Trevor (played by berserker544)

"I don't see any wit" He looked around "You guys see any from her? I don't.All I see is the Sharpe tongue and I'm not quite sure how that would help in a fight." Trevor said it loud enough for her to hear, Trevor just smiled and leaned back in his chair, his hands behind his head. "A sharp tongue won't help you in a fight lass. But I speak out of place."
Catelyn (played by IviCelebrindal)

Catelyn remains silent as everyone bickers amongst themselves. She smiles as she always does and walks out of the room when her father requests her to get more guards. She comes back about five minutes later smiling and talking to one of the six guards she found. She hands her father the glass over water that she picked up on the way back from getting the guards and smiles as she walks back to her seat. The guards take their positions on the door, closing it so that no one else can get in uninvited.
Aki (played by L0v3lyInk) Topic Starter

Garrick's anger was quickly rising with the woman as she back sassed him once more. Before he could say anything to the woman though, the new gentleman spoke up. Garrick simmered down a bit and continued looking after the woman whom was currently walking away. "As much as I appreciate your words Sir Henderson, you have no place speaking for me. I'm done playing games woman. You act like a barbarian and have the manors of one to. Leave this place if you wish but if you stay, you WENCH, you will hold your blasted tongue and keep it lodged in your throat. I wouldn't be hiring this many people if I wasn't prepared to pay you, you thoughtless imbecile, and keep in mind I'm still in the process of hiring people. I will not apologize for not THROWING my money at you to keep you in my presence. I am not one of the many people on the road who will put up with your horrible social skills and the lack of common courtesy. I am not desperate for your skills even if you ACT well taught in the art of swordsmanship. You are easily replaced by one of these three or the others outside."

He was breathing hard, having worked himself up again. He reached for the mug that his daughter had brought him and closed his eyes trying to regulate his breathing. Once he had calmed down some he took a slow drink and then lightly set it back down on the table. He slowly lowered himself to his seat, not bothering to look at the damned woman to see if she was staying or not. He wasn't going to grovel at her feet to make her stay. Aki on the other hand watched to see what Mary-Sue would do, while listening to Garrick still. "I do apologies for the outburst to you three though. I act in accordance to how others treat me. I'm not normally so...violent." he said before taking another drink. He clasped his slightly shaking hands together and then looked up. "Father Torrage, I would like you to stay by my daughters side rather then Mary-Sue and Sir Henderson, I would like you to guard the the diplomat. I do apologize Ms Ceri for not having you guarding one of them, they seem much more knowledgeable about fighting though and I feel safer if the best fighters stay closest to my daughter and Sir Aki."
Trevor (played by berserker544)

"Yes sir, I will do my up most best, and I'm sorry for my out burst against Mary-Sue." He said leaning forward placing his hands on the table. "I also thank you for this opportunity. I hope to meet your expectations..." He didn't look back at Mary-Sue again. He didn't need to make anymore trouble. "So then, it is just the four of us to act as guards?"
Aki (played by L0v3lyInk) Topic Starter

Garrick looked over to the doorway, to see if Mary-Sue was still there, and then shook his head seeing that she was not. "The three of you for now. I'm sure there will be others who will come in throughout the day seeing as it is still early. I will explain the payment to you three though. Everyone who is hired, is expected to escort Wyberg and my daughter to the capital city of the Takaski Empire. Everyone will be riding a horse other then Wyberg and Catelyn. I have prepared a coach with the diplomatic sign of our country pained on it so the Takaski soldiers know. There will be no unnecessary fighting. If you are attacked by bandits each and everyone of you have my permission to kill them and take whatever they have for yourself. I will pay each of you a total of 5000 gold shillings. I will give 1000 before the group departs and the last 4000 upon your return with my daughter and Sir Wyberg alive and well. If either of them die you are not entitled to the last 4000 shillings. If either of them are severely injured I will only give you 2000 shillings upon your return. Does that sound crystal clear?" he asked giving them almost the same spiel that he had given Mary-Sue not much earlier that morning. "Are there any questions?"
Trevor (played by berserker544)

Trevor lifted his hand to show he had a question. "Wouldn't it make more sense to not paint your symbol on the coach? I think it would be kinda a target to bandits, and thieves don't you think?" He lowered his hand placing it on the table. "I understand your point of view, and won't bring it up again, but I think it would be best to take the symbol off...or even forget the coach all together, have your daughter and Sir Wyberg dressed like one of us. Having a group of fighters only, we would most likely be left alone, rather then having a obvious thing needing protecting. Like I said, it is only a suggestion of course and I won't bring it up again unless I think it needs to be."
Lias Torrage (played by Rosewood)

