Clop-CLOMP. Clop-CLOMP. Clop-CLOMP.

The echo of her footsteps made Petra wince as she descended further into what appeared to be an abandoned space ship marooned on some dusty, backwater planet that, if she'd had a choice in the matter, would have bypassed altogether. But no, her CO had decided that she needed some active duty to alleviate her "stress". Especially since it would take the soldier she'd "disagreed with" about two weeks to recover after their encounter. Who knew the mess hall was so aptly named?

Still, there was one advantage to being half-cyborg: she kept her cyborg eye on Night Vision, watching as various instrument panels lit up with a green glow to indicate some sort of faint light source--no doubt due to the moon that was beginning to set. She switched now and again to Infra-red, trying to determine if there were any heat signatures for people or animals--but she detected none. She sighed and adjusted her cyborg arm, sweeping it across her field of vision.

"It's not like there'll be anything good down here." She muttered through her mask. "It's just a junk heap--probably killed everyone on board in its crash." But that was the strange thing. This sleek vessel hardly looked like it had crashed--it was in good condition and she hadn't come across a single body yet. Unless something had eaten them, she figured it was probably just abandoned.

She never even saw the flicker of movement before a jolt of electricity shorted the circuits of her cyborg half--effectively crippling her entire left side. She landed with a solid thud as the creature that had stunned her cackled and scuttled in his approach of his latest victim. She would make a very nice addition to his already interesting pile of odds and ends...most of which were human or humanoid. That was, until a grenade in her left arm exploded--sending the creature flying back with a dreadful scream. Sadly, it survived, picked itself up, shook itself off, and then approached more carefully. The half-cyborg didn't move. Good.

The alien, a semi-humanoid shape with thick light brown fur coating its long arms and legs, and faded fabric which might have been a uniform in tatters on its body, it began to slide the heavy, unwieldy Petra towards its collection. Maybe now it could power up its ship?

Alain (played by Freyya)

Specialist Alain Durand saw the still intacht yet long abandoned ship lying on the wasteland's surface. He looked over it from a hill for a while before he picked his helmet back up from the dusty ground and whiped it clean. "Allright... Let's take a look." he mumbled to himself. He put the helmet on his head and slid the front down, automatically activating the inside systems. He switched it to infrared vision and started running, using his half-Gervian descent to run faster than any human could.

He smiled as he felt the suit - even though it appeared heavy - flexed with every movement he made. It was no obstruction at all.
He approached the ship and closed down, sliding to a stop into cover. He'd seen something, but he wasn't sure. Movement? life? Whatever it was, it was close by.He pulled the assault rifle from the holder on his back and checked the ammo. He had more than enough, since he could materialize his own bullets as long as there was enough metal of any sort around. Seeing as he was entering an old spaceship, he felt at ease. he walked in and kept walking, towards the light source that was the indication of a heat source. His assault rifle ready and constantly aimed forward, only snapping to the sides every now and then in order to check his corners.

When he walked into the hallway where Petra and the strange creature were, he got into cover behind the corner. "What the..." he turned, looking through the wall with his infrared vision. Alain had never seen anything like it before. "Let's find out then..." Alain quickly flipped arouhnd the corner, using his pistol to shoot at the creature's kneecaps in an attempt to destroy them and rendering them useless.

(I won't type in wether or not the bullets hit or what effect it'll have, I'll leave that to you :) )
GE-NEX Carolus 2 (played by Pirate)

Deeper into the ship there was a completely dark area. Without night vision, it was impossible to see where you walked. This was a storage room, everywhere there were half-open boxes with spare parts and even cans of food that had escaped their containers scattered all over the floor. This ship must've had a rough landing, since almost every rack and box that could fall, fell.

In the midst of it all sat a robotic humanoid creature. It sat on its metallic butt against a wall, its head down and its arms flat on the floor. It had been there for a long while, judging by how much dust it collected. There were a couple of open patches in its framework as well where thin cable were exposed. Around it were small and multicolored disks scattered.

But then, movement. Petra's explosion had been quite the heavy one, for it shuddered this storage room. From a nearby rack there fell a copper bundle of wires down, straight onto Carolus' shoulder where some of his wires were exposed. A couple of bright sparks emerged from the area of impact, and not soon after, a faint blue neon light emerged from underneath its chest plate, though it stayed quiet for a little while.

