This Looking For RP topic is marked as closed, meaning it is no longer seeking new players.

Hi there! Welcome to Nasmara’s Revival!

The Village of Nasmara, Darkhand Group, is under new management and is releasing new content features for our community in Furcadia!

The IC adjustment period is July 1, 2013 - July 6, 2013 - come be part of the confusion!

Furcadia, Imaginarium, Street Corner. It’s a permanent spot, so no worries about losing us!

New features and new policies drawn directly from player comments offer an exciting new opportunity in a consistently active dream. Just ask in a whisper! In Nasmara an empty F4 list just means people are obeying our no-idling, no-oocing rule and may be gathered in the field behind the portal. The dream itself is reserved for RP only. One thing that’s not changing is our promise to you that anyone on the F4 list is able to RP!

New NPCs mean that business for your characters will be taking place even if you’re not always available to handle your shop - they’re also available to pass along grapevine messages between characters!

There’s at least a dozen new job openings in the dream; your character could get in and start playing with them right away.

A revamped section has been installed for child-characters to give them more activity and freedoms than they had before.

Brand new integration with the exclusive Darkhand Group dreams, for multi-dream dungeon crawls and storylines

In the interest of turning over new leaves, if your character has ever been asked to leave Nasmara before, the new administration welcomes you to re-apply for reconsideration.

A new hunting system is rolling out, expanded to feature supernatural happenings and encounters. Built-in fair play checks and balances included! Come be a Monster Hunter!

If you haven’t gotten a chance to play with us before, now’s your time! The Village of Nasmara is a low-combat, low-tech fantasy village dream, where people with extraordinary qualities come to try to live normal, day-to-day lives in a beautiful tropical jungle. Folks get jobs, talk with their neighbors, occasionally go “super-sayan” to defend the village from sentient threats or wild beasts, and then do their laundry and sweep their door stops off while talking about what’s for dinner.";
Interesting. Is there a place (other than the dream itself) to learn more about continuity? For instance:

What races are applicable -- is this a Tolkienesque fantasy world, a more Furcadian fantasy world, or some mix between the two? (Basically, could someone play a human? An elf? A lion furre? An avian? A Wyrmme? A dragon?)

What level of magic is typical? Does everyone generally have some degree of magic?

(Also I'm a bit confused by the 'low-combat' descriptor put riiight between monster hunting and going super-saiyan.)

Oh good job, Apple. Posting all about the dream without linking the website.
Here is the current site pertaining to the Village, and contains all the rules and continuity information a little heart could desire!

We do have a few restricted races that were put into place because of either IC lore that would prevent their arrivals, or if the very nature of these particular species would lead to a natural conflict with your average villager, which would then lead inexorably to violence.

As far as magic goes, a number of residents do exhibit some form of magic, although the average human or furre with no supernatural abilities are also considered normal.

Our ‘low-combat’ tag is because the primary focus of the dream is about living in a small, magical jungle town.

We do have sweeping and focused combat (or even puzzle) based GM-controlled events where characters can strut their magical or physical might, but these are often months apart from each other to allow most folks to ICly recover from them.

We also have a new monster-hunting system that allows for those that are restless to have smaller, dice-and-chart encounters as sporting events for themselves and their peers.

Despite all of this, however, the main focus and purpose of the dream is to see how these people with extraordinary (though not always magical) abilities build up to these events, and clean up after these events, and learn from these events.

And by the way, I looked through your character list and most of your characters seem like they could be great visitors to Nasmara - why not stop on by? :D
So far the response from our advertisement is going nicely! We still have room for many more, however, and so I'm attaching the IC job listing to let folks know the kind of characters we're still seeking. If you've ever thought your character won't see the light of day because they're "too normal", they might actually be superstars in Nasmara especially for those qualities!