Lias had simply kept on smiling throughout the little incident involving Mary-Sue, mildly amused by the whole thing and noting that Ceri, Catelyn and Aki to a degree had the sense to stay out of it. The side of his mouth twitched at the mention that he would be looking after Catelyn instead of Aki as he first anticipated, though if this was a sign of relief, annoyance or worry was anyone's guess. Nodding at Garrick, he quietly returned the pouch to his robe and pulled the right gauntlet back on as the payment plan was recited.

Remaining silent when Garrick inquired about any questions they might have, he rested his hands on his lap, waiting for things to be settled. After all, he had little control over the setup, though part of him was a little disappointed he'd not be protecting Aki since the man seemed like someone he'd get along with easier then Catelyn. Not that it mattered if he did have some control, his job was the same either way.
Mary-Sue (played by Luulu)

"I have never...so insulted....irritating...." She left the house sputtering angrily. Catelyn had called the remaining guards in the house, so Mary-Sue didn't meat any along the way. Her eyes were flashing, and her face was bright hot as she tossed the door open and barged outside. The vest she worse flowed behind her like a cape, and she twitched one of the daggers at her side, eager to throw it at something.
"I...I...augh!"
Ceri (played by White_Wolf)

Ceri listened to the others talk, a soft smile gracing her features. She had no problem making eye contact with everyone but refused eye contact to Catelyn and Aki. "This will be an interesting trip. I'll look forward to working with you all should I be hired." she chirped with her smile holding strong.
Aki (played by L0v3lyInk) Topic Starter

Garrick nodded to Trevor but sighed softly and looked to Aki who held a neutral look to his face. Garrick looked back to the knight and began to explain, "The king insisted upon the diplomat being taking to the other kingdom in a carriage with our symbol on it so they would know not to attack. Apparently it was apart of a gentleman's agreement at the beginning of the war. If a diplomat and an entourage were to be sent, they must blatantly be apart of the other kings diplomatic forces so the army knows not to attack it. I brought up the same argument with the king but he would not agree to anything unless we made sure to keep up the gentleman's agreement that him and the other king agreed to."

Garrick heard Mary-Sue from outside and sighed shaking his head, trying not to think about the aggravating woman. He reached over and took his daughter's hand and smiled at her before turning back to the three at hand. "As of right now, you are all hired. I do request that you roam the garden for the better part of the day or remain in the entrance hall until the evening. Once I am done interviewing people for the job, I will have my servants fetch those whom I have kept and then I will pay everyone their first tidbit and feed you all. Following that you will be shown to rooms for the night and then woken tomorrow bright and early. If I end up finding other much better qualified for this job or cannot hire everyone, I will have a servant inform you as soon as possible so you can find another job for yourself. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, but I am not certain how many people will show up for this task. I also ask that you get to know one another and possibly my daughter. Sir Wyberg will remain with me for the course of the hiring but you shall have the time to talk to him over dinner and following dinner if you do not wish to withdraw to your rooms and would perhaps enjoy a drink and chat. Any further questions before you are dismissed? Catelyn, perhaps you have a question for them? Or Sir Wyberg perhaps?"

Garrick turned up towards Aki who chuckled and shook his head no. "Not at the moment. I do look forward to talking later this evening gentlemen and lady." he slightly bowed towards them and then smiled at Garrick who looked back at his daughter to see if she had anything to say.
Ceri (played by White_Wolf)

Ceri stood giving a bow to the king. "Thank you, I'll do my best to live up to your expectations." She found her way to the garden and sat near the flowers relaxing herself. Her job wouldn't be easy this she was sure of. She was confident that her abilities would not shame the King though.
Catelyn (played by IviCelebrindal)

Catelyn smiled at her father and shook her head no when he asked if she had anything else to add. She looked at Aki when he chuckled, her smile getting slightly bigger. She nodded towards the new individuals and looked back to her father. "I have nothing to ask, father," she said lightly.
Trevor (played by berserker544)

