Sadie entered the café after walking around Vice City. The city was much more humid than LA but overall nice. She then sat at the countertop. “I'll take a cup of mocha. A order of red beans and rice too please,” Sadie ordered with a smile. The shopkeeper nodded and grumbled orders to the cook.

Sadie took a look around the café, and her eyes didn't miss the coat racks attached to the booths. A young man with a name badge labeled 'Steve' placed a cup of steaming hot mocha in front of her. “Thank you, Steve.” She nodded and blew on her coffee before taking a small sip of it. Steve then came back around with her plate of red beans and rice.

The smell of fragrant beans and rice hit her nose. “Thank you again!” She instantly started to eat the pieces of sausage out of the dish.
Wondering if she'd ever get used to the heat in this part of the country Tsukasa sighs almost in disbelief when it starts to pour with rain. She is quickly soaked almost as if someone had run a knife up the middle of an old water bed mattress just as she happened to be underneath it. Cursing under her breath that she hadn't had the foresight to bring her umbrella or at least a windbreaker with a hood, she ducks into the nearest sanctuary from the cloudburst. It was Florida after all, she should have known better than to expect reasonable weather around this time of year...oh well...the food smells nice--evidently she'd made her way into a cafe--and she could do with something to warm her bones.

After a very brief visit to the bathroom to wring the water from her long black hair and do a little preening--her glasses having fogged up especially bad in the cool humidity of the bathroom--Tsukasa seats herself at an empty booth and looks over the menu. "Oh~" she thinks "This stuff looks so much more appetizing than what they've given us on the compound...I should have snuck out earlier..." The only problem is that most of the menu is in Spanish, Cuban Spanish to be precise, and her mastery of even the basic form was spotty to say the least. After another few minutes looking the pictures of the dishes over she settles on something that should be fairly universal. A Cuban sandwich and a cortadito, simple enough, a toasted ham sandwich and an espresso drink...right?

Realizing now that even if she managed to stay hidden behind the obscuring back wall of a booth it would undoubtedly seem odd were she to remain there, alone, Tsukasa moves up to the counter and points on the menu to the two things she would like. Again, if she feels that if she were to even try and sound out the words it'd just be awkward for everyone. Steve seems to understand and instantly deflates the woman's apprehension when he says "Got it!" and politely holds his hand out for the menu. Feeling more than a little embarrassed, Tsukasa's cheeks flush slightly red. It could be worse though, she could still be outside in the rain or back inside the basement laboratory of the compound trying to puzzle out how to safely kill a particularly nasty strain of aphids without poisoning those who would later go on to uh..."consume"...the affected crop.

Her food and drink arrive swifter than she had expected and after thanking Steve for his promptness Tsukasa tucks in. Salty, smoky, rich, spicy from the mustard and a little sour from the pickles...divine! A little sip from the foamy cortadito...oh~ Smooth but punchy and a touch sweet...actually it's very well balanced and reminds her of something she'd gotten in a fancy restaurant...it's damn good! Wanting to enjoy her meal as long as she reasonably can, she takes little bites and littler sips until both are nearly gone.

“You sure are enjoying that sandwich.” Sadie turned her head to talk to the other woman. Her own plate of rice and beans was almost gone with the exception of the beans being on the plate. “I'm Sadie. What's your name?” She said with a friendly grin on her face. A nearby radio had a brief news broadcast about the uprising war against the Cubans and the Haitians.
After a long night, I wanted coffee. After driving around for a few minutes, I drove upon the café Robina. I pulled my Ford truck into the parking lot. I shut the engine off, put the keys in the pocket of my biker jacket and walked up to the door. As I walked in, the bell made a *ching* sound. I took a seat in a booth and pulled out my cell phone. I just scrolled through a few posts online while waiting on the waitress.

Shoko just arrived ten minutes late for her shift. “I'm sorry that I'm late, Mr. Robina.” She apologized to the elderly café owner. She placed her belongings in her locker and wrapped an apron around her waist. Shoko noticed a woman sitting at one of the booths and then grabbed a menu and a bundle of silverware wrapped in a napkin. “I'm Shoko and I'll be your server for today. What can I get you started with?” Shoko said as she placed the menu and silverware in front of the customer.
Looking up from my phone I saw a women with a menu in front of me. I placed my phone on the table and grabbed the menu. "Hi nice to meet you. Im Rebecca. Can I get a few minutes to look over the menu? I will however take a cappuccino for now. Please and Thank you so much."
((I have a quick question! Isn't Vice City set in the 1980's? If this is a more flexible interpretation then that's fine by me but I was imagining, if anything, those huge bricks with antennae peeps used to lug around.))

Having run through the scenario of getting caught in her head plenty of times already, Tsukasa has a pseudonym prepared for just such a situation. She doubts though that this fetching young thing works as a feeler for either side of the currently unfolding gang war but it pays to look at a situation from many different angles. "Oh! Why hello there!" she replies jovially. "Well, Sadie, feel free to call me Azumi." Yeah, that sounds natural enough and she'll definitely be sure to respond to the name without hesitation... Glancing at the remnants of the other woman's meal she asks "What was it you ordered? What I mean is...of course I can tell it was rice and beans, that much is obvious but the lighting in here makes it hard to tell whether or not they were black or red." Her accent is not thick but sounds just a little off what one might expect and more than likely it would take a native Japanese speaker to really pin down where exactly she grew up.
