So yeah...who are they? Who drew them? Why are they there? Do their players still play here? Do they still use them?
Just curious, 'cause they're all pretty darn interesting looking.

Those are drawn by various users for RPR each year during Epic Week. It's a sort of contest, though it's less about drawing skill than it is about representing various genres. Here's a news post about the current one: https://www.rprepository.com/community/newspost.php?post=625
They aren't characters people play. Part of the deal is that they belong to RPR (though we can still show them off). Aside from there, they'll also sometimes get used other places around the site, such as being used to give clues during Epic Week, appearing in promotional materials (such as the video explaining how to use the Find RP tool), and one became super important one Epic Week because it fit the theme was was just really freaking cool. Even Doubutt was originally a mascot entry!
For the current ones, I drew the guy with the baby and the little purple slug. I've had art make it in previous years too.
