Lizbeth Redwood (played by Fantax)

gl-1495207-1760094046.jpg

The small hut in the forest has been witness of quite a thrills and spills.
Foxes and squirrels straying about the ‘Little Eden’ were frightened by the abnormal sounds and noises coming from that, not so abandoned anymore, shed.

halloween-pumpkin-path-stockcake.jpgThis shed, formerly an abandoned place, has become the home of this anthropomorphic doe, Lizbeth Redwood. It is in the middle of the forest, hidden behind trees and bushes and dense underwood. The small glade, with that hut right in the middle is populated by all sort of flowers in vibrant colors, really a small Eden of peace, calm and beauty. Not many had the chance to see this garden. But this has to change, the secluded living deer has decided to open her garden to all. She has a quite normal social life in that small town that accepted her like she is. The way to her hut is lit with illuminated pumpkins. The doe has been working several days in a row, few to sleep, lot of pumpkin to eat. The last days Lizbeth had pumpkin for breakfast, snack, appetizer, brunch, lunch, 4 o'clock, dinner, midnight snack.... soon pumpkin will be up to her ears... but it's for good cause.

It is time to show to the inhabitants who this doe really is.

Lizbeth has decided to make this particularly important event called Halloween 🎃 to invite everyone knocking on her door for that ‘Trick or Treat’ ritual to have a self-made vegan chocolate chunk cookie (or two, three…).🍪🍪🍪

So aaalll day long, the day before the event, Lizbeth has been cooking, no rest, no napping. She doesn’t know much about that Halloween feast, only that it is meant to ‘scare’ 👻evil away. As long as she doesn’t have to scare of anyone, she doesn’t mind. But that ritual of ‘Trick or Treat’ makes people knock on else’s doors, so also on the door of this doe. At least those that find the way to hers. The path leading to her home is already lightened today, some lanterns and light-chains were left from her Summer Soirée.
Lizbeth is making cookies, made of buckwheat flour, peanut/almond mash, cane sugar and vegetale milk. A pinch of salt not to forget and last but not least, chocolate chunks… delicious chunks of pure chocolate, dark and tasty. If ever some chocolate might be left over after that doe passed by, chocolate is her little guilty pleasure and quite a few chunks don’t find their way into the cookie-dough. Lizbeth decided even to realize an insert in her cookies. As it is to scare off, if ever a cookie has to be scary, she enters into the middle of the cookie a dark red puree, made of cranberries, tart cherries and strawberries and a tip of charcoal, thickened with a bit of powdered sugar, sweeeeeet.
All this sounds good, but Lizbeth is known to be quite clumsy when nervous, and inviting stangers to her home is like extremely anxiety-provoking for the doe. So all goes wrong what can go wrong. 😧
Her hut looks like as if a horde of untamed kids has made a food battle inside. The red juice is spilled all over, flour and sugar scattered through the room, splatters of red sticky mash all over the place. And let’s not speak about Lizbeth herself, her kitchen apron is smeared with red juice and chocolate. Lizbeth has tried her juice and mash and cookies, don’t worry, there are enough left for everyone. But….

😱Ooooh Deer!!! No Lizbeth, it’s not tomorrow, it’s today, it’s NOW that people will knock on your door!!!🚪

So people, just to warn, Lizbeth will open her door for you, but she might be looking like

A female figure with tan skin and a wearing a purple witch outfit was seen walking in the forest. She seemed human at first, but upon closer inspection it became apparent she wasn't human. Six eyes and six arms were the giveaway of her arachnid part. Her dress and witch hat even had white spiderweb pattern. Micaria, also known as the Spider Witch, decided to go trick-or-treating in Halloween. In one of her hands, she held a little bag with a pumpkin face pattern.

Noticing the shed, the approached and knocked on the door.

"Trick or treat!"
Maryam Ali (played by anyaskillon)

Maryam was humming a soft, quiet tune under her breath. She was dressed in a black witch outfit, holding onto a large sack, filling it with candy. She grinned as she saw the jackolantern lit path, and she skipped through it. She recognized the house - it was Lizbeth who took care of her, these past few months she completely trusted the woman.

She finally reached the small hut, reaching over and knocking a couple times, continuing the tune she was humming, and she then swung back and forth.

When the door opened, she called out "Trick or treat!". When she looked up, however, her eyes went wide for a moment, but she pushed the fear away. She was in a normal place now, with a normal life (as normal as could be, anyway), and she decided to land on her second thought.

