Linking this song not necessarily for the lyrics but the singing is literally amazing. I personally love the lyrics, if you listen and interpret the lyrics closely you hear things that reference things about the revolution... and yeah.
Song: The Great War
Album: The Great War (2019)
Artist: Sabaton

“Where dead men lies I'm paralyzed,
My brothers' eyes are gone,
And he shall be buried here,
Nameless marks his grave.

Mother home, get a telegram
And shed a tear of grief,
Mud and blood, in foreign land,
Trying to understand.

Where is this Greatness I've been told?
This is the lies that we've been sold.
Is this a worthy sacrifice?”

Something about “Is this a worthy sacrifice?” both hit the feels, and made me get the chills...World War I must’ve been horrifying, and the world can only hope another World War won’t break out.
Without Me :By Halsey

Found you when your heart was broke
I filled your cup until it overflowed
Took it so far to keep you close (keep you close)
I was afraid to leave you on your own

I said I'd catch you if you fall (fall)
And if they laugh, then **** 'em all (all)
And then I got you off your knees
Put you right back on your feet
Just so you could take advantage of me

Tell me, how's it feel sittin' up there?
Feeling so high, but too far away to hold me
You know I'm the one who put you up there
Name in the sky, does it ever get lonely?
Thinking you could live without me
Thinking you could live without me
Baby, I'm the one who put you up there
I don't know why (yeah, I don't know why)
Thinking you could live without me
Live without me
Baby, I'm the one who put you up there
I don't know why (I don't know why, yeah, yeah)

Gave love 'bout a hundred tries (hundred tries)
Just running from the demons in your mind
Then I took yours and made 'em mine (mine)
I didn't notice 'cause my love was blind

Said I'd catch you if you fall (fall)

I would recommend bleeping out the f-word because it's against the site rules to use the language on a public forum.
The fire emblem 3 houses main theme is totally awesome.

Reach for my hand, I’ll soar away into the dawn, oh, I wish I could stay. Here in cherished halls, in peaceful days I fear the edge of dawn knowing time betrays.

Daylight’s passed through colored glass, in this beloved place. Silver shines, the world dines, a smile on each face.

As choice surrounds, come out of bounds and I can feel them breaking free. For just this moment lost in time, I am finally me.

Yet still I hide, behind this mask that I have become. My blackened heart, scorched by flames of force I can’t run from.

I look to you, like a red rose seeking the sun no matter where it goes. I long to stay, where the light dwells to guard against the cold that I know so well.

I've never seen GoT but I really like this song. XD

"Heavy is the crown never for a queen."

"How do I ever know? Who can I trust? Feelings of emptiness. Only love could kill me, God bless."

"Danger's on my mind. Ain't no knife, dagger, bullet that can do it."

Jefferson Airplane - House at Pooneil Corners

You and me we keep walkin' around and we see
All the bullsh*t around us
You try and keep your mind on what's going down
Can't help but see the rhinoceros around us

And you wonder what you can be
And you do what you can
To get balled and high ...

And you know I'm still goin' need you around

You say it's healing but nobody's feeling it
Somebody's dealing, somebody's stealing it
You say you don't see and you don't ...
You say you won't know and you won't .... let it come

Everything someday will be gone except silence
Earth will be quiet again
Seas from clouds will wash off the ashes of violence
Left as the memory of men
There will be no survivor my friend

Suddenly everyone will look surprised
Stars spinning wheels in the skies
Sun is scrambled in their eyes
While the moon circles .... like a vulture ....

Some stood at a window and cried One tear
I thought that should stop a war...
But someone ...is... killing.... me'

That's the last hour to think anymore
Jelly and juice and bubbles, bubbles on the floor

Castles on the cliffs vanish
Cliffs like heaps of rubbish
Seen from the stars hour by hour
As splintered scraps and black powder

From here... to heaven.... is a scar
Dead center,... deep as death
All the idiots have left

The cows are almost cooing
Turtle doves are mooing
Which is why a poo is pooing
In the sun
Sun

... and MORE Jefferson Airplane. This song is one that brings a tear to my eye...

