A place to discuss what our rp world will be like!! From what little we discussed on the other forum, there is a good chance this will be a futuristic rp, with elements of fantasy of course.

Right, so I've been thinking, and will the roleplay be on a futuristic earth, in a planet of the solar system, or...?

Suppose it doesn't matter the planet?

Well, I don't know. It doesn't matter for me, its just so I can start with my plotting

Hmm... I'd say in terms of planet, using a different planet offers some more flexibility in terms of climate or resources, but then again, I don't entirely know how far the Alternate Earth label stretches before it ceases to be Alternate Earth. Using Earth or an Alternate version of it gives a bit more familiarity and a base to start on. *shrugs*

Perhaps... It could be a completely secluded made-up planet that doesn't believe in aliens (from outside said planet), but has many... Unusual species, that might be similar to creatures of folk-lore? Just a thought.

Indeed. We could always use other planets as a go to, but have the rp's base on Earth?

Also, how exactly do you propose on using the technology? For example, would there be star wars tech, or something more low-escale?

Mm. I'd say scale back at least a little from Star Wars tech. That's like, super high tech and would in fact allow for multiple planets, which unless we want multiple planets, will be a lot of work.

Hmm. So how about 2200, or something? Not that far, but already with some tech...

Well, okay yeah I don't wanna base this thing off of like...star wars or something. Say we base it off of earth, but Earth that many years from now would probably be pretty different climate wise as well along with what species are alive and stuff so there is still a LOT we could do

Yeah. And if it's an Alternate Earth you can assume that other species could've evolved to be intelligent/sentient aside from humans and other currently existing species.

Yes, quite so. The dolphins, maybe? Or the mice? ( bonus points if you get the reference...)

Now seriously, I don't know: I think by then holographic tech could already have been mastered? Also, the eletric cars? And probably much more world pollution. Global warming. Floods...

Well that all depends on how well future world leaders handle stuff. Whether they started to actually pay attention or not, maybe a natural disaster of some sort happened and they were kinda like "crap we gotta do something"
or maybe not
Also depends on how fast the earth advanced.

You also have to consider whether or not there was a war between now and then that would change things greatly. Lowering total world population would potentially change things a lot.

Well, we have to consider the roleplay. Do you guys want something apocalyptic, an alien invasion, or something with more plots and stories?

Well, taking Earth's size into consideration. One part of the world could be in an apocalypse or crisis, while the other isn't. Theoretically speaking, at least.

That could very easily create plot by itself, one part of the world facing total annihilation while the other world isn't.
It could go anywhere from the other part of the world wont help and maybe some people are pissed, or they are trying to help but its proving difficult

Hmm, that's interesting. Speaking of which, which continent do you want to base the roleplay in? Do you want to make a fictional city (That would be interesting, actually...hmm.) or use actual ones?

Well I think that a lot of places would of been renamed by now. So some places might be different but others not so much. Not to mention, cultures would be very different at this point as well. The earth's....layout in general, might even be different depending on how far into the future we go.