"Woah! Miss Lizbeth your outfit is amazing!"

Lizbeth is shocked, how on earth could she just mix up the days, did that pumpkin diet blur her mind.

- oh no, what are they going to think of me.

Lizbeth hasn’t had enough sleep, she worked all day on those cookies, smelling fantastic (as usual). But her hut is a big mess…red fluid all over, chunks of a red purée scattered over the floor, seemingly a white mist of flour in the air…

Still she opens the door, that red juice all over her, her lips, hands, apron, clothes and other parts of that doe.
A very shy “Yes, oh, sure yes… I think I’ll treat, would, err…, you like a” the deer clears her throat but it leaves her voice with a gurgling sound, “cookie, huurrrr…wa

The cookies look quite normal, good round form, a little thicker than normal, as it has an insert, a surprise inside, a quite thick red liquid.

Oh, someone else is already knocking on the door, no no no no, that can’t be, how can this doe be so silly. Lizbeth hasn’t had time to do something, she can’t show herself to all town like that, smeared all over with juice and chocolate and flour and aallll. Oh Lizbeth, you have reached the top of silliness.
Still she opens the door, she recognizes that girl standing on her porch.
Oh Maryam, hey how are you?
Unfortunately Lizbeth has to cough as some strawberry juice got up her throat, making it come out of her mouth again, her hands still covered in cookie dough and red purée don’t help to get her lips clean, Lizbeth has to spit it out. Not the finest art to great someone, nothing to do, it’s clumsy Lizbeth.
Can I treat you with a cookie” she speaks with a little blubbering voice, rough as if she were hoarse.

"Whoah!!" Micaria got a bit spooked, since the red juice all over the doe make it that she looks like she was bloody. Luckily, the witch realized what happened. ",You look funny."

She then decided to check the cookies, taking one.

Macy followed the winding path through the forest, her lantern casting warm gold light across the carpet of fallen leaves. The pumpkins lining the trail glowed softly ahead, their carved smiles leading her toward the little hut she had heard whispers about. The air was rich with the scent of spice, cocoa, and something else that reminded her of both comfort and calamity.

She hesitated at the edge of the glade, tilting her head as she took in the sight of the tiny house. From the open windows drifted plumes of flour and the faint sound of a frazzled voice talking to itself. A smile tugged at her lips. This had to be Lizbeth’s place.

Macy stepped closer and knocked lightly on the door. When it opened, her eyes widened for just a heartbeat at the sight before her, red juice, streaks of chocolate, and the sweet chaos of a baker in full distress. Then, as gently as sunlight through the trees, her expression softened.

“Oh, Lizbeth… you have been busy.”

She took a small step forward, her voice low and kind. “It smells wonderful in here. And you, well, you look like someone who has poured her whole heart into making something special.”

Macy reached into the small basket she carried, revealing a few dried marigold blossoms and a tiny sachet of cinnamon bark. “For balance,” she said with a warm smile. “To remind you that even the sweetest mess can still hold magic.”

Then she leaned in just a little closer, lowering her voice to a conspiratorial whisper. “Now tell me, do I get to try one of those mysterious red centered cookies before the rest of the forest finds out how good they are?”

Not to loose some time Lizbeth quickly rubs her hands on her apron, which doesn’t really help, it only gets worse, looking like a butcher that just cut the throat of a poor animal.
Her insert is quite sweet, but she was kind of lucky, it looked liked blood, so the scary side was there, but is it the cookie that looks scary.

Another soft knock on the door, Lizbeth opens and is surprisingly looking at a witch, neat red cape, stains on that one wouldn’t be as obvious as those on that doe.
But quickly the supposed witch turns into a very gentle woman, but still somewhere the deer feels some dark presence, but what the heck, no she deserves her cookies.

Euh, oh,…err yes thank you, that is very kind. I…I mixed up the days and I am late and , eehm, silly and … clumsy. Oh my place is a total mess…. “ she looks around, her hut a place of a crime, a slaughter…. But anything that was ripped here were cookies.
Oh. ..oh.. yes, cookies, of course, a present for we’re not necessary, but I appreciate, you have a real good taste, thank you”, her name comes back in that blurred mind, “Macy, isn’t it? Here take some well deserved cookie, not to play a trick on me, I think I’m ‘punished’ enough” she grins stupidly as she shows a plate with a bunch of delicious cookies.