Coming Back To Me

The summer had inhaled and held its breath too long
The winter looked the same, as if it never had gone
And through an open window where no curtain hung

I saw you
I saw you
Comin' back to me

One begins to read between the pages of a book
The shape of sleepy music, and suddenly you're hooked
Through the rain upon the trees, the kisses on the run

I saw you
I saw you
Comin' back to me

You came to stay and live my way
Scatter my love like leaves in the wind
You always say you won't go away
But I know what it always has been
It always has been
A transparent dream beneath an occasional sigh
Most of the time I just let it go by
Now I wish it hadn't begun

I saw you, yes, I saw you
Comin' back to me

Strolling the hills overlooking the shore
I realized I've been there before
The shadow in the mist could have been anyone

I saw you
I saw you
Comin' back to me

Small things like reasons are put in a jar
Whatever happened to wishes wished upon a star?
Was it just something that I made up for fun?
I saw you, I saw you comin' back to me

This is a wack song but I like it

Move like a soldier

I’m going nuts here
Thinking how I could’ve been brave, not a quitter
Yes I can stop now, but I’m going to practice my aim in the mirror
Tonight, I’m holding out till the morning
I’m holding out till the morning comes
And I can have your attention
Show you how I’m the only one

To break down your walls
Highjack your brain
Run through your veins
I’m going to move like a soldier (I’m going like a tank)
I’m going to move like a soldier (I’m go-going like a tank)

I’m going to crawl through your skin
Get through your head
Fight ‘till the end
I’m going to move like a soldier (I’m going like a tank)
I’m going to move like a soldier (I’m go-going like a tank)

It’s such a letdown
How come I just can’t put my money where my mouth is, yeah
Instead of letting me down, I should be feeling you up
Instead of running away, I should be making you stay
Tonight (tonight)
I’m holding onto the moon
It comes, when I can get your attention (attention)
And show how you how I’m the only one

To break down your walls
Highjack your brain
Run through your veins
I’m going to move like a soldier (I’m going like a tank)
I’m going to move like a soldier (I’m go-going like a tank)

I’m going to crawl through your skin
Get through your head
Fight ‘till the end
I’m going to move like a soldier (I’m going like a tank)
I’m going to move like a soldier (I’m go-going like a tank)

When I find you, not going to let you go
When I find you, not going to let you go
When I find you, I’ll never let you go

I’m going to break down your walls (your walls)
Highjack your brain (your brain)
Run through your veins
I’m going to move like a soldier (I’m going like a tank)
I’m going to move like a soldier (I’m go-going like a tank)

I’m going to crawl through your skin (your skin)
Get through your head (your head)
Fight ‘till the end (uh uh)
I’m going to move like a soldier (I’m going like a tank)
I’m going to move like a soldier (I’m go-going like a tank)

Ever Since the World Began by The Yardbirds

Ever since the world began,
Satan's followed every man.
Trapping evil if he can,
I tell you now his greatest plan.
Invented when I cannot tell,
Defied the thoughts of man so well.
Man wants money for his need,
But soon it sows its evil seed.
Unhappiness it only brings,
As man wants more and better things.
If not enough the evil lies,
But soon you'll find somebody dies.
Throughout the years there have been wars,
Power and richness have been the cause.
Trapped in money's evil net,
Man wants more than he can get.

You don't need money.
No, no, no, no,
You don't need money.
No, no, no, no,
You don't need money.
It'll never bring you love,
No more than the sun above.
You'll never see the end,
The money you will surely spend.
But ask for help if you sin,
Reclaim yourself, what a state you're in.
The devil has you in his grasp,
There ain't no mercy you can ask.
More and more you will need,
You're strangled in the clutch of greed.
You can't get out, no place to go,
You sold your soul, the answer's no!

For clarification, these words speak to me on more than a religious level--I just feel they exemplify, really well, just how much we can't know how our words and actions impact others. Sometimes the consequences of what we say or do reverberate down through history decades after we're gone, sometimes we're still alive but we never meet the person/people again, and yet that one single moment has a lasting impact on the rest of their life.

Three Wooden Crosses ~ Singer: Randy Travis

A farmer and a teacher, a hooker and a preacher
Ridin' on a midnight bus bound for Mexico
One's headed for vacation, one for higher education
And two of them were searchin' for lost souls
That driver never ever saw the stop sign
And eighteen wheelers can't stop on a dime

There are three wooden crosses on the right side of the highway
Why there's not four of them, Heaven only knows
I guess it's not what you take when you leave this world behind you
It's what you leave behind you when you go

That farmer left a harvest, a home and eighty acres
The faith and love for growin' things in his young son's heart
And that teacher left her wisdom in the minds of lots of children
Did her best to give 'em all a better start
And that preacher whispered, "Can't you see the Promised Land?"
As he laid his blood-stained bible in that hooker's hand

There are three wooden crosses on the right side of the highway
Why there's not four of them, Heaven only knows
I guess it's not what you take when you leave this world behind you
It's what you leave behind you when you go

That's the story that our preacher told last Sunday
As he held that blood-stained bible up
For all of us to see
He said "Bless the farmer, and the teacher, and the preacher
Who gave this Bible to my mama
Who read it to me"

There are three wooden crosses on the right side of the highway
Why there's not four of them, now I guess we know
It's not what you take when you leave this world behind you
It's what you leave behind you when you go

There are three wooden crosses on the right side of the highway

"My god it's so perverted,
to call yourself a legend,
'cause I never met a hero,
who would leave you in the trenches."

but it's easier than breaking down.
The reason in your loose interpretation,
in a sea of mother ****ers man, you were no salvation."

