Tonight before my burning fireplace. I see your beautiful faces. You got me past my darkness and out of the bottle. I believe in myself again. We're forever freinds. Tonight before my burning fireplace I see your beautiful faces. I closed the door to a world of wealth and opened the door to freedom. I'd rather be in my teepee than a mansion any day. I see all the great spirit has given to me. I'll be here for you like you were for me. Tonight before my burning fireplace. I see your beautiful faces. As my guitar plays "tangled up in blue". I pray all your dreams hopes wishes come true. I speak from my heart to your soul. This Sioux warrior is here for you. For every battle and war. I'll be by your side. To right every wrong. Tonight before my burning fireplace I see your beautiful faces. (Dedicated to Abigail dunedain and all my beautiful blessed wonderful freinds I've met on here.)

Awww thanks. That's pretty.

A Candlelit Night
It's funny how a soothing night alone can make you feel,
Sleepy and irrational,
Having your sadness crack and peel.

I think candles are bright at night,
Drifting along in a waxy flight.
Just you... and that light.
Beautiful... yet irrefutablely meaningless.

When that light fades out and all is still,
The authors lift up their quills.
And when the night owls feel the night's chill,
All will fall under the curse of the Yggdrasil.
Was reading Norse mythology and I thought... 'Hey! Isn't Ragnarok kind of a curse in some way?' So here you go. I was trying to go for a... demented prophet whose brain is scattered so they go from 'This is fine and dandy!' To 'WE WILL ALL DIE UNDER RAGNAROK!' type of thing. XD Whelp, I've all embarrassed you with my poetry skills that have not been used since 5th Grade so... bye.

That's interesting! Hehe Don't worry! I like it. And it's fun to do something you haven't done in a while.

Not The Same

They say the 'divide is the problem'
but they caused the split
shoved us down into the box
suffocating us grit tooth smile
screaming at us to quit

Shoved in a box that was
relabled to be 'gentle'
relabled to be 'fair'
only to those aren't oppressed
they say it's the same
yet don't share the blame
doesn't matter they say
we're too hard-pressed
to receive the justice that
they accuse us of already having
yet receive the human decency that
they insist they don't already have

How can we have something when
they're the ones who have to give it
hold it back from us
until we agree to their position
it's handcuffs of their privilege
holding us hostage accusing omission
until we agree that they're 'as hurt
as us'
until we're too tired to fight

But the truth is they're already on the other side,
blocking us from the light.

I wrote this poem for a school project
Its about a girl looking at a lynched man during the civil rights movement

Poem: Why Look
What are you looking at
The man that is lynched
You feel it is terrific
I think it is horrendous
The picture I took for history
It is a terrible picture
A human being being slain
He was lynched and murdered
Because the color of skin
Why do you think it’s good
As you look at him
You think it is wonderful
As a life is decimated
For no reason for demise
The clouds are low and dreary
The men look with contentment
I smell a awful scent
I can’t look at it
Why are you looking
Why look, why look, why...

Its the best I can think of

Interesting topic

Nice poem
One last Curtain Call
The show is done
The applause is gone
The lights are off
The stage is bare

You and I
Walk the isles hand in hand
Empty seats surround us
Imaginary people watch us
As we climb onto the stage

I am sorry my friend
That our time
Has to end
But the tunnel's light is here

We lift our arms above our heads
Taking a final bow
Silent cheers fill the air
Transparent roses tossed

I look to you
To find only air
Now I'm all alone

All I can is thank you
For your friendship
For your kindness
For our last curtain call

Thank you, and it's okay. Hah... most of my poetry is like that. I do have quite a few I would like to share, not all of them depressing.

Light Reflected
The river’s brow is crowned with white,
Reminiscent of ardent spite.
It’s tainted now with pink and brawn
Contrasting with the silver night.

The day smears past the vibrant dawn
Into a gray phenomenon.
These pillars of majestic hues
Have on the river been redrawn.

Within the waters, one might muse
And watch the clouds be burnt with blues
Which slink on out from craven sky;
Against the mists, they’ll surely lose.