Thank you, but this wasn’t meant to be, I was so nervous and clumsy, I mixed up the days, the things, all went wrong. Please take some cookies, it’s the only thing that went approximately right.
Lizbeth reaches a plate with quite tasteful looking cookies, then only she realizes that she stands in front of a spider, a real spider, not only a disguise. She opens her eyes wide…

“Whoah!”

The woman had almost got a heart attack when there was a deer welcomed her with something red and sticky covered all over its body. Nerissa had never seen anything like that before. Although she had seen something similar from a shark body after their fight. But, of course under the water something that red and sticky wouldn’t last that long. Although the smell stayed there longer than the visual ever did. And yes, Nerissa was someone whom curious about the land because she came from under the water. The mermaid had her magic of Halloween touched her when she was strolled over the beach. She suddenly has feet! And she was always curious about how human celebrated their festivals on the land. So, tonight the mermaid-turned-her-fluke-into-legs had followed the sticky red notice toward the hut.

The chocolate and cranberries were strong touched her nose. Her nose was filled with air now. It filled with water before because she breath underwater. But the air however didn’t really hurt her as much as she thought it will. Maybe it was also because of the Halloween magic.

A kind human gave her a fairy costume before she reached Lizbeth’s house. Thus, she understood that Halloween was the time for all to be under costume and enjoy the spookiness of the month. Now, standing in front of Lizbeth, Nerissa grew a smile on her face.

“Trick or treat?”

@Nerissa de Mare
The doe was in total despair, trying to clean the least before anyone would knock again at her door. No chance, another knock, another open door in a dreadful state, she even manages this time to scare someone off.
Lizbeth looks at the woman, a totally normal woman with a fancy faery disguise, little does she know that she's in front of a mermaid. Lizbeth already met mermaids before. But here, nothing visible, but still a deep sitting feeling of that other being inside that woman. Lizbeth tries to smile, but the delicious juice she can't keep her fingers, even less her lips, away, ruins the well meant twinkle.
So she nods once, "Let me treat you some cookies, just not to be tricked." and holds a plate with well smelling slightly tepid chocolate chunk cookies. The interior still a surprise, but hints of it smeared all over a doe's lips.

Y-you l-look f-f-f-funny too…

Micaria reaches for a cookie and tastes it, taking a bite.

"Mmm, this is really tasty." she remarks with a smile, though getting red juice on her lips in the process.
The mermaid who turned into human and disguised as fairy was surprised that the doe didn’t scared of her. She was also surprised that she didn’t even scared of it because she could hear her talking. Was the doe really talking or was Nerissa just started to understand how every creature talks? Just like how she understands the fishes that talked to her. Also, was it costume? Or was it real? Nerissa couldn’t tell. The least she could tell that the doe seemed to be busy to clean up that the core of the mermaid in disguise in fairy costume tingled. Was it sympathy? She still had yet to learnt human’s expressions. Her gaze though, dropped to the plate that the doe held.

It smelled like chocolate and there was something endearing about the effort. Nerissa smiled and took one of the choco gracefully. While she was there, again she was surprised with someone wearing purple witch outfit because she had six eyes and six arms! Wow! Were they costume or were they real? Nerissa really couldn’t differentiate. It was Halloween after all and everyone is under disguised! You can’t tell which one was real. She could also saw the one in black witch outfit and the woman in red-hood.

Back to the chocolate, her eyes shifted toward it on her hand and bit to it. “Thank you dear…who’s your name? You may call me Nerissa. Or Rissa. Although it was difficult for most of people to say my name. I’d also be okay if you just call me Liz. Your cookie is good, by the way! Do you need any help for cleaning?”

She didn’t realize that her lips were smeared with that red and sticky juice. Just like how Lizbeth appeared in the first place.

Even if she's a real spider, she seems the most friendly spider-witch existing, no need for the doe top fear. Especially when Lizbeth sees that her cookies are seemingly delicious and the red insert had its effect.
Lizbeth chuckles slightly, seeing that her 'invention' works and it looks quite scary. She then realizes, how spooky she must be, having that juice all over and spilled through her little home. No there were no slaughter here!!
"I'm glad it tastes good, you'll remember Lizbeth's cookies" She grins, as far as a juice and chocolate smeared muzzle of a deer can have a grin on the lips.
Macy Wilson (played by Stormiedayz)

Macy blinked at the sight before her, the sweet scent of chocolate mixing with something far less identifiable. For a moment, she wasn’t entirely sure if she’d stumbled into a kitchen or a battlefield. Still, her smile held steady, warm, a little amused, but never unkind.