Operator by Jim Croche

"Operator?
Well, could you help me place this call?
See, the number on the matchbook is old and faded

She's living in L.A.
with my best old ex-friend Ray
A guy she said she knew well and sometimes hated

But isn't that the way they say it goes?

Well, let's forget all that
And give me the number
if you can find it
So I can call just to
tell them I'm fine

And to show...
I've overcome the blow,

I've learned to take it well
I only wish my words
Could just convince myself
That it just wasn't real,
but that's not the way it feels

Operator?
Well, could you help me place this call?
I can't read the number that you just gave me.

There's something in my eyes,
You know, it happens every time;
I think about a love that I thought would save me.

But isn't that the way they say it goes?

Well, let's forget all that
And give me the number
if you can find it
So I can call just to
tell them I'm fine

And to show...
I've overcome the blow...

Operator?
Well, let's forget about this call.
There's no one there
I really wanted to talk to.
Thank you for your time,
You've been so much more than kind.
And you can keep the dime."

Same Ole Lang Syne, by Dan Fogelberg

"Same Old Lang Syne"

Met my old lover in the grocery store
The snow was falling Christmas Eve
I stole behind her in the frozen foods
And I touched her on the sleeve

She didn't recognize the face at first
But then her eyes flew open wide
She went to hug me and she spilled her purse
And we laughed until we cried

We took her groceries to the checkout stand
The food was totaled up and bagged
We stood there lost in our embarrassment
As the conversation dragged

Went to have ourselves a drink or two
But couldn't find an open bar
We bought a six-pack at the liquor store
And we drank it in her car

We drank a toast to innocence
We drank a toast to now
And tried to reach beyond the emptiness
But neither one knew how

She said she'd married her an architect
Who kept her warm and safe and dry
She would have liked to say she loved the man
But she didn't like to lie

I said the years had been a friend to her
And that her eyes were still as blue
But in those eyes I wasn't sure if I
Saw doubt or gratitude

She said she saw me in the record stores
And that I must be doing well
I said the audience was heavenly
But the traveling was hell

We drank a toast to innocence
We drank a toast to now
And tried to reach beyond the emptiness
But neither one knew how

We drank a toast to innocence
We drank a toast to time
Reliving in our eloquence
Another 'auld lang syne'

The beer was empty and our tongues were tired
And running out of things to say
She gave a kiss to me as I got out
And I watched her drive away

Just for a moment I was back at school
And felt that old familiar pain
And as I turned to make my way back home
The snow turned into rain.

It Used To Be Her Town, by James Taylor

She's been afraid to go out
She's afraid of the knock on her door
There's always a shade of a doubt
She can never be sure
Who comes to call
Maybe the friend of a friend of a friend
Anyone at all
Anything but nothing again
It used to be her town
It used to be her town, too
It used to be her town
It used to be her town, too
Seems like even her old girlfriends
Might be talking her down
She's got her name on the grapevine
Running up and down
The telephone line
Talking 'bout
Someone said, someone said
Something 'bout, something else
Someone might have said about her
She always figured that they were her friends
But maybe they can live without her
It used to be her town
It used to be her town, too
It used to be her town
It used to be her town, too
Well, people got used to seeing them both together
But now he's gone and life goes on
Nothing lasts forever, oh no
She gets the house and the garden
He gets the boys in the band
Some of them his friends
Some of them her friends
Some of them understand
Lord knows that this is just a small town city
Yes, and everyone can see you fall
It's got nothing to do with pity
I just wanted to give you a call
It used to be your town
It used to be my town, too
You never know 'till it all falls down
Somebody loves you
Somebody loves you
Darling, somebody still loves you
I can still remember
When it used to be her town, too
It used to be your town
It used to be my town, too

I love this song because it has such a wide range of emotion. Fright, determination, sadness, hope, desperation, and confusion. I love how Christy Altomare portrays the emotion through this song, making us feel the same thing Anya does in this musical.