The heavens there thunder on high
And overswarm the lighted “lie.”
The landscape ducks, permitting way
To shadow’s smirk as colors die.

Through dusk and night and dawn and day,
The river shows this bitter play.
Impassive, it reflects the cloud
But comforts, too, the colors stray.

They creep to it within the shroud
To see their light reflected loud.
Even faded as they might be,
The river brightens up the crowd.

The river glows with ecstasy
When renewed hues fight biblically.
But though as much it’d not conceed,
It’s own surface it cannot see.

Your guys’ poetry is impressive.
Weakness

Can't stop thinking,
You won't stop me,
Find me weeping,
kiss me sweetly,
hold me tightly,
through these memories,
through the joy, and even this misery
And through the bleakness, of this sickness
my only fear, and my only weakness
was losing you.

Soul wrenching fear
Not here
Not here
Breathtaking cries
Not there
Not there
It's done
It's gone
You can overcome
That's what they say
What they say
But do they know…

The heart crushing weight
Not here
Not here
The body aching shakes
Not there
Not there
It's done
It's gone
Doesn't
Work

Phantom pains
Tears that rain
A body that quakes
At
Every

It's done
It's gone
You can overcome

That's what they say…
And...

The Longest Poem Ever

What can I say
To make to you feel
The way that I do

If you could feel
What I feel
You would see

How do you
Find the words
That hit just
The right chord
That make me explode
That make me high

I wish I could give you
Just the right words
That make you know
How much
You are loved

I wish I could give you
A moment in time
When you feel
All my gratitude
Fall on you like an avalanche
A moment where you
Feel it all at once

When you know
What you do for me,
So many times,
You've done for me
The beauty in our words that doesn't show

Cause there's a conversation
But it's more than conversation
There are words
And there are thoughts
But there's something so much greater
Yes, there's grace
There's the mercy of a soul
Who will touch another soul
So that they won't feel alone
Yes, there's something
Something higher
Something bigger
Something unspoken
Something never not amazing
Something sacred,
Almost holy
Like a light that floods the darkness
With your beauty
With your grace
With your mercy
With the fact that you would talk to me
And I never will know why
And that's why it's so amazing
Cuz it's love
From a vacuum
Cuz it's beauty
From nothing
For no reason
Just to be.

Just to be
It's just kindness
And it breaks on the horizon
Like the sun
In the sky
And you didn't even ask
It to shine
But it shines
Because that is in its nature
And that's you.
Yeah, that's you.
Being graceful for no reason

Being loving,
Being kind,
And I know it's just an hour
Or two
And I know
You get something from it, too

And I know
Some will say
What are words?
Words are nothing,
But there's so much more than words in your song.

So how can I
Ever find
The right words to ever show you
That you are like the morning
That you are like the starshine
In the depths of the night
Sometimes

It sneaks up on you
And you didn't even
Think that you were hurting
Then somebody
Says the right words
And you realize that you need them
And you realize
Just how parched your soul has been until they said them
And you're staring at the screen and thinking,
Why does this affection
Make me weak

It makes me weak
Has it been that long?
Have I've been that alone?

And you know
It probably passed their lips
Without them even knowing
That it watered your soul
Or that it touched you

And you say
What you feel
But it will never be as real
As the feeling is inside
It's like a flood, it's like a tide
So you're speechless
And you answer
Cordially

And there are moments
Where I say
A statement oh-so-casually
Something like
Like, that "you don't know
How much you mean to me."

But I say that all the time
We both say it all the time
And I didn't
Even feel much
When I typed those simple lines
It was simply reassurance
Simply words that are the truth
And they suddenly hit home
And they got to you

It's funny how that works
When I'm just
Saying something
Just a wish for your life
Just a hope for your future
Just some words to pass the time

Then you'll tell me
That they hit you
And you'll tell me
Just how much
And you'll joke, it's inconvenient
And you'll joke that it's just nerves
As if you didn't like it
But I know what you mean
Because your words, they get me too,
At the most unusual times

Ambush me at a silly name
Accost me at goodbye, at the thank you, at the "did you know...you know I really care, don't you?"

