My favourite types of RP is usually casual, but I don’t mind some fighting/fantasy/plot types!

Who can be 16 years late?? You did it, so, it’s not too late. I believe you that you’re craving to play, after 16 years… Anyway, the waiting time is over, 16 years of anxiety will leave the place for the most friendly people! And this is my experience here, very friendly people, the moderation team as well, if you encounter some issue.
Draw OC? That sounds interesting

Better late than never, as that saying goes. I have no doubt you'll find what you need, it just takes some time to find the right people that you feel is right for you. The community is very friendly as you can see with how many people responded thus far.
I too enjoy some good fighting and fantasy related scenes, I like plotting and character development. While Im not familiar with the fandoms your in, Im more curious what kind of characters you'll make in your time on rpr.
