Responding to Yuki:
Yuki looked over the seat at Dani. She wasn't sure if they were mad or wanted her to keep an eye on her puppet pal. If it was the latter, Dani wasn't really sure what she was supposed to do to stop Mr. Purple's shenanigans if he tried any.
Mr. Purple was trying to read the situation, too.
"What," he demanded. Dani just narrowed her eyes and glared at him as if to say don't even think about it.
When the puppet asked about sewing his head back on to his body, Dani shook her head.
"Even if I did, it's not like I can fix you while I'm still all tied up," she responded. "You'll just have to wait just like I do."
She turned to look at Yuki who didn't look pleased.
"So, uh, yeah... if we could hurry up and find a place to pull over, that would be great," she urged trying not to sound impatient. Dani really hoped Yuki would drive them somewhere safe and this whole insane situation could finally be over. Mr. Purple didn't appear to be up to anything.

Yuki completely ignored both Dani and Mr. Purple; they were focused on driving. Besides, they didn't need to listen to Dani stating the obvious to know what they should do. Once the car was back in gear, the subsequent drive was peaceful... At least, compared to everything that had happened prior. The wind that came in through the broken windshield - oh, that's why they called it that! - was a bit annoying, but at least now there was nothing much worse going on, and there were hardly any other cars around; anyone who drove by the odd, busted-up purple cab either didn't notice or didn't care to stop and wonder what was going on.
Yuki drove for a few minutes, keeping an eye out for the first secluded place that they could pull the car over. Fortunately, it didn't take too long to find something, and soon they were stopping in the parking lot of some old restaurant with a "CLOSED" sign. It was hard to find anywhere completely secluded in a city like this, but this particular spot didn't seem to have any people nearby; it would have to do in a pinch.
...In any case, Yuki was more concerned with helping Dani out of her (literal) bind than saving her from potential embarrassment or awkwardness. If anyone did happen to witness what was going on, well, so be it.
With the car parked and out of the way of further incidents, Yuki opened the driver's side door and got out, then opened the back door. They had had a few minutes to compose themself and there face was back to its misleadingly blank expression; they once again appeared completely apathetic, even though that wasn't how they actually felt.
The first thing they did was glance at Dani, just to make sure she was still doing fine, or as fine as she could be, all things considered. Then, they picked up their notebook and pen, which had once again ended up on the floor at some point during the drive. They wrote a quick message, then held it up for Dani to read.
"I'm going to free you now."
Because they didn't want to just reach for her without warning.

Responding to Yuki:
Dani sensed that Yuki was highly annoyed. She didn't blame them. After a moment, Yuki put the car in gear and they began to continue on. Dani decided to keep quiet for now. It wasn't like Yuki could answer her and she didn't want to carry on a one-sided conversation. Yuki's notebook was in the back of the car out of reach and there was no way for her to pick it up and give it to them. Besides, they couldn't write messages while they were driving, anyway. There had been enough distracted driving and close calls already. Oddly, Mr. Purple was also quiet for the rest of the short trip.
A few minutes later, there was an old abandoned diner up ahead. It didn't look like it had been opened in years and the sign on the door read "closed". There was also a big "For Lease" sign over the faded sign in the parking lot covering up the restaurant's old name. Yuki pulled the car over and got out. He opened Dani's door and peered in at her. It was hard to read his expression. She hoped he was going to finally untie her.
Yuki didn't reach for her immediately, but instead leaned across her and retrieved the notebook and pen from the floor and wrote a note. He then held it up for her to read: I'm going to free you now.
Dani breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you," she said. "It will probably be easier if you undo the seat belt first and then untie my ankles. Then I can get out of the car and stand up."
Assuming he did, she stepped out carefully. Dani didn't have her hands to help her balance or catch herself if she fell. Her feet had been tied together all day so this was the first time she stood up in hours. Once out, Dani quickly moved around the car so it was blocking the view of her from the road. There were no cars coming but she didn't want to take any chances of someone seeing her.

Yuki decided that they might as well follow Dani's suggestions, so after tucking their notebook and pen securely into a pocket of their pants, they unbuckled her seatbelt first before moving on to the bonds securing her ankles. It took them a little while longer than either they or Dani would have liked to actually untie the knots, but they worked as quickly as they could until she was freed.
They watched Dani stand and get out of the car, ready to assist if she stumbled or fell. Once she was standing up and had positioned herself so that the car blocked her from the view of anyone on the road, Yuki joined Dani and began working on freeing her arms; soon enough, that was done as well.
With the job done and Dani freed, Yuki stepped back and smiled.