Trevor nodded. He stood up, and picked up his helmet, shield and spear. "Until this evening sirs..." He said, giving a slight bow, then placed his helmet on and walked out of the hall. He made his way to the garden, seeing Catelyn there, he simply nodded to her and said. "Lady Catelyn..." and continued on his way to find himself a bench to sit on and relax. Once his did, he put down his shield and spear and took off his helmet and leaned back. He wish he kept his mouth shut to that woman...she may leave, and by the looks of things we could a few more guards then just three. He leaned back his head and closed his eyes, relaxing.
Lias Torrage (played by Rosewood)

Standing and bowing to new employers, Lias then turned and made his way back to the castle entrance. One of the new guards asked if he was leaving, but he informed them he just needed to retrieve something and would return shortly. The commotion with Mary-Sue coming across as someone attacking the castle had made him rush when he'd arrived, and he'd simply tossed his pack into one of the bushes outside after taking his gauntlets from it. Though that was only half the reason he had wanted to depart the castle for a brief time.

Slowly making his way to the bit of shrubbery his pack was hidden in, he looked around the area for the ill-tempered woman that had stormed out, hoping she'd still be around. "Mary-Sue?" He called out, as if searching for a runaway dog.
Aki (played by L0v3lyInk) Topic Starter

Garrick sighed as he watched all of them leave and then turned to Aki who nodded. "They seem like a solid crew, although the girl worries me. She wouldn't look directly at me." he said to the noble who nodded.

"I did notice but I don't think it means much of anything." he replied and then turned to his daughter looking at her worriedly. "I hope you don't mind being stuck with the priest. He isn't a woman but he seems like a fair enough person to not try and take advantage of you." he reached over and took her hand lightly patting it. "Is there anything I can get for you before you go? I can have one of the maids or servants run into the town and get it for you."

Aki looked up at the door and then walked over to it looking out. He saw a few other people waiting for an interview with the king. He smiled and turned around before signaling them in.

(My next post will be 'ts'ing to later that night. I'll have him hire a few more guards though they won't be as important to the plot. In a fight though I'll play them and if someone else feels like playing an extra person feel free to snag one.)
Trevor (played by berserker544)

(opps didn't mean to post yet, sorry...ignore me!!!!)
Catelyn (played by IviCelebrindal)

Catelyn smiled at her father and shook her head no when asked if she needed anything from the village. She had her suitcase packed and is ready to leave when her father decides to have them leave. She looks at Aki then back at her father. "What do you need me to do before we leave, father?"
Mary-Sue (played by Luulu)

"I haven't left yet. I'm waiting for someone." Her voice stated, wafting down at the monk from up in a tree. Her clothing was light, and mixed into the tree's leaves and flower buds softly so that anyone not paying attention would not have noticed her.
"Arn't monks suppose to address all fellow human beings with polite tones? Isn't that part of your etiquette?" She asked bluntly. If he had noticed her form in the tree, he'd be able to see her face by now, staring out into the distance blankly.
"What do you want?"
Lias Torrage (played by Rosewood)

Lias's eyes went right to where her voice had come from, though it took him a moment to actually see her. For someone that had acted like a brutish warrior earlier, she did a decent job of blending in with the background. A valuable skill to have, as he was well aware.

Smiling even though her attention was elsewhere, he tried to keep his tone soft. "I apologize if the way I called out for you came across as impolite, it's not something I've done very often. I have had some training in etiquette, but I felt other fields of study were more important at the time and never did very well in it." He explained, going over to the bush where his pack was hidden. Luckily it was only a few steps from the tree Mary-Sue was in. "You left in quite a state, so I was rather concerned. I used to have a similar reaction when dealing with the upper-class, so I can sympathize with your frustrations."

Tugging on the hidden pack and finding it snagged, he freed it with a hard yank. The top flew open and some of the contents spilled onto the ground, though thankfully it hadn't had a hole torn into it. Sighing at yet another little mishap in his day, he started gathering up his belongings. "As I am inept at keeping words subtle, I shall put this plainly, just be aware I am not trying to anger you further. I wanted to inquire about any possible reprisals you might be considering after the heated words you shared with Lord Garrick. I do not know if you would even consider it, but in my line of work I have come to see that some people will kill over less."
Mary-Sue (played by Luulu)

Mary laughed. She liked this monk. "I wont promise you wont see me around, but the girl reminds me a bit of someone back home. Don't worry, if you do see me I'll more likely be of help than a hindrance." She smiled down at him. "You are one of the strangest monk's I've ever met." She thought a moment, "I do hate her father though. I'm use to being somewhat respected for what I do." she grinned, "In some places, I'm kind of a big deal."
