There was no reasponce for awhile. “I know...” she mumbled after at least 5 minutes of utter silence. “I don’t know what went wrong, everything went as planned in tests....” she muttered before just stopping the connection to probably go hit her head against the wall.
Desmond Stroud (played by Dehzinn)

Desmond looked through the CH-47's windows, nothing happened. He looked towards Ross, ''Sir, requesting permition to handle the bomb'', he said, making his squad leader turn around. ''Rookie, we cannot guarantee that it will blow up even if you are on the ground'', he said. ''I know it, sir'', Desmond replied, and Rosss told the pilot to take them down, ''Simon is going with you, he's the technician, you're the muscle'', Ross said, as the CH-47 flew over the bomb in circles. The bomb had fallen exactly in the center of the city square, and there were already infected around it, going to check out whatever was the thing that landed there.

Marina turned the communicator back on and sighed into it, "It will be fatal to be opening it manually, and when it does open, there is a possibility the infected will swarm towards it." she muttered, pulling away, handing it off to the man who designed the bomb itself. "SO i understand you are going to tyr and manually get it to go off?" he said.

Ross stared at desmond, it was impossible to tell what he was thinking right now since he was already using his full face helmet that had the white skull on it's visor. Desmond just nodded to Ross, and then got up, grabbing his M14, ''I'll handle it sir'', he said, emontionless, but actually his heart was beating fast and strong from inside his guts, giving an impression that it would jump off his chest.

Simon was more nervous than Desmond, still, he couldn't back out from that, ''Yeah, you can count on me'', he said quickly. Ross nodded and reached his transmitter, ''We need the det codes'', he said, putting the transmitter near his mouth to make the message clear. ''Simon, you are going to land the pavelow near the device, and activate it while Desmond gives you cover, everything on this operation depends on you now'', Ross said, it was a bitter feeling to send his men to their certain deaths. Ross grabbed his assault rifle that was leaned at a passengers seat inside the CH-47, ''And I'm going as well'', he said, putting his helmet on aswell.

The man stiffed a cough, being a smoker, before responding. "Sorry for the stupid code..it will probably make me sound like a little kid..." he said, muttering the last half, before speaking up after clearing his throat. "0000. Now listen here, before you laugh, it was because we didn't plan on doing this at all. When you punch that into the little number pannel on one of the two big bans on the bomb, run. You have 3 seconds. Sorry for the small about of time but," he paused to sigh, "I was rushed and couldn't get correctly.. Merely a defect, the rest give 20 seconds." he said, coughing again, requesting some water.
In the background someone was talking and then the communicator cut out. It was all up to them now.
Desmond Stroud (played by Dehzinn)

The CH-47 landed, and both Ross and Desmond ran through the landing ramp and sprinted to the bomb, that had fallen on a dried out fountain in the middle of the city square, soon after the pavelow landed, but it didn't took off, since the only crew inside of it were Simon and Marcus, who apparently decided to go in with them aswell. They all regrouped around the bomb, that didn't seem to take much hit since it had a parachute to soft it's punch on the way down. Ross looked around, the city square was plain, with only a few benches and no walls, ''This place is hardly defendable'', he said and looked to the buildings nearby, ''Marcus, you're the weapon specialist, i need you to stay on the third floor of that building", he said, poiting towards an old and semi-destroyed building that looked like a roman structure, ''Yeah, that one, there's a window over there, go", he continued, and Marcus was already running towards the building, "Desmond, you and I will cover Simon while he tries to activate this thing", he said, and Desmond noticed that it was one of the few times that he had called him by his name other than 'Rookie', 'Newguy' or 'Squirt', usually that meant bad news.

Simon had put his Sub machinegun aside, it was the FN-P90, made in belgium, he had attached a silencer to it. He turned his head quickly toward the group, ''This is going to take some time, the control pannel is fried!", he said and then paused, "This shit is leaking the fumes already! the infected will be here any minute now", he continued, obviously nervous. Ross lock and loaded his rifle, "Get it done", he said, already putting a small mob of infected that ran towards them between his rifle's sight, waiting for them to be in range. Desmond was already shooting his M-14.

A really loud crash fell from the communicator, followed by "Crap, Marc, pick it up! And some one, find that stupid robot! It's missing again." before the, already wavering signal, cut out totally. The communitarian on the other end, probably fried thanks to being dropped, since the little item was very easily breakable.
The infected where coming. You could hear them, the heavy breathing, the occasional, unnatural scream, the roar. Not good. Clearly, there were a lot, and clearly, none where even the least bit happy.
Mean while in the base, Ace was bitching up a storm at Marina now, to let her get out. Marina refused, due to her 'mental instability' and her still broken leg thanks to Ace walking on it all the time, so clearly, now a bit distracted from the fact a 7,2ft robot that weighs 500 pounds and isn't Unnoticeable, was missing.
Desmond Stroud (played by Dehzinn)

The dead infected could be seen scattered all around the fountain, and the usual one or two dead beings thanks to Marcus anti-material rifle, the deadly Barrett .50, each shot had opened a large hole on the being's protective shells. Even though the massive body count, more and more infected just kept coming at them like if it was a clearance sale on some popular store.

Desmond shot another infected, directly on the chest and then his M14 was empty, he didn't had enough time to reload at the moment, so he dropped the rifle and picked his pistol, the MP-443 gratch, and fired three bullets at another infected coming at him. The two other bullets were just to be sure that it wouldn't get up and charge their position again. "Boss, I need a pistol mag!", he yelled, when his pistol clicked. There was a bunch of spare clips and used bullet shells all around him. Ross tossed a small magazine towards Desmond, who grabbed it in the air and reloaded, "Last mag!", said Ross, and kept firing his rifle at another small mob, giving Desmond enough time to reload his rifle again.