And then, finally, its eyes lighted up in that same neon blue color, giving a bit of an intimidating look as its head straightened up."GE-NEX Droid model Carolus 2, activating. 68 percent." It said in a deep, heavy and echoing voice."Gunner pack: installed. Guard Dog pack: error. Speech pack: installed. 100 percent loaded."

The machine then stood up, its blue eyes looking around and scanning the area."Damage report. 26 percent. Suggestion: stopping by the nearest GE-NEX Workshop for the best quality repairs." It spoke as it looked around. Soon it found what it was scanning for; its rifle. The Droid picked it up and slowly walked for the door. Once it was in the hallway, it simply looked around and scanned for any form of life.
Nara scanned the hallway. She had her armor on and her helmet was on as well so she could see. She was thinking about how much her squad leader would yell at her since she should be in a hospital for a shot leg. Nara wasn't limping as she continued silently down the hall, making sure she checked each hall that branched off of the one she was in. This ship seemed abandoned as she looked around but she knew better than to assume that.

Petra woke to the sound of gunfire and an inhuman scream. She shoved herself upright, discovered that only half her body was working--the human half--and groaned.

The gunshots struck with deadly precision, but not before the alien emitted a high-pitched, nearly supersonic screech that, had Petra's cyborg instruments been working, would have probably crippled them yet again, before finally flopping onto the floor. An ominous purple liquid spilled from its knees.

Petra grabbed for the pistol on her thigh, but really--who was she kidding? If the assailant had wanted to shoot her, she'd more than likely be dead--of course, she had also been unmoving before that.

"Thanks." She said, finally turning herself over to see the damage. Her cyborg arm had wires hanging free, sparking, and it was clear the grenade had done some damage--but it could be repaired. Probably Alain would get a good look at her face now, with her short white-blonde hair askew--the oxygen mask more or less gone by this point, and half her face covered in metal; too bad she was blind in the one eye she'd come to rely most on.

If they waited or listened, the sounds of scuttling could be heard. Apparently the alien's shriek had awoken something. And it was coming towards them, bent on attacking anything in their way.
Alain (played by Freyya)

Alain saw the metal parts on Petra's body, but hardly cared. She wasn't the first Cyborg he'd seen in his life. Shortly after, his ears picked up the sound Petra had just picked up before him. "What is that?" He looked around but couldn't see anything. He put the silencer on his assault rifle and held it ready. If he was going to shoot, then he wasn't going to attract more of whatever was coming their way.
GE-NEX Carolus 2 (played by Pirate)

As Carolus walked, he headed for the noise. Gunfire meant a possible threat. Perhaps the Droid would find its activator there. It had no registered owner, and thus had no true purpose. His programming did not allow that. It could even be owned by a rat if it could work the machinery.

Not soon after Carolus reached the main hall. The scuttling sound was still getting louder, but it didn't come from the Droid. It came from behind it in fact. The Droid raised its gun and pointed it at the two as soon as his scans picked up life around the corner."Identification required. Tagging: error. Friend or foe indicator: error. Please reconfigure Software." The thing spoke loudly as it aimed its gigantic gun at Alain, who was deemed the main threat here.

But soon the scuttling came closer, and the Droid turned around."Warning: unknown specimen nearing. Halt! Or this unit will commence fi-" Before the Droid could finish its sentence it was tackled onto the ground by an even larger specimen than before. The Droid fell flat on his back and would probably be too slow to offer any assistance before it got up.
Nara flinched when she heard the gunshots. She held her pistol in her hands, her sniper rifle across her back. Being silent but very careful, she followed the sound. She made sure she hid in the shadows.
Belial (played by Minajerie)

Gunshots- without any form of a silencer- were really rather load, and in a mostly abandoned shipwreck the sound echoed to where the two dragons were.

And really, the term dragon is used loosely.

Of the two, BB definately looked the more dragon like, with her longer snout, claws and tail. But Caution had her beat in size and sheer scariness-factor. Her cousin was huge. And that is why she was carrying The Gun.

BB had a form of firepower as well, but other than being a decent shot, her overall gunmanship just wasn't all that great. That was why she was a mechanic. Just because she could make the guns didn't mean she was great at chooting them.

Speaking of guns, that shot meant they weren't the only ones here looking for salvage. At least, that is what she assumed. "Look sharp. Gunshots might wake some of the locals." Not that what she was doing was much better. The sound of scraping metal as she flung some unusable scrap this way and that. Oh yes. Very quite. Now she was frowning at herself.

