Neriah accepted Jax and his consuming kiss when he jumped onto the stage with her. He tasted like bourbon and trouble, her favorite combination. Though, she was concerned that being claimed so publicly might chase off the luscious pop star she had her eye on. ’ Ce sera sera,’ she thought as she wrapped her arms around Jax’s neck and pulled him in for one of those kisses that would make his brain go blank.
It seemed he intended to sing, and she was going to be accompanying him – good thing she was confident and never shied away from something daring. ”My fine ass is ready to make good on whatever you need.” She was being overly playful and flirting. She wanted the world to want her and what better way to do that than to show everyone just how fun she can be. She kept the mic she had used for her song as Jax picked the song he wanted them to sing.
The music started up and it was a song she was very familiar with. She was already moving to the opening music, getting herself ready to start the song off. She lifted her arms over her head and moved her body in a wave motion.
”It's goin' down, I'm yellin' timber
You better move, you better dance
Let's make a night you won't remember
I'll be the one you won't forget…
She made room for Jax to move up beside her as they would be singing this next part together.
”Ooh, ooh…
Ooh…
Ooh, ooh…
Ooh.”
While Jax rapped Neriah tried to play along with the lyrics. She had never been one to twerk but she certainly turned her back to the crowd, bent over a little and gave her hips a sensual shake. ’Swing your partner ‘round and ‘round.’ While he sang, she danced around him, her hands playing mischievously over his exaggerated abs and tight ass as she spun around him.
”Oh-oh-oh”
When it was her turn to sing again, she spun around and wrapped her arm around his neck.
”It's goin' down, I'm yellin' timber
You better move, you better dance
Let's make a night you won't remember
I'll be the one you won't forget
It's goin' down, I'm yellin' timber
You better move, you better dance
Let's make a night you won't remember
I'll be the one you won't forget..
Woah, woah
Oh-oh
Woah, woah
Oh-oh…”
It was Jax’s turn, taking lead on the and killing the rap sections of the song. He was getting into it, too. Throwing shyness away like an empty solo cup. Because of his inhibited behavior, it made Neriah even more brave. As he sang, ’Swing your partner ‘round and ‘round.’, she moved in front of him, bent over at the hips and moved her ass against his erogenous zone. As she grinds her hips against Jax she looked out into the crowd and tried to make eye contact with Kali.
”Oh-oh-oh..”
Neriah straightened up and turned to give Jax a flirty look as she took over the song for her turn.
”It's goin' down, I'm yellin' timber
You better move, you better dance
Let's make a night you won't remember
I'll be the one you won't forget
It's goin' down, I'm yellin' timber
You better move, you better dance
Let's make a night you won't remember
I'll be the one you won't forget…”
As the song started to go into the closure of the song Neriah just gave into the urge to dance. She moved like no one was watching. Provocative. Sensual. Hungry!
”Woah, woah…
Oh-oh
Woah, woah
Oh-oh
Woah, woah
Oh-oh
Woah, woah
Oh-oh.”
As the song ended, she felt Jax slide up beside her, she leaned against him. Neriah was all smiles and giddy giggles as Jax promised drinks. ”Line ‘em up, baby, so we can knock ‘em back.”
Jax ran off to the bar, leaving Neriah to exit the stage alone. She headed down the stairs and zeroed in on Kali. Neriah approached, exuding a sense of fun and intrigue. ”Hey!” she was all bubbles and sweetness. ”Great party. Care to grab a drink with me and my friend?”

Kali had seen a lot of entrances in her life, red carpets, stages, spotlight crashes, but this one?
This one took the cake.
The flashing lights from the party bus were enough to draw glances from the bonfire crowd, but it was the woman who stepped out that made Kali pause mid-sip of her drink. All long legs and sin, with an outfit that blurred the line between clubwear and lingerie, she practically radiated the words “bad idea” in the best way. And when her gaze locked with Kali’s?
Damn.
Kali lifted one perfectly sculpted brow, watching the woman lick her lips and eye her like dessert. The pop star let out a soft, amused exhale, her mouth curling into a slow, sultry smile. She didn’t avert her gaze. No, she held it. Let it simmer.
When the woman took the stage? Kali crossed her arms and leaned one hip to the side, making no attempt to hide her interest. She recognized the opening notes instantly. The Corrs. “Breathless.” Not a choice for the timid.
What followed was, to put it mildly, a performance. There was no shy karaoke trembling here. Neriah sang like the mic was her lover and the crowd was her prey. Every move, every lyric, oozed seduction. And Kali?
She didn’t look away once.
When Neriah pointed at her from the stage, singing about temptation and kisses, Kali gave a slow, deliberate clap and tilted her head, acknowledging the aim without surrendering to it.
Then came the man. Shirtless, tattooed, drunk on rhythm and her body, this one moved like he knew how to please. Their chemistry set the stage on fire. The audacity of it was impressive.
As the song came to a grinding, breathless finish, and the two disappeared into whispered promises and bodies pressed close, Kali finally turned toward the fire, amused and thoroughly entertained. She gave a low, playful whistle.
Then, in classic Kali fashion, she raised her drink in their direction and said aloud with a grin, voice dancing over the crowd:
“Well damn. That was either the start of a hookup or a crime of passion waiting to happen. I’ll drink to either.”
She turned slightly and noticed a few new faces gathered closer to the firelight. One in a light dress, elegant, clean, too poised to be local. The other, all curves and mystery in a slinky blue gown. Kali didn’t know either of them, but no one got to stay on the edges unnoticed.
She approached with easy charm, her voice bright but unmistakably flirty. “Welcome to The Drift. I’m Kali.” She extended a hand to each in turn, eyes lingering with open curiosity. “You two look way too composed for the chaos we’ve got going on here, but I’m glad you came.”
Then, spotting Ladon still lingering just beyond the circle, humming something that sounded like Venom, she called out with a grin:
“Yo! Eminem in the shadows. You joining us, or just setting the vibe back there?” She gave him a playful wink before turning back to the newcomers.
“If you’re planning to sing, the bar’s open, the stage is yours, and the rule’s simple: No regrets. Just rhythm and guts.”
Kali raised her glass again, laughter warm in her throat. This night just kept getting better.
