I'd love to start a Round Robin thread with a different theme every month maybe.

I don't recall any kind of tournaments here offhand (though there may be some in RPs or in Forum Games?). Just general contests (mostly raffles of some variety).
But also, like... how do you mean?
Like, is this a writing thing, an art thing, an in-character thing...?

I dont know what else they might be called. When I did them I an old forum site, they were a writing exercise. One person starts by setting a scene. Perhaps they lay some ground rules like *feel free to be silly in this one* or *the setting is modern pub not medieval. No wenches this time Sorry!* Or maybe a format guideline. *Single sentence. One to 3 paragraphs. No text speak.*
They are a great way to sample a character concept you have been mulling over without having to fully develop them. Or maybe you feel weak in a genre like sci-fi or writing combat. You can post something just to try it out. There's no fear of failure or being ghosted.
I really had fun with them back in the old times. You know, when I was taking a break from inventing fire.My dad came up with the idea of dirt. There was a lot of pressure! So dabbling in a new way to tell a tale was a great stress reliever.
I never read about any tournament here on RPR.
But when I get you right, you'll need a referee too, to keep things going smooth and not out of control. I know most, if not all, role-players are responsible enough to 'play' the game, but a lapse or a slip can happen.
The idea is nice, it would force you to get out of your comfort zone.
Heidiberts, the only writing challenge I know off is the RPR Write-a-Thon, but this is a personal challenge and it ran only once until now.
