Why hello there, most treasured reader. Forgive me, I did not see you there. I was too busy making a foolish attempt to break the fourth wall.
There exists a tale. A tale of a comet that goes by the name of Reyvar's Heart. The story goes that an ancient sorcerer by the name of Reyvar wanted to live forever. He prayed many a year and researched just as many documents that might help him achieve his goal. How exactly he did it, no one truly knows. The story differs in that regard, but what each version does have in common is that Reyvar performed ancient and forbidden magics. His body was void of life and soul, and a strange orb that people describe as a ball of flame launched into the night's sky on the exact location the sorcerer's corpse was found.
Ever since that day, a comet has been flying over the planet every once in a few years. People seem to think this is Reyvar's doing, that he either succeeded into becoming immortal and now soars among the gods. Others agree that Reyvar failed miserably and instead launched some sort of travesty into the sky that took his life.
Why am I telling you all this, you might ask? Well, simple. The comet crashed into an uninhabited island, boiling the sea around it! Fanatics and treasure hunters alike are starting a witch hunt to get to the meteor first and claim it as their own. For who knows what hides inside of it!? It is possible this sorcerer left behind a legacy of great power, just waiting to be claimed. Or perhaps the ore of the meteor can be harvested and turned into great weaponry? The questions and possibilities are endless!
But who are we kidding, really? Bender Of Iron Will is planning on selling that stuff! Do you have any idea just how valuable a hunk of meteorite is? The answer is very! Very valuable! This blazing star is just calling out to the old captain! "Claim me" it cries. "Claim me you handsome man. I am worth money!"
But he can't do it alone. His new ship sure is fast, but it's big as well. He needs more people aboard to aid him in this quest.
So, are you a willing adventurer who's aching for some sea faring shenanigans? Are you perhaps also interested in finding out what exactly what is inside that meteorite? Of course you are, don't be silly! Pirates, riches and rivalry are like the best combination ever for an adventure!
Captain Bender requires two more willing people to sail along with him and his colourful crew aboard Zephyr's Bane. If I stop paying attention and there's suddenly a bunch of people applying (which I'm sure won't happen), I shall let the dice decide who gets to come along aboard the choo choo boat.
