Aervin Andres (played by mk_97)

"Ah, crap." The peace in the park wouldn't last, as Aervin, too, heard the commotion nearby. Local police forces had joined up to gain a hold of the area, and Aervin would be a sitting duck if he didn't get out of there.

He pushed himself feet first out from underneath the table, eventually emerging fully, all of his clothes still intact, though stained. His bruised facial expression and such became calm, in the middle of analyzing and internalizing the events going on around him. How odd, how significant this person, or these two people were. The winged girl was frightened, no doubt. Perhaps she didn't trust him. 'Twas reasonable.

Then the older woman mentioned 'hunters'. Aervin was intrigued by the admission, but before he could ask anything adequate, such as "Wait, someone's trying to find out what makes you tick?!" or "You have mutant powers, too?!", she was gone.

Immediately Aervin crouched as they vanished, having seen one or two antagonistic authority figures near one of the park entrances. He'd have to act fast before they spotted him. Perhaps there were others behind him, too?

He turned. Two more officers who hadn't looked towards his position yet.

And...how serendipitous! A tree bent towards a fence, leading to the sidewalk.

There was but one way out of here, he decided. Walstrom would have to wait- the girls were trouble enough to warrant further investigation.
Revy (played by Caustic)

She was so concentrated on her work that Revy didn't notice the snow until she'd cracked the lock. At first she thought it was the start of another blizzard, but the winds didn't pick up, nor did the temperature drop ridiculously low. Chancing a glance at Glaceia, she returned the silly grin, then bent down to pick her up. Maybe the young girl was a bit old to be coddled, but even in her condition Revy could easily heft the child.

Especially since she was, y'know, a ghost and all. An odd one, but still one nevertheless.

The inside was dark, but Revy barely noticed, gently kicking the door closed. In her arms, Glaceia was even chillier than when she was just holding the girl's hand. Actually felt refreshing in her current state, though normally it might give her chills.

There wasn't much within the barbershop, but a bed and cellphone in one corner with some half-eaten snacks laid about indicated that it had been recently lived in. Cardboard and wood were taped or nailed over the windows, but the lights and electricity still worked, and after a minute or two Revy realized it might be best to put both to work before Glaceia got nervous again - assuming she couldn't see in the dark as well as Revy could.

Setting the child on the bed as light flooded the room, Revy picked up her old smarty-phone and began flipping through things. Once she made sure the door was locked (and that something hadn't mysteriously popped up in her e-mailbox) the young woman plopped down next to her new tenant, wrapping an arm around her as she reassured her "Iunno how long ya plan on sticking around, but feel free to stay here if ya wanna. Just... try t' stay inside for now, heh."

In the back of her mind, however, Revy wasn't nearly so calm nor upbeat. She had to figure a way to get this kid - and yeah, probably what's-his-face as well - back to wherever they came from. Keeping them here might... Well, she wasn't sure what would happen in the long-run, but the universe wasn't privy to allowing people to just hop around to wherever (or in Glaceia's case, whenever) they pleased, so it couldn't be good. While orderly travel across normal space was all well and good, hopping between time and - quite possibly - realities was another story entirely. And maybe get that weird guy's stuff back.

Simply put, Revy was way out of her league on that. It was probably about time she called in some long overdue favors. Now where was that address book of hers...

I was worried. And I wasn't generally worried. Not about others, anyways. This was bad. This was awful.

Here I was, lying in a gutter with my nose nearly broken, with a wild monster on the loose, a ghost girl with extremely violent powers, a chaos manipulator who seems to have no idea what the hell she's doing, and Mr. Samurai. And, of course, the guy who threw that granade.

Great. Just great.

It was things like this that made life worth living.

I stood up, switching ocasionally between forms as I advanced slowly through the street, before settling into a pigeon with a mat of bloodied feathers, and flew in the direction of the area the others were in.

The girl probably wouldn't be there, considering the whole sound grenade/guy with swords/police incident happening. And the ghost kid would have gone with her.

But it was worth a try. Mucking around with time and space is always a bad thing*, and the monster that knocked me to the wall...he'd be on the prowl, and everytime the Manipulator acted...he'd be closer.

*I don't muck around. Obviously. I cross it. With finesse.
Glaceia (played by Katia)

Glaceia started giggling when she was picked up and gave Revy a tight hug. She then looked around inside the room Revy had brought them into with no difficultly as the dark was of no concern for this ghost. When the lights were turned on, Glaceia became instantly enthralled by the glowing light bulbs. It was the first time she had ever seen a light bulb as it would be centuries until they would exist in her time period. So naturally she was curious about them and floated up to them in order to get a better look. The little ghost then attempted to touch them, but stopped before actually doing so due to the heat the bulb was generating. Even more curious about the lights now, she floated down to Revy and started to tuck at her while pointing at the lights.

"What are those bright and pretty thingies? Glaceia never see those thingies before."

"Excuse me ma'am, which way did that man go?"

"That-a-way!" The young woman, dressed like a stereotypical witch, pointed towards the alley that Aervin ran through earlier. "He went left at the end!"

"Thanks," said the officer, before taking off on foot. Several other uniformed men joined him, guns and batons drawn.

Several seconds later, the door next to the woman swung open with a mighty thud!, and Aervin, coat and all, ran out, dashing like mad, parallel towards the park, towards his intended destination.

Not long after he had jumped from the tree, the cops noticed his presence; thankfully he had a bit of practice finding shortcuts in cities, at least if those parkour-based games and movies were any help. He ran fast, few people watching.

The witch - not really a witch - just stared, dumbfounded. Indifferent, she shrugged.

There was a nearly-dead pigeon floating overhead. Cool, she thought, the birdman's making his birds creepy again. That's a nice zombie-lookin' pigeon if I ever saw one.
Revy (played by Caustic)

** soon-to-be-dated cultural references ftw **

Half-distracted by her contemplation, Revy almost missed Glaceia's question. "Eh? Oh, those!" She couldn't resist a small giggle; it hadn't occurred to her until then that her entourage wouldn't know about such simple things that were taken for granted. Pointing to the line that they were strung up on, Revy noted "Those are light bulbs. Kinda like... erm... candles, but no fire t' worry 'bout. They're powered by electricity comin' from outside the building - like lightning bolts during storms, 'cept much tamer."

Dragging her finger downwards to point at the nearest visible wall socket then to one of the plugs laying around, she continued "An' those are electrical outlets, which ya stick these into. Just don't go stickin' nuthin' else in 'em or it'll zap ya - might even toss ya across the room!" Thankfully, there weren't many things lying around that would fit those tiny wall holes, and it would probably take the girl some effort to actually cause trouble doing the thing she was told not to do.

Plus, it was unlikely to hurt her, being a ghost and all. But it wouldn't be good for the building or the local grid.

Quickly distracting the kid before she got any ideas, Revy patted the seat next to her. "C'mere. Lemme show ya somthin' fun." She had her phone in one hand, just closing the app she had been using. A few quick swipes brought up a colorful screen belonging to a rather popular game - Revy never got it, if only because to her it was simpler than the physics she calculated in her head daily, but somehow it was all the rage anymore. "Here, ya just pull back on the birdy in the slingshot and then lift yer finger to launch 'em at the piggies and their fort things! No, the birdies are fine - they're very hard headed."

Glaceia could - and hopefully would - be gone in a day or two; getting the angelic ghost child hooked on casual gaming was the least of Revonne's worries right now.