They ambush me
And fill me up
And even fill my eyes
With the tears
Of silent gratitude
'Cause even though it's small
Just like water,
It keeps flowing
And it's chipping
At the wall
At that barrier
That tells me
You don't matter,
Not at all

No one likes you
No one knows you
No one understands

Then, there you are
You keep saying things
That make me feel I matter
Saying things, that, all together
Equal up to say, "I love you,"

And, God, you've no idea
How you sometimes make me feel
Just, you know, sometimes.

I bet you sometimes feel it too.
Yes, I know you probably do.
Just, maybe, sometimes.

But it's funny.
All I'm saying
Is I wish I had the words sometimes
To make you feel that feeling
Even though sometimes you hate it
Just to make that feeling hit you
Where you know---you're so appreciated
Where you know, you are so cherished
You're so treasured,
You're so lovely
You're so loved.

Maybe
It could be
Just one word
I need a word
So that I
Can make you feel it
At the moment
That I feel it
At the moment
That you tell me
Something sweet
And it gets underneath my wall
It finds a hole
In my armour
And it makes it's way inside
I can't hide
From the beauty
And it quickly makes me cry
That's when I
Would say the word
And make you feel it

And when you feel it
Like I feel it
At the moment
That I feel it
I don't know
What would happen
Maybe something
Probably nothing
But it feels
As if worlds
Would collide
And the world
Would explode
Into sweet oblivion

Between the lightning and thunder. I wonder what you saw in me. You lived your mansion life a wealthy playboy I was your trophy girlfriend. A sex toy. Our ending was my beginning. Between the lightning and thunder. I wonder what you saw in me. In the changing leaves of autumn the winter winds where you hid your lies and sins in the flowers and rains of spring in the beauty and power of a summer storm. Between the lightning and thunder. I wonder what you saw in me. You lost out on my heart love soul spirit. I was never one of your possessions. I'm a Sioux warrior I'll fight my battles and wars with my scars wounds. I'm so alive you're dead inside. Between the lightning and thunder. I wonder what you saw in me.

Again, nice words. Thank you for sharing.

StarryStarryNight (played anonymously)

Do You Ever?

Do you ever try as hard as you can
To get something that you can never keep?
To try something you don't want to succeed?
You run at top speed
To somewhere you don't want to be.

With every single signal
Your heart begins to race
And every time a barrier falls
A smile lights up your face

Oh, the drive, it's so powerful
I'm trying not to try
But every time I hear her voice
I feel like I could die

Do you ever try to win somebody's heart
When you fear that, if you do, they'll fall apart?
And you tell yourself you ought to stay away?
You can't stop coming back,
You're like a moth drawn to a flame.

Do you ever take it right up to the edge
Just to feel that calming buzz inside your head
But you know you'll fall and drag them down instead
You thought that you could fly
But your boots are made of lead

Oh, I just want to know her
I just want to read
Oh, I just want a picture
I just want to see
Oh, I just want to hear her voice
That's really all I need
Oh, I just want to hold her...

I just want to hold her...

I just need to hold her in the dark and hear her sing...

Oh, god...

I just want to hear her voice
(Quiet now, be quiet now.)
I just want to have a choice.
(Quiet now, be quiet now.)
Now, I finally heard her voice.
(Quiet now, be quiet now.)
I just want to hold her in the dark and hear her sing...
(Shut up!)

What's wrong with me? What's wrong with me?
It's taking over my daydreams.
Well, don't believe your daydreams.
What's the use of daydreams?

What are you doing?
Keep your daydreams!
But you're wanting more and more
Of the real estate inside her head
What will you use it for?

And silly as it sounds right now
What if she fell for you?
She's got her whole life planned out,
Then what would you do?

