Aiko looked at Grace, his ears flattened, and he held her close.In a way, a small part of him believed the mistress crying was his fault..yet he still tried to comfort her.
"Aiko." Grace called from below him. "You love me, right?" She asked a question she thought sounded a bit stupid, which she didn't like to do.
Aiko looked down at her hearing her say his name."Of course love you" he said."I'll love you until the day I die, and I'll love you beyond that.." he said.
"Would you do anything to hurt me?" She asked, still crying a little bit.
"Never.." he said.
"Then why won't she just leave you alone!" She screamed into his shirt, tears still streaming out of her eyes.
"Because" he said, "I broke the family blood chain thing, and ...I'm different.." he said to the mistress. He ruined all of the grsndmothers plans.
"But I don't care about that! If I'm going to have children and be married, it should be with someone I love! Not someone I didn't want to marry in the first place!" She said.
Aiko went silent a moment before saying, "well, your married now. And she can't pester you to marry Douglas" he pointed out,,
Grace sniffled for the last time. "Thats true. Meaning she has no say in what I do anymore." She said triumphantly, feeling better already.
"Besides, I may not be the right person to say this, but you are an adult after all, shouldn't 'adults' be able to make their own decession?" He pointed out. Usually once people surpassed 18 they began making their own decession, and savor their freedom from Being told what to do.
Grace removed her head from his shirt. "You know what? Your right! I don't know why I never realized this before, but she has no right to tell me what to do anymore! I'm not a child anymore!" Grace said, smiling as the last few tears fell from her eyes.
"Keep in mind, I'm not telling you to be a rebel against her" he said.Meaning if her grandmother needed something to do it for her, but if it was a mean or cruel thing, stop her and don't help her.
"I know. If she needs my help I won't deny her of it, but if she tries to get me to divorce you I won't do it." Grace told him, meaning every word she said.
Aiko nodded, and smiled at her."Good kitty" he told her looking her in the eyes.He wanted the mistress to be happy, and it seemed she was.
"Nya." Grace said, smiling at him. She was glad he was here for her in these events. If he wasn't, she really didn't think she'd have many options. It was kind of hard to talk to Emily about these issues because she was always busy, and Alyssa wasn't good at conversations about people who threatened the mistress without threatening to do bad things to them.
Aiko tilted his head still smiling, "nya..." he said adorably. Almost like a child.He was always here to make her feel better. A natural habit of his, and the fact he loved her made him went to try harder at it.
Hope smiled seeing the two of them so happy. "I think I speak for me and my husband when I say that we're glad that you were the one to marry grace, aiko. You really are one of the kindest people I've ever met."
Aiko looked up at Hope hearing her begin to speak.Still smiling he said "thank you" to her.That meant a lot to him coming from Hope.
Bryan materialized next to his wife. "Is she gone? I'm dead and I'm still tired of hearing her voice." He said, obviously not fond of his mother in law. Hope giggled and she looked at her husband. "Yes, she's gone. I've never understood why you and my mother could just never seem to get along."
