He laughed, his thin shoulders heaving as he shook with glee, shaking his head and cleaning his glasses on his shirt before putting them back on officially. "Thanks... I was getting worried too that I'd have to tape them back together again..." Still laughing, he sunk down next to her with his back against the lockers, closing his eyes and relaxing for a moment.
That was pretty cool, he'd have to admit.
For a moment he wondering if he should go look for Shane, but decided against it. The shadow could take care of himself and was probably outside by now, and he'd be in a grumpy mood too for being disturbed. He'd be best left alone.
He ran a hand through his hair, flicking some crumbs and little pieces of lettuce out, stretching his long legs out in front of him and sighing. "That was interesting."

"You're welcome." She started unbraiding her hair to be able to comb the food out of it. Better not to have any evidence. Once loose, she shook her head and like him, she had also pieces of lettuce tangled in her hair. While she worked on it, Sunset was wondering how did Shawn manage to survive everyday this way. "It was." She looked around, a little worried. "Perhaps we should go somewhere else. There will be some angry people soon."
Shawn was a little easier, since he had shorter hair, but it was thick and black so anything in it stuck out. Green contrasted sharply with black, after all. But a couple of runthroughs with his fingers and he'd be fine.
"Yeah, that's a good idea- Mr. Clancy's gonna be on a warpath as soon as he hears about this and he's gonna skin everyone alive. It'd be safest to go outside till the bell rings." He stood up and took a look around before offering her a hand to help get up. "Hurry, and we can make it look like we were never here."

"Yeah, probably." Sunset gave up on her hair and took his hand, standing up. "Okay, let's go" She smiled at him and started walking. "Shawn, are there more clubs here? So far I've heard just about the Art one." She was curious about it because there were so many other things that she liked and it'd be great to meet more people that shared her interests, and her dislikes too.
"Well," he began slowly, "there's a forensics club, a theater club, a dance club, a math club, a robotics club, you already know about the art club, and then there are the athletic teams. There are probably other clubs I just don't know about, but you can always ask around and see." He shrugged, opening the door to the little courtyard area and holding it open for her as he took a look outside. "Looks like a nice day outside."
She nodded, thinking about it carefully. Math and robotics were not options. Meh, she'd have to do more research later. "It is." Sunset said smiling. "Woooo!" She kicked off her shoes and ran around, skipping and twirling. There wasn't anybody outside, but it wouldn't have made a difference if it had.
He watched her dancing around in the sunlight, an eyebrow raised ever so slightly and a faint smile on his lips. She was an interesting girl, he'd give her that. He had never known anyone before who would do such a thing, especially in public.
He was just afraid she was going to rub off on him, that was all. Shawn was perfectly happy being an introverted turtle, knowing nothing else and not keen to experience anything else. But, seeing her personality, she was probably going to change that.
He'd see.

Sunset noticed he hadn't moved at all from the spot he'd been standing at and shook her head at him. "Come on! I can't have all the fun!" She waltzed towards him and grabbed his hand, trying to get him to dance with her. It wasn't strange for her, to dance. The strange thing would be not to. "Have you heard that song... How did it go? Ah yes," She cleared her throat and started singing. "I used to think maybe you loved me, now, baby, I'm sure...! And I just can't wait 'til the day when you knock on my door..."
His eyes widened in surprise and he let out a small yip as she grabbed his hands and dragged him out to dance. At this point he was just trying to keep up with her, which was easier said than done with his large, somewhat clumsy feet and general lack of gracefulness. He was stumbling around everywhere, not sure what he was doing, the shock of the situation getting to him a bit.
He stayed silent, however, not wanting to interrupt her song.