Responding to Yuki:
Yuki began to untie Dani's arms after she was out of sight of passing traffic. It took several more minutes to unwind the rope around her upper body. Eventually, it was loose enough that Yuki could slide it down her legs and she stepped over the tangled mess once it was on the ground around her ankles. Finally, he untied some thinner cord used to bind her wrists. He stepped back and smiled.
Dani immediately threw her arms around him and gave him a big hug. "My hero," she gushed. She released the embrace after a moment and reached up and removed the cloth dangling from her neck. "Finally, free at last!"
Dani stretched and rubbed the red marks on her wrists for a moment. She turned back to Yuki. "Okay, I'll drive. Where was it you were trying to get to," She asked waiting for them to pull out the notebook and write the destination down. Then, she moved to the driver side door, opened it and brushed a few pieces of glass off of the seat with the cloth that had been tied over her mouth and got in and switched the meter off.
"There won't be any charge for this," she promised.

Yuki tensed within the sudden embrace, though it was more out of surprise than being particularly upset or uncomfortable. They awkwardly returned the hug, and relaxed when it was over. However, despite Dani's kind offer to drive them wherever they wanted, they were hesitant to accept, and wrote a note expressing this after retrieving the pen and little book from their pocket.
"Are you sure you're alright with driving after being tied up for so long? And aren't you worried that we will get pulled over for driving a damaged vehicle? It might be best to contact a friend or parent and have them pick us up instead."

Responding to Yuki:
Dani paused and read Yuki's note. She thought about it for a moment. Other than being a little stiff and sore from spending the last few hours of being tied up, she was fine.
However, Yuki made a valid point. They did run the risk of being pulled over by the police with a damaged windshield. More concerning than that, Dani still had no idea where Mr. Purple had gotten this taxicab and that was a problem. Having had her hands tied behind her back the past few hours, she didn't want to now end up in handcuffs in the backseat of a police car if she got arrested for driving a stolen car.
"You know what? Yeah. Yeah, I think we should call someone instead," Dani agreed. She got back out of the car and shut the door. Who could she call? Her friend Danny had a green bug but it hadn't been running in ages. The two of them took the bus everywhere. Then there was her former bandmate Wendy.... but they had a falling out and there was a lot to explain.
"I'll call an Uber," She offered pulling out her phone. I'll pay. Where are we heading," she asked.

"I was planning to go to the aquarium." Yuki explained in their usual written way. "You can join me if you want, or just have the driver drop me off there while you go do your own thing." They shrugged, to emphasize that they didn't mind either way. If Dani wanted to look at fish and things with them, that might be nice, but they'd certainly understand if she wanted to go somewhere else, or even just go home for the day.
In all honesty, the day's ordeal had them a bit wary of Uber drivers and all other similar sorts to taxi drivers... But the more they thought about it, the more they realized they probably couldn't ask their parents for help unless they wanted to: 1. Worry their parents sick by asking to be picked up out of the blue (Yuki almost never did this and their overprotective parents would think it was an emergency. Which it sort of was, but Yuki still didn't want to make them worry...) or 2. Do a lot of exhausting explaining. And Yuki didn't really have any friends... At least... Not in this dimension.
So they'd settle for this Uber idea for now, and then vow to never, ever get in a taxi or Uber ever again after this day... As long as they could avoid it.

Replying to Yuki:
As Dani was reading Yuki's message, the cab started up and circled the pair. It pulled up next to Dani and the window rolled down. Mr. Purple's head was on the dash. His body was back in the driver seat.
"Hey, hey, hey! You don't need to drive or to call an Uber," Mr. Purple said. "Mr. P. is back on the job! Hop in and we'll be on our way! I'm not going to let a cracked window stop me. We have an aquarium to get to!"

Responding to Yuki:
"No, Mr. Purple, I'm not getting back in that death trap and neither is Yuki. Park it. We're taking an Uber," Dani retorted.
She turned back to Yuki. "You know what? I'd love to join you. After what we've been through, looking at some fish sounds relaxing," Dani replied. "I hear there is a really nice little cafe inside. My treat, I'll even cover the admission, too."

Yuki smiled slightly when Dani agreed to visit the aquarium with them, and they nodded in agreement when she mentioned the café. Yuki loved that café.
"I think we should split the cost. But we can worry about that later. I need to get my backpack before the crazy puppet tries driving away or something." Yuki wrote this quickly and a bit more scribbly than their other messages, because it had just occurred to them that they had carelessly left their precious backpack on the backseat. They had planned to retrieve it, of course, but now they were suddenly worried that Mr. Purple would start driving away, instead of parking like Dani had ordered him to do.

