Don’t you worry about writing skills, it’s like drawing, imagine things and give words to it, not a picture.
From experience I can tell you that it’s a really nice place, a good place to start with role-playing. There is even a Help section that includes tips and tricks to learn RPing, have a look, it’s worth it.
