About 3 years ago I did something drastic (for me, at least). After 10+ years of being active in various communities and trying to get used to the ever changing world of the web I decided to quit. It was getting quite lonely, honestly, to try to stay social in an online space where algorithms, likes and AI became more present with every waking day. I focused more on irl friendships, doing art and writing just for me, getting better at my job, stuff like that. It's been really nice, and I'm back in a good mental space.

I knew that if I was going to start being more active online again that I wanted to join spaces similar to the ones I perused back in the early 2000s, when the internet was still new, strange and exciting. I loved forum spaces of all kinds. DeviantArt was my go to site for meeting new people from all over the world, doing art trades, writing stories together, it was also there I discovered roleplay for the first time.

So. Here I am. I stumbled upon these forums some time ago and have been lurking for a while, enjoying the various threads and roleplays, contemplating whether to make a profile.

I will probably continue lurking, set up some characters, see how it feels. I love character driven roleplay, both whimsy and lighthearted fun, big dramatic story archs and the occasional romance.

Anyone else used to RP on deviantart back in the day, or what was your favourite places to go on the old internet?
Welcome :)
Hey, welcome in!! Love your artstyle, first of all. Second, I hope you enjoy perusing the site with your own account, and that you're able to find a solid story to play with someone. See ya around!

P.S. I discovered roleplay on an in-game chat, lol. Very, erm, humble beginnings. xD
Welcome to RPR :)