She accepted one of the cookies with a small nod. “Thank you, Lizbeth,” she said softly. “They look wonderful, and I think you’ve frightened your share of spirits already for one evening.”

Her gaze drifted briefly toward Micaria and Nerissa, her tone light but fond. “You both chose well, though I suspect these might vanish faster than any ghost could manage.”

Taking a polite bite of her cookie, Macy’s expression softened even further. “Mmm. Delicious. A little spooky, but mostly sweet.” She brushed a few crumbs from her cloak and inclined her head toward the flustered hostess. “I should let you get back to your baking before the next crowd arrives. Thank you for the treat, and for the story I’ll be smiling about all night.”

With that, she gave a graceful dip of her head and turned toward the path again, her red cloak catching the lamplight as she stepped quietly back into the fog.

Lizbeth doesn’t realize how this mermaid was wondering about what for her is so ‘normal’, she simply answered on Nerissa’s question.

The doe is a bit embarrassed having so much people around, when normally all is quiet. Still she’s happy about every person coming to ‘steal’ a cookie or two. It’s more the embarrassment of having created a chaos everybody can see.
So she politely answers that question Nerissa asks. “Nice to meet you, Nerissa, that is a wonderful name. But I even more like ‘Liz’ as some people call me Liz too, I’m Lizbeth Redwood. And I might look desperate, but I will handle this all by myself, Thank you.
She looks around her and almost regrets to decline the offer, it was really a mess.
But somehow, this utterly clutter of destroyed unbaked cookies looks as if, well, it’s Halloween.
Then she giggles softly, seeing that almost everyone has that sweet red fluid in the corner of their smiling mouths, she reaches out to try to clean it up on Nerissa.
Big, big mistake, Lizbeth only makes it worse.
It is maybe not the night to learn how earthlings live, especially on Halloween with that clumsy doe around.

Lizbeth nods in delight, and grins stupidly, SHE has scared some spirits, that outermost wary doe made someone scare, ain’t that fantastic?
Oh don’t worry, I think I made more than necessary, well even if some, err…. landed on the ground and, ehm, were crushed…..
No one saw until now, but there were even traces of a flattened cookie on the doe’s rear.
A total difference to this mostly elegant witch, a pleasure to look at, seemingly sliding smoothly away into the fog as she turned around after such wonderful words she spoke to Lizbeth.
I hope to see you again in better circumstances and show my sincere gratitude ” she softly speaks, unknown if Marcy would hear or not.
Yeah, Nerissa was a common name in the field of mermaid world but it was not common in the human land, at least that was what Nerissa had been taught by the kind person who gave her this fairy outfit. She had introduced her name as Nerissa de Mare and that person find her name strange. Her appearance was strange at the first time she reached the shore anyway. She lives in the strange world but human land was a stranger for her too. So, Nerissa caught the change of expression on Lizbeth’s face and that was fascinating because it felt eerie but something tickles on her chest. It felt like she was lured to draw a smile on her face too.

“Double Liz it is. Nice to meet you! I will remember your cookie all of my life. It was the best Halloween cookie I ever tasted!”

Deep down, though? Human food slid past her tongue without flavor as it was as bland as seawater weeds. Nerissa couldn’t taste human food at all. But that burst of the sticky red juice on her lips thrilled her. And it was the first ever she got Halloween cookie since the time she visits the human land. However, it was fascinating enough for her to be part of the festive.

"I guess it's time for me to head out. Swing by the beach sometime. I'll sing for you from the waves." Nerissa gave a wink, something that she has also learnt from beachside folks signaling a secret invite. “I don’t want to burden you any longer. Thank you so much for the treat, Liz!”

With that, she dipped into a deep bow. It was her way of showing true thanks without a tail to swish. Legs still felt clumsy but the gesture flowed from old habits. She left the hut and walked toward another place for the festival.
Micaria looks at Macy and Nerissa, and does a small wave to them.

"These cookies are very delicious, but I have to go now, continuing trick-or-treating." she says turning back to Lizbeth. "Have a nice night."

Lizbeth giggles again with Nerissa's words, she loves it when people are happy with those little things she can offer.
She doesn't mind at all her slight emotionless expressions, she doesn't judge anyone. But she feels that inner happiness, that little tickling in one's stomach and thus it makes her happy.
So she bows respectfully back to that woman as this one seems to take the leave.

Never will she be aware that she were in front of a mermaid, Nerissa just being one of her guests, no matter the kin, no matter the genre, no matter the look, just a satisfied guest.
That frightening looking doe is content. - back to other guests -