With a huff she deamed that there were no more usable pieces here and that they should move one. With a gesture, she motioned Caution to lead the way.
Caution (played by Minajerie)

A dark rolling chuckle escaped Cautions maw. Her cuz made her smile. "No Shi-I mean, You don't say?" She made sure, for the N'th time, that The Gun was ready to fire at a moments notice. Lips still curled in mirth from her Cuz's dislike to cursing in general conversation. Apparently it should be 'Saved for important things- Like when you get shot or an engine falls on your hand'. It was reasonable, she supposed.

Watching with quiet scrutiny as BB sifted through mashed up ship parts, she made sure that her gaze roamed the room for any threats. Sure, she had put on some combat armor, but being suprised was never good.

When BB gave the OK to move out, Caution stretched her neck to the side- hearing a satisfying pop and then moved to the front. Her eyes glowed like a beacon, she didn't need a flashlight, so it made sense that she went first. Besides, she already took care of everything behind them. Her secondary arms grabbed the satchels of salvage that BB had found and they trecked on.

Her ears twitched to the sound of faint warnings from a droid. Odd. Salvage teams normally didn't bring those. Something to be wary of.

But apparently not weary enough.

It looked like a couple of the big nasties from before were ganging up on a gaggle of... humanoids. One had jumped on what looked like a combat or a defender droid, but there were others coming out of the jungle of wires that was the hallway from her to them.

"Looks like it's GO TIME, Cuz. Watch my back, otherwise, stay out of the way of fire."

Dropping the salvage, her larger arms grasped at blades- their fingers being just a little too unweildy for guns... unless specially made, or she held them upside down.

She shot at the furry ugly that was just behind the one on the droid, all the while sucking on her tongue for a surprise attack if one got in her face.

"I'm sure it's not good, whatever it is." Her free hand made some adjustments, unplugging a cable before replugging it back in. At last her systems were rebooting--though it would take precious minutes before she found out the extent of the damage.

She was getting to her feet, when the Droid entered view and was leveling it's gun at her--before it was suddenly attacked by something. Her gun was up already and she fired two or three shots at it. Nicking the creature though not killing it. The droid was in the way and she didn't want to risk actually hitting it.

"Please tell me you brought re-inforcements," she called to Alain.

A few more of these humanoid aliens were approaching from behind as well, bent on devouring anyone in their path. And thus one let out a screech when it detected something lurking in the shadows of one of the hallways...
Nara noticed and made sue her sniper rifle had it's silencer on. She carefully took it off her back and set it against her shoulder, aiming down the sights at the one who noticed her. She waited a second before shooting the creature in the head.
GE-NEX Carolus 2 (played by Pirate)

The creature tore at Carolus' body armor and tried to yank the spine-like lower body out."Last warning, do not-" Before the Droid could finish speaking it smacked its giant rifle into the creatures face, making it screech in pain as it clutched its broken nose.

The Droid raised itself 90 degrees in an instant, with its rifle in its hands. Without warning, it fired at the beast, its gun making a slight electronic sound mixed with loud explosions with each shot. It looked rather silly, seeing as how it looked like he sat on the floor as if it had just slipped over an icy surface, but the fire was effective. Riddled with bullet wounds, the creature gave up on its fight to survive and fell lifeless on the floor.

As swiftly as Carolus fell, it got back on its feet."Scanning. Unknown personnel on board. Chance of being possible threats, 35 %." Seeing as how Caution just took out one of the furry creatures, the chances of it being a foe were substantially less than before."More unidentified personnel recognized. Please identify once there is no more danger." It spoke as it fired shots in small bursts at whatever monsters were getting near.
Alain Durand (played by Freyya)

Alain got into cover. "Where the hell is everyone coming from!" he yelled. over the sound of screaming monsters. "This place should be abandoned!" heemerged again and fired several bursts, dropping more of the monster. A click indicated he was out of ammo. He pulled the button on the side of the handle and the ammo container fell out as he quickly replaced it to resume fire.
Caution (played by Minajerie)

Two more uglies jumped out from the recked hallway. The baddie she had shot snarled, and pounced at the same time another started to charge her. A shot fired from behind her and Caution knew BB was doing her job of keeping her back free of furry nasties.