"I'm walking on sunshine!" She knew that song by heart. It was one of the few human-written that she enjoyed listening to, and singing too. It was evident now that he didn't know how to dance. She put that in her to-do list. Helping Shawn learn how to dance. Just when she was finishing singing, the bell rang. Her shoulders slumped as she stopped dancing and sighed. "Too bad."
Shawn had sort of skittered away like a spooked squirrel if she let him go and was hiding behind a tree, his head poking out from behind it, watching her with large hazel eyes. He wasn't sure what to make of the situation at hand, and was indeed saved by the bell. He relaxed slightly and came back out, although he kept his distance from her at first, like a puppy that had been smacked with a newspaper a couple of times. The boy was skittish and was a little paranoid now that she was going to grab and drag him somewhere else, although that trust would be quickly rebuilt. He was kind of a pushover that way.
"Are you taking the bus back home, too?" he asked, picking up the backpack he had left by the door and shouldering it. If she said no, then he'd probably try to walk home with her, if just for her sake. She wasn't going to get away with her little stunt in the cafeteria for long.
(Sorry I didn't reply sooner, btw xP)

(Don't worry about it!)
She was sure she'd have troubles if she took the bus. Those were the kind she generally tried to avoid. Sunset picked up her backpack too, putting her shoes back on. "No, I don't think so. Not today, at least." She rubbed her hands together to keep away the cold. Her momentary connection with her homeland was gone now. "Why do you ask?" The hallways were once again crowded. It was funny because half of the school population didn't have the slightest idea of who had started the food fight, a 25% percent knew it had been her and thought she was really 'cool', now, the rest.... They weren't exactly in buddy terms.

"I was just wondering," he replied with a shrug, keeping his gaze on the ground now that they were around more people. "I normally walk home, too."
It would still be a while before he could build up the self-esteem needed to ask if she wanted to walk home with him. It would just be weird and Shawn was still an incredibly shy person; Sunset was really the only person he actually talked to. Today had been the first real conversation he had had with someone in a long time.
"I'll see you later," he told her, adjusting his glasses and offering her a small smile before heading off to go to his next class. He was roughly bumped by one of the guys from before, shooting the smaller boy a death glare, although he wouldn't actually attack Shawn. Not yet. The time for that would come later. Shawn himself staggered a little, but quickly kept going to the relative safety of his classroom. He'd have to keep his eyes open on the way back home.

Sunset couldn't look down at the floor. She was too marveled by everything around her. So new, so interesting. Even people! While at the Courts everyone was just plain boring, here you could find all kinds of people. "See you later too!" Her cheeks warmed slightly when he smiled at her. It was a pleasant feeling. She frowned when he was bumped. She'd have to do something drastic about those guys soon.
A couple of hours later Shawn was standing out on the from steps of the school, shifting his feet awkwardly and doing his best to avoid everyone. He was waiting for Sunset, and it felt weird. Normally he was walking home by now; he'd be a little late, but he doubted anyone would notice.
He hoped she'd come soon. He wanted to get a head start on the guys, maybe be so far ahead they'd save their revenge for later. That would be convenient, now wouldn't it?
He played absently with the straps of his backpack, sighing through his nose and looking down before looking back up again, shoving his glasses up his nose and waiting for the shockingly purple head to appear among the crowd of browns and blacks and blonds.

Sunset walked out of the school stomping. "When I find what jerk painted my locker I'm going to have the trees swallow them whole and twist their stomach inside out!" She muttered. At the sight of Shawn, she brightened up a bit. "Hey! How did your class go?"
"Fine," he replied simply, watching her stomping with an almost wary expression. "Someone painted your locker?"
On that thought, it would probably be best if they started walking. The guys were probably busy smacking some other kids around, but they'd be out soon enough, and Shawn was itching to get away while he still could. It would be good for Sunset too since they weren't exactly on friendly terms at that moment and the last thing Shawn wanted was his new friend getting into trouble of some sort. That would be amazingly bad.

She nodded, still feeling grumpy. "Yes! Can you believe it? They wrote with paint a pretty rude word that I'd prefer not to repeat." She shook her head as she walked at his side. Now it'd turned personal. She was going to prove these guys that they couldn't stomp on people just for the 'fun' of it. Not on her, and not on Shawn.
He sighed, shrugging his thin shoulders as he thought about it. "Wouldn't be the first time they've done that. If that's the worst thing they'll ever do, I'll be surprised... Anyways, enough of that." He shoved his hands in his pockets and looked over at her, his hazel eyes holding a curious light in them. "How'd you like it today, besides the locker thing?"
Sunset looked back at him and hooked her fingers on her backpack straps. He was right. It was time to talk about something else. "It was a great first day, jerks aside." She smiled at him and bumped her shoulder gently into his. "Did you know that we could send letters to people without having to use a 'pencil'? At school, they have these machines that practically do all the work for you!"
