. :)

Nah, it's a Windows 8 laptop...
^explains everything .__.

Well, either it's working or the "Post Reply" button doesn't get through the second time because I'm not seeing any double-posts. Which is good. Yay.

Yeah... your operating system won't affect how RPR's scripts run. :) So no worries, you're safe.

Wasn't really worried about the scripts; it's the Wi-fi that's the issue, which isn't related to this site at all ~.~ Microsoft screwed the pooch on W8 laptops, so the wi-fi doesn't work like it's supposed to. It's not just mine either - a bunch of them have similar issues, but for whatever reason the one on mine just refuses to be fixed.
One of my housemates has Windows 8, and his WiFi seems to work better than mine or my boyfriend's.

What Heimdall is trying to say is that your Wifi issues will not create doubleposts on RPR. Before a message is saved into the database, the site checks if your last post to the thread is the same as the new one it's trying to add. If they're the same, the message will be rejected by the server and you get a message letting you know you had a double post.

That's totally unrelated to your wifi. Even if it messes up and you submit something twice accidentally, the site makes sure that it's posted only once. :)