LYRICS

They said I was found
By the side of a road
There were tracks all around
It had recently snowed
In the darkness and cold
The wind in the trees
A girl with no name
And no memories, but these
Rain against a window
Sheets upon a bed
Terrifying nurses
Whispering overhead
“Call the child Anya
Give the child a hat”
I don’t know a thing before that
Traveling the back roads
Sleeping in the wood
Taking what I needed
Working when I could
Keeping up my courage
As foolish as it seems
At night all alone in my dreams
In my dreams
Shadows call
There’s a light
At the end of a hall
Then my dreams
Fade away
But I know it all will come back
One day
I dream of a city
Beyond all compare
Is it Paris?
Paris
A beautiful river
A bridge by a square
And I hear a voice whisper
“I’ll meet you right there In Paris”
Paris
You don’t know what it’s like
Not to know who you are
To have lived in the shadows
And travel this far
I’ve seen flashes of fire
Heard the echos of screams
But I still have this faith
In the truth of my dreams

In my dreams
It’s all real
And my heart has so much to reveal
And my dreams
Seem to say
“Don’t be afraid to go on
Don’t give up hope
Come what may”
I know it all will come back
One day
"Turmoil at the front
Wilhelm's forces on the hunt
There's a thunder in the east
It's an attack of the deceased
They've been facing poison gas
7,000 charge en masse
Turn the tide of the attack
And force the enemy to turn back

And that's when the dead men are marching again

Osowiec then and again
Attack of the dead, hundred men
Facing the lead once again
Hundred men charge again, die again
Osowiec then and again
Attack of the dead, hundred men
Facing the lead once again
Hundred men charge again, die againTwo combatants spar
Hindenburg against the Tsar
Move in 12 battalions large
Into a Russian counter-charge
They'll be fighting for their lives
As their enemy revives
Russians won't surrender, no
Striking fear into their foe

And that's when the dead men are marching again

Osowiec then and again
Attack of the dead, hundred men
Facing the lead once again
Hundred men charge again, die again
Osowiec then and again
Attack of the dead, hundred men
Facing the lead once again
Hundred men charge again, die again"

"Attack of the Dead Men", by Sabaton.

I love Sabaton for not only being my "history teacher", but the songs each tell a story, a different story. You could be all the way on the battleship Bismarck, to the fields of Verdun, and so on!

Collage by The James Gang
Written by Joe Walsh and Pat Cullie

Blue for the blue I feel when I'm feelin down on the ground
Feelin' down
That could be most any day

Green for the eyes, take look around
When the sun goes down and the sun goes down
In the strangest way

Red for the light, got to stop this thing
Find a song to sing that is everything
That I meant to say
Meant to say

Three for the mice that are blind like the world
Never see the good that is done, just the bad
It's too late to see

Two of us make it easier to read the signs
Memorize the lines
Will you play with me?

One for the road, I'll be on my way
Come another day, when the things we say
Find a way to be
Way to be

Autumn calls for a change of year, bringing winter near us
Green to brown and the sky's a sign
Wintertime is a razor blade that the devil made
It's the price we pay for the summertime

Spring days come, it's hard to know
Where the rain comes from, where the children go
It's a nursery rhyme

Broken Crown
By Mumford and Sons

(Honestly these guys had made a lot of songs that I love)

Touch my mouth
And hold my tongue
I'll never be your chosen one
I'll be home, safely tucked away
You can't tempt me if I don't see the day

The pull on my flesh is just too strong
It stifles the choice and the air in my lungs
Better not to breathe than to breathe a lie
When I open my body and breathe alive

I will not speak of your sin
There was no way out for him
The mirror shows not
Your values are all shot

But oh, my heart was flawed
I knew my weakness
So hold my hand
Consign me not to darkness

Loved their first album. Saw them live a couple times. Remember Laneway 2009 when they got off the plane from wintery London to steamy Brisbane to play a gig. My favourite song of theirs is Thistle And Weeds

Spare me your judgments and spare me your dreams
'Cause recently mine have been tearing my seams
I sit alone in this winter clarity which clouds my mind

Alone in the wind and the rain you left me
It's getting dark darling, too dark to see
And I'm on my knees, and your faith in shreds, it seems

Corrupted by the simple sniff of riches blown
I know you have felt much more love than you've shown
And I'm on my knees and the water creeps to my chest

But plant your hope with good seeds
Don't cover yourself with thistle and weeds
Rain down, rain down on me

Look over your hills and be still
The sky above us shoots to kill
Rain down, rain down on me

Oh I will hold on
I will hold on hope

Oh I will hold on
I will hold on hope

Oh I will hold on
I will hold on hope

I will hold on
I will hold on hope

I will hold on
I will hold on

I begged you to hear me, there's more than flesh and bones
Let the dead bury their dead, they will come out in droves
But take the spade from my hands and fill in the holes you've made

Plant your hope with good seeds
Don't cover yourself with thistle and weeds
Rain down, rain down on me