Unfortunately that helped little for her front. Taking two shots at the charger, causing him to falter and skid to a wounded heap at her feet. Dropping a knife in favor of catching the pouncing creature's neck, she brought the thing up close an personal. Giving it a toothy smile she then spat in the things face, aiming for its eyes. The yellow glowing liquid hit with a hiss, and Caution tossed the creature behind her as it started to howl in pain.

Pointing the barrel of The Gun at the creature she tapped it to silence its pained moans. The shot echoed the one behind her. Moving farward, she shot a few mor creatures, trying to get towards the humanoids so they weren't inadvertantly shooting at each other.
Belial (played by Minajerie)

Everything happens so fast in a battle. One of the beasts tried to get behind them, but BB saw it coming so had time to aim pefore putting it down with a bullet right between the eyes. It was barely a moment before a howling creature, obviously in pain, was tossed at her to dispatch. It took no time to plant a similar shot to end its misery.

Moving as Caution did, she made sure the larger dragon was always between her and them. When a creature surprised her, she tried to shoot it but the gun jammed with a sickening sound. "Piece of shit." Tossing the offensive piece of equipment at the creature she then used her tail to grab its neck and toss it at someone with a gun.

"Awww fudge." Ducking and scuttling towards where there were others.... With guns. Oh hey, look! Is that a Carolus? Man that thing looks damaged... not to mention kinda outdated. After a moment of rummaging in one of her pickets, she had a few tools out, with a glint in her eye that said she was about to fix something.

She slid to a stop beside the unit. "Keep me covered I'm just checking you functions real quick. You seem to be running damaged. Whose you master?" Glancing up at the droid then around her eyes caught on the cyborg who also seemed to be having some issues. Hopefully she caught her eye, when she motioned to the 'borg. "I'll take a look at you systems next."

Petra could hardly hold back a bitter laugh at Alain's words. "You're tellin' me!" she replied firing where she could. Seriously, abandoned? Whoever had said this place was abandoned had not given it a clear looking over. And if she ever met the person, they'd wish they'd taken the time to scout it more closely.

She returned fire, hearing guns around her. It reminded her of the old times in her ship, amongst her old crew. They were gone now, but she had her end of the bargain to uphold. She nearly shot one of the newer arrivals who had just spat and hurled a screaming humanoid overhead.

Then another one was sliding in beside the droid and fixing it. Oh great! A mechanic--exactly what she needed. Things were looking up. "Patch him up first," she agreed; the droid would be faster to mend; herself, if she could just get her cyborg gun arm to function...

She brought the butt of her gun down on a lever in her arm and a sheet of metal fell off. Inside were the grenades that she stored for emergencies. This would call for one.

"Flash-bang on the fly!" she yelled, as she threw one down the hallway where the mass of humanoid aliens were coming from. "Shield your eyes!"

In about five seconds, a blinding flash of light followed by a boom would occur, stunning anyone too close.
Nara turned her back to the flash-bang and closed her eyes. Her ears would hurt but at least she would still see when it went off. She was stil hiding in the shadows of the hall she was in so she was hoping none of the attacking humanoid creatures were looking at her when the flash-bang went off.
GE-NEX Carolus 2 (played by Pirate)

The Droid kept Belial covered as she crawled towards it. Seeing as how she recognized the Droid, she would probably also figure out this was a Carolus mark 2, the Droid who's production had been cancelled for years. They were once produced for military use, but the governments didn't buy as heavily as the GE-NEX corporation had anticipated. Then they tried to sell it to the population, but because of the heavy price they asked for these models they preferred the cheaper droid who could either shoot or clean, and not the one who could do both at once.

"Notion accepted. This unit suggests letting the GE-NEX company fix it instead, though." Carolus answered as it kept scanning for more baddies, of which there didn't seem to be an end."Checking database. Please wait." Its eyes stopped shining at that point and a rather gentle elevator tune started playing. This only lasted for a mere ten seconds though, and it abruptly stopped."None found. Consensus: this unit has been stolen." It finally replied as its eyes lit back up."This explains the recent scans. This is a pirate's ship. Please identity a new owner once this threat has been dealt with."

The Carolus had no trouble with the flashbang. It continued shooting as if nothing happened. Seeing as how most of these creatures were now covering their eyes and/or ears, they were easy pickings. Each time the Droid needed to reload, a mag just rolled down its arm into its hand for a very quick reload.
