Francis wasn't quite so smart. Having stuck one foot forward to walk inside, he was forced to instead jump out of the way of the bowling ball. This ghost was getting too dangerous. His face scrunched into a scowl that he thought looked intimidating, but was more adorable than anything. More determined than ever, he strode inside.
"It won't matter where it is once I'm done." he said. Pulling out his notebook, he reviewed his plans. "Based on the floor plan and electrical layout of this house, I calculated the optimal locations to place my devices in order to achieve maximum coverage." Hopefully Brodi wouldn't ask how he got that information. He had four of the devices, handing one to each member of the club, and keeping one for himself.
"Visia, take that to the kitchen and plug it in the outlet by the back door. Ripley, plug yours into the outlet under the window of the sitting room. Livia, plug yours into the upstairs bathroom."
"Are you kidding me?" she protested. "You're making me go into the nightmare bathroom?"
"You're the only one who has God on your side." He knew that would convince her.
"Well, I suppose you have a point." It did.
"Mine will be going into the south side bedroom. We'll rendezvous back here when we're finished."

"How did-" Brodi started to ask.
"Don't ask," Ripley interrupted him. She took her plugin, gave it a suspicious look, and headed off to the sitting room.
Brodi turned in a circle, unsure of what he should do, and finally settled on following Livia in case something happened in the bathroom. It should be a simple thing, right? Nothing too particularly bad?
Meanwhile, Something watched them. It recognized them immediately, and anger simmered. These ones were trouble! Why was everything always trouble these days? All these people! Crowding into its territory! Messing about in its home! Always changing things and messing things up and ruining everything! Why couldn't they just stay away if they weren't going to do it right? It was... lonely... so very lonely... when the house was empty... But that was no excuse to lower the standards! Interlopers just made so much of a mess! And these ones, these ones were dangerous and represented something terrible! It wasn't certain what it meant, but it was bad! The minute they entered the house, it tried to remember how to shield itself. It had been a long, long time, longer than it could remember, since it had met anyone with those sorts of skills, but it thought it remembered how to shield its presence. It did its best to hid its presence from them, especially the girl... the girl with the Power. She was interesting, but not something it wanted to get close to just yet.
When the other girl, the less powerful girl, went into the bathroom, it followed her. What was she doing in here? This was its place! Its house! Spitefully, it flitted down, and, suddenly, it was a large, hairy spider scuttling across the floor in front of her, disappearing behind the toilet. It lost form again, losing itself into invisibility. It meant to reach out and brush her mind, to feel out what her fears were, but a sound caught its attention. It flitted away, following the sound, and found itself near the boy. The boy was doing... things. What was happening? What was it doing? It hung up in the cobwebs, watching the boy. It reached out at one point when he set down a funny-looking box and touched it. Lights! This wasn't like those boxed lights so many people carried around now. They were just a few bulbs. It lit up a few and then went back to the cobwebs, watching. It could scare them out once it understood these things. These odd toys were different. New. Interesting! Interesting enough to put its anger on hold for a few moments.