There'd be nothing
Only heartbreak
What a damn waste
Of a heartache

Yet you try,
You can't stop trying
Yes you lie
You can't stop lying
To yourself
About your feelings.
And it's working
Yes it's working
'Cause we have
So much in common
But I don't know why I'm trying
It will leave somebody crying
But I want it
No I need it
'Cause the building blocks for friendship
Are the building blocks for romance
So I'm building a foundation
For a house I'll never build
Installing irrigation
In the soil I'll never till

But the building blocks of friendship
Are the building blocks of love
I can admire it from a distance
I can watch it from above

Maybe I can even touch it,
But I can't hold on too tight
Cause we've both
Got someone else
To keep us warm
Throughout the night.

But god, I wish that I could hold her
For the feeling that would bring
I'd hold her tight and keep the darkness out
And just listen to her sing

Her voice would wash over me
Full of sweet sentimentality Endearing vulnerability
I need to hear her sing for me

And hold her when it's all too much
Sometimes we all need a tender touch
And tears can fall, they won't be seen
They'll dry up if we start to sing

I'll go low and you'll go high
We'll sing until our lungs go dry
We'll blast the radio and scream and shout
And wax philosophical until the stars come out

Just one time
Just one day,
Please?
But 'once' can bring us to our knees.

Just once,
I say,
But we know I'm mistaken.
'Cause "just once" becomes forever.

And forever's taken.
Carry me Away

Carry me away
With your smooth melody
Drown out
This Hell with your comforting lyrics
Take me far
From where I am,
Lonely and miserable

Carry me away
With the chorus
Drown out
My fears, emotions and tears
Take me far
From things that make it worse

Save me
From the unnecessary pity
Push away
The demons trying to take over
Help me
Get away from this hell

Save me
With your strong arms
Push away
The negative and evil
Help me
Stay strong

So Carry me away
With your smooth melody
Drown out
This hell with your comforting lyrics
And take me far
From where I am,
Lonely and miserable

Oh please
Carry me away
And keep me sane
Oh please
Carry me away
And keep me strong
As I try to hold on

So Carry me away,
Music,
Carry me away

Warning, this one is a little scary...

Hide

Lock the door
Turn out the lights
Hurry, they're coming

Floors creak
Mother weeps
Hurry, they're coming

Daddy's got a gun
Brother's on the run
Hurry, they're coming

Oh no, hear that?
Daddy's taken down by a bat
Hurry, they're coming

Closer they come
Time is almost done
Hurry, they're coming

Blood drips
Mommy's life slips
Hurry, they're coming

Sister, why
Are you saying goodbye?
Hurry, they're coming

Brother drops
His hearts stops
Hurry, they're coming

Sister's screams
Fill my dreams
Hurry, they're coming

Hide, Hide,
Or side by side
We will lay in the grave

Hide, Hide,
Or you'll die
Hurry, they're coming

Here comes the light,
Fight or flight,
Hurry, they're coming

THE GMDM MOUNTAINS
One evening as the site when down, and the maintenance timer was burning,
down the threads came a party raging, for their OPs never coming.
Hes headed for a land that is far away, beyond the IC fountains,
In a place where one can dream and scheme: the GMDM Mountains.

In the GMDM Mountains, theres a land thats fair and bright,
where profiles grow on bushes, and theres replies every night.
Where every rolls a natural, and the sun shines everyday,
on the bird and the bees in the paragraph trees near the synonym springs
where the l33ts all scream, in the GMDM Mountains.

In the GMDM Mountains, cliches just don't exist.
PC themes are unique and great, so the GM can take the piss.
BBcode does everything you need, and theres even HMTL.
Well I'm bound to go where great tales grow, where the code dont blow, 404s dont show, in the GMDM Mountains.

In the GMDM Mountains, your writing always rocks.
So you throw away the alcohol, and the caffeine pills you pop.
Wizards of the Coast returns your calls, and you reply with "sup?"
Theres fame, awards, and a book deal too; you paddle all around it
in a cash canoe, in the GMDMMountains.

In the GMDM Mountains, writers blocks a choice, where you can always flip it off, so the readers all rejoice.
RL is not some 9 to 5, because you've monetized your thoughts.
So you sit and stay, where you think all day, in the GMDM Mountains