Desmond took simon's gun, since he didn't look like he was going to use it, and replaced his empty pistol with it. "Simon, hurry up!", he yelled, having to reload his gun again. The whole fountain smelled gunpowder, and he had formed multiple piles of used shells around him. Desmond removed the empty magazine from the sub machinegun and picked another one on the ground near him, beating it on his helmet to make sure it had ammo, and then loaded it and started to shoot again, piling up more infected around the square.

A familiar loud groan, and a body of an infect being tossed aside to clean the way of others, was a sure sign 192 broke out and showed up, Ace on 192's shoulders with a AK-47 she stole from one of the guards at the arsenal and her sniper riffle on her back, broken manacles at her wrists. She jumped off when 192 was 10 feet from the men, wobbling over to joint hem, "I am not about to miss out on this fun." she stated, loading up the AK-47 and aiming, shooting. She was clearly better at snipping then using a regular gun.
192 just went strait back into the mob, spotting a few of the large, advanced infected barreling though them- a few infected Beings. 192 charged, drill first to meet Opponent number 1.
Desmond Stroud (played by Dehzinn)

Marcus had shot the anti-material rifle until he ran out of ammo, and threw it away before getting out of the building, since there was no need in sitting there anymore. He shot a small mob of infected with his machinegun before vaulting over the fountain, and unlike the rest of his squadmates, he was packing extra ammo. He fired a couple of burts more before lending his pistol to Desmond, and both of them covered the north end of the dried out fountain.

A few seconds later simon poked his head from behind the bomb, "It's done! I only need to prime the charge to set it off!", he yelled to Ross, who was too busy to answer right away, since he was hitting a infected in the head with his rifle butt, using it as a battering ram. He turned around once he was done, spilled with blood, "Is it working?", he asked, and Simon nodded, "Good, get back to the pavelow", he said, but Simon seemed to not have understood what he heard, "Go! Now!", Ross yelled again, and this time Simon was already running towards the pavelow. Ross left his rifle leaning against the bomb and looked at the primer, it was basically two ends of a copper wire that once connected to eachother would activate the bomb. He turned around to see if the rest of his squad was holding up well, and they were, even though they had run out of ammo. "Rookie, Marcus, get out of here, I'm blowing this thing up", he said, picking up both ends of the copper wire.

192 put the mechanical hand on Ross's, stopping him. 192 clicked to him, jerking her head to the side, where their way out was. "Go." 192 had clicked, pushing him aside with her hand, before turning, blocking it off so he couldn't see. If anyone was going to get killed, or wounded, may as well be 192, due to the fact she'd probably be shut down after this is done anyway, which really is just a much kinder word then death. 192 clicked for him to go again.
Desmond Stroud (played by Dehzinn)

Desmond and Marcus were already on their run for their money with a crow of infected behind them, Marcus was having the worst of it since he wore the heaviest armor in the squad, while Desmond had the light armor for more mobility. Desmond turned around and fired his last rounds from his pistol, killing three infected with the 17 shots, then he just threw the pistol at the crowd and ran inside the pavelow while Marcus started to spin the minigun. He lunged inside the pavelow just in time, and then the minigun started to fire it's deadly hail of bullets. They didn't call that gun 'puff the magic dragon' for no reason. In a few seconds the mob had been reduced to a pool of blood and severed limbs behind the pavelow, while it started to take off.

Ross didn't wait for 192 to push him aside again and tell him to get out a third time. He just picked Ace and carried her on his shoulders like if she had been wounded, and then he ran to the pavelow. He reached the pavelow and ran inside it through the loading ramp, panting because of the extra weight. Ross basically dropped Ace on a passengers seat and leaned against the pavelow's hull. "Where's the tin can?", asked Marcus, and Ross just shook his head, knowing that the bomb would go off any time, and they were still inside it's area of effect. "Just get us out of here", he said, and the pavelow took off.

Once back at base, a overly happy, welcome back comity was waiting for them...Okay, just a bunch of Eggheads who where happy as hell that they did this for them. Marina was probably the only one who wasn't going to maul them and say thanks and what not. She just stood, clipboard under arm, and a faint smile curled across her lips.
Desmond Stroud (played by Dehzinn)

It took them a few hours to get everything ready, land the pavelow on the parking lot and get inside the base again, going through the museum to do so. The squad was exhausted from the battle, exhausted and shaken, also. Marcus was carrying ace by her shoulder while Ross walked up in front, leaving Desmond and Simon on the rear, both of them had dents on their armor from close quarter punch trades with the infected. They all stopped at the entrance and looked at the 'welcoming party' they had settled for them, not sure of how to proceed.
Unknown user

Marina walked forward, and welcomed them back, one at a time, and told Ace she was a moron. Ace didn't take it well, so she kept in the back of the group, and stayed pissed all by her lonesome.
"So, where is the tin-can?" she asked curiously, wondering if 192 was alive, dead, what the story was. The Scientists leaned in, and the room went silent.
Desmond Stroud (played by Dehzinn)

Ross looked at the rest of his squad and then looked back at Marina, like everyone, he still had his helmet buckled up, concealing his whole head. "It's dead", he said, pausing for a bit, "But the bomb was rigged", he added. The whole squad seemed beaten from the battle, and all of them were expecting not to come back, so they had fought with all their strenght. Desmond leaned against a wall and Simon did the same, checking their weapons to see if the safety was on.
Unknown user

Marina nodded slowly, taking this in. A few Scientists lowered there heads, and muttered something about perhaps they made something in it wrong or something along those lines.
Marina recovered in a split second. "Well, it seems as if you are all tired, so go ahead, get something to eat, rest, clean yourselves up." she said, waving them off to go do so as she went to go back to work.
