Gui said while lounging on a sofa with his cane laying against it. He was currently wearing a long, frilly pale pink dressing robe that screamed 'I just killed my husband' after being able to take a long deserved bath. His long hair was down, relieved from his usual rat tail ponytail.
"No, he's my papa."
He picked Fumizuki up and held her "I am Fumizuki's papa"

"It appears I might have some timeline shenanigans in my future... Prepare for a traumatized evil me. And cool music the writer found online." Emeris forgot that he wasn't supposed to engage with the fourth wall.
"Writer? What is this nonsense you speak?" The look on Gui was absolute puzzlement towards the blasphemy that came out of the king's mouth. He knew there was a higher power in everything, but the idea of a even higher power known as a author was something he couldn't wrap his head around.

She busied herself with making a batch of Irish cream. She idly watched king emeris and gui with interest
"I unfortunately can't unhear what you said," Gui said with pretend suspicion in his voice. He pointed at his own eyes in a v shape then pointed it at King Emeris as in 'I'm watching you'. Gui then broke down into brief laughter. "I'm just messing with you or am I?" He picked up his cup of tea and grabbed two sugar cubes before stirring it with a spoon and taking a sip of it.
The king shrugs. "I don't know, I'm not a mind reader. I know one though. "
"Mind readers honestly scare me. Tea?" Gui reached to grab another tea cup and spoon. "Being able to peek inside someone else's mind, their most vulnerable spot, is a dangerous ability. And not to mention rude if done without someone's consent," he said.
"They usually uses it for interrogation or disrupting the enemy forces... " he gladly accounts Gui's offer of time, offering a kind smile on return.
"Using as warfare? I suppose that is one use for it." Gui placed the teacup and spoon in front of the king then poured a fragrant black tea into his cup.
Karlach returns downstairs. "I've had enough of mind reading after I briefly got tadpoled by some mind flayers."
"I always wonder why tales of mind readers are done without the other's consent," Gui said before getting a idea. "Perhaps they haven't had a taste of their own medicine, but that would be hypocritical, yes?"
"Don't know, don't care." The tiefling barbarian answers bluntly as she leans back in a booth.
"Hm," he simply said before drinking some more tea. "Did you have a good night of rest?" Gui asked in slight curiosity. He clicked his tongue and spoke again, "When are my manners? I'm Gui Åkesson, a traveling pharmacist."
"Yeah, I did. I'm Karlach, known to some as the Fury of Avernus."
"That's good news. Rest is one of the important key to staying healthy," he said with a kind smile. "It's nice to meet you, Karlach." He returned back to the newspaper he was reading a hour ago. The headline read 'Police Found Unconscious in A Empty Beer Keg'.
