Hey all, Lucian here. So, recently, those who've been roleplaying with me have been noticing a great lack of replies from me. Well, I might as well go ahead, get this off my chest and explain it to the best of my ability.
...

When my mum died back in '14, I went to live with a friend and his mom in order to "get my life in order". During that time, she forbade me from continuing my roleplays because they had sexual content and thought I would get in trouble, despite my best efforts to the contrary. Thus, because of a lack of writing, that part of my brain grew stagnant and essentially atrophied. Now, because of this, it's gotten particularly hard for me to answer a reply, especially to an engaging story. Even my character writing has suffered due to that restriction.

And so, in short, I'm thinking of closing my roleplay accounts and putting this to rest. I don't want everyone sitting around for weeks and months on end waiting for a reply that may or may not come. If I could get everyone's opinion, I'd deeply appreciate it.

P.S.: If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me.

I personally don't know you, but you are a friend of my husbands. If I may be so bold Lucian, don't rush to a conclusion or decision yet to close your accounts. Give yourself time, give your brain time. You had a major change pushed upon you. It takes time to recover from that and feel okay to spread your wings again. Obligations to continue current roleplays can also wear on you, adding extra weight, but you've done great by posting this. Being open and honest with them and everyone and letting people know where you are sitting.

But in no way do I think you should continue what was implemented upon you. Just, give yourself time to get those creative juices flowing again, and feel safe and confident in doing so. Don't give up. <3

D'you think that maybe, because I wanted to get back into so much, kinda burned my "writing brain", so to speak?

I think it could have, but there's so many variables in play here. Like I said before, it could be the weight of obligation, it could be that it takes time. It could be one or all of these things, and more. But don't give up on yourself, don't jump the gun and do yourself a disservice. Give it time, give yourself time. Breathe, mull it over. <3
Have you considered just trying to do one-liners with maybe a good friend? It's something that came to me. Maybe if you started small again it would help you re-build yourself once more. Just don't focus on stuff like multi-para or novella, do small stuff like one-liners, semi or para.

Brain atrophy's NOT GOOD. OH! Another thing, maybe if you read a few books that'll help a little. I dunno, it's a thought. Maybe reading something you really liked would make you want to write again. It's actually worked for me before.