Responding to Yuki:
Yuki suddenly remembered he had left his backpack in the car. Dani frowned. Mr. Purple apparently had learned nothing from their little adventure.
He seemed happy when Yuki opened the cab door thinking they were going to ride with him after all.
"There we go, we still gotta get ya to the fish place," Mr. Purple said. His headless body gave a thumbs up.
Dani glared at the puppet's head with a disapproving look.
"Well, a... alright then," Mr. Purple replied. "I understand! We'll just settle up the fare and I'll be on my way! Tips are of course optional but appreciated...
Once Yuki had their backpack and closed the door, Mr. Purple seemed to get the message.
"Well uh thanks for using purple cab, folks," He said quickly. "Remember to rate me 5 stars! Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay weeeeee goooooo!"

Dani realized Yuki forgot their backpack glancing at the note. She distracted the headless puppet for a moment while they retrieved it from the backseat. Dani gave a disapproving scowl as Mr. Purple thought Yuki was going to get back in the cab.
When Mr. Purple mentioned that they needed to settle the fare Dani shook her head no. "I think we've had quite enough taxi for one day," she informed the puppet. "We're taking the Uber. You can comp the ride since you're not even a real cabby!"
Mr. Purple asked them for a 5 star rating and then took off down the road realizing he best quit while he was still "ahead".
A few minutes later, a red Tesla pulled up. The driver, a normal human who looked to be about Dani's age rolled down the window. "Can I get your name please," He asked.
"Dani. I have a plus one," She said gesturing for Yuki to get in first.
Dani got in after them and pulled the door closed.
"The aquarium," Their driver asked.
Dani nodded. A moment later, they were on their way.
"Okay, if you insist," she said looking at Yuki's note again regarding splitting the cost. "How about I cover the Uber and you get the admission at the aquarium and we split lunch?"
As the Uber pulled away, all that was left in the parking lot was a pile of tangled white cotton rope.

Yuki had been able to retrieve their backpack without issue and was quite honestly relieved. They clutched it to their chest and let out a sigh, closing their eyes for just a moment to revel in the happy ending they and Dani had finally earned. The cab drove away, and was soon replaced by the Uber with its regular human driver, and before long the pair were headed for the aquarium. Yuki still had questions about what exactly the heck was going on - how had a puppet gained sentience? What would happen to Mr. Purple now? Would they ever meet again? But Yuki had long since learned that not all questions got to be answered, especially not right away. They were too weary to bother with asking anything now; and were content to let it all go, to drift into the comfortable world of marine biology where things made sense and carcinisation was inevitable.
...Of course, they would be sure to tell Dani all about that, and to show her their favourite crab exhibits along with the fish and other aquarium critters. It was Yuki's sworn duty, as the multiverse's resident marine biology nerd.

THE END
OOC: Last call!
Tomorrow begins the final week of Summer Soiree. This activity is scheduled to conclude next Sunday, July 13.
If any new players are interested in participating, you will need to post in the next 24 hours following this message. If you do want to join, please make sure that you'll be available through the coming week to ensure that we'll have time to finish. I plan to close the thread on Monday morning around this time when I get online and will not begin any new RPs after that.
As of right now, I have wrapped up the scenes with the existing players*.
*Yuri- I have not heard back from you, and it’s been over a week since your intro post. It doesn’t look like you’ve logged in since then. You’ll need to reply by tomorrow morning before I close the thread or IM me if you wish to continue yours. Otherwise, I'll assume you are not planning to come back.

Conclusion
Mr. Purple zoomed away in his purple taxi into the sunset. Dani stared at the screen of her laptop. She put the finishing touches on her last post wrapping the scene up.
“That seems like a good stopping point,” she mused aloud. Finally, Dani edited the title of her roleplay, adding “closed” in parenthesis.
She quickly read over everything once more and wondered if inserting herself as a character was a bit cheesy. Oh, it was fine, she assured herself. It was supposed to be a silly roleplay, even if it broke the fourth wall. Dani glanced across the room at the purple Muppet-like character sitting on a stool propped against the wall of her apartment that had been her inspiration.
Just then, her phone buzzed. Dani glanced down at it and read the text message from Danny. Where are you? The bus will be here soon!!!
Dani looked at the clock. Oh crap, I’m going to miss the bus, she thought. She quickly turned her laptop off and rushed out the door. Fortunately, she already had her rent-a-cop uniform on.
As Dani slammed the door behind her and locked it, Mr. Purple subtly turned his head. “I guess I better get ready, too,” he chuckled. Dani and Danny were probably going to need a taxi to get her to work and Mr. Purple was ready to save the day! Alice Cooper’s “Welcome to My Nightmare” begins to play as the room fades to black.
OOC: Thanks to those that participated. Look for Mr. Purple (and maybe Dani) in October for the Halloween event.
