"I don't know. I guess something other than white magic."
"That's kind of vague... are you talking about more offensive magic?"
"Sure. I know more defense magic than offense magic."
"OK. Do you like anything in particular?"
"Not really." Nalani rubbed the back of her head, knowing she was being a little hard to deal with.
"You look like a person who could use light magic. I'll start with that."
"Light magic? Isn't it that the same as making a small lantern or something?"
"No. It's different. I think it would be best to demonstrate." Pichuun walked over to a tree, a few feet away, concentrated, and pulled out a card that had writing on it. "Recollection: Sapphire Shooting!" He shot out 3 blue beams of light from his hand and fired them at the tree. The tree had several deep cuts on it as a result.
"That's a different kind of magic than my teacher taught me." She examined the tree.
"Yes, because this is an offensive form of light magic. There's also a support form of light magic, which is what your silver shield most likely is."
Nalani nodded." It doesn't seem hard to use either."
"It depends on the strength of the spell, as I call it, you use. For example, that was a weaker attack, so it takes less power to use. If I were to use the most powerful light spell in my arsenal, the tree would be gone, but I would be weakened tremendously."
"I see. I use power from the energy around me so spells only weaken me slightly. It's sorta of a unicorn's ability."
"If only I had that ability. That would be nice."
"I don't like it. If your working with someone, you could accidentally drain their energy."
"But every power has it's downside, right?"
Nalani nodded." I think I can show you one of my offense moves if you want."
"Sure."
Nalani focused on a tree across from her before closing her eyes." Sliver Arrow!" A silver arrow left her hand and hit the tree. A few moments later, the tree fell to the ground.
"Wow. That's pretty strong. Have you ever considered firing them in a pattern, though?"
