So how do character slots work, anyway?

Hi gang! Recently I've received a bunch of super-specific questions about how character slots work. Since there seems to be wide-spread curiosity, I thought I'd pull all my answers together in one place -- and answer any others that you think of.

There isn't, but I think it would be awesome if we could sort our Dashboard by "most recently created" or something along those lines!

Awesome article, but I have one more question!

I've got a bunch of characters and I'm not sure who I created first, is there a way to check on that, beyond going and looking at the number that pops up into the web address of the character?
