For those of you wondering how this answer could be arrived at, here's a quick explanation.
In the Lower Decks episode "No Small Parts" (Season 1, Episode 10) Commander Ransom mentions that it's always weird to visit planets from "the TOS era" which basically anyone watching would take to be a reference to The Original Series. However, when asked in show what he means, he explains it's his own term for "Those Old Scientists" from the 2260s. This acronym is actually used again in this way on the Lower Decks/Strange New Worlds crossover episode.
