It's been so annoying fighting with school internet, and the hassle with google via phone. And I believe I would purchase/download that ASAP. I love rping on the go, especially sitting in waiting rooms and on break xD
I'm so with you on the app. I use RPR on my Ipod and sadly since I use the internet it drains my battery like crazy! An app would be nifty, but they probably would have to pay to have to made and would maybe even have to pay to have it put in the app store and/or decide if it would be free or have to be purchased... ??
That's actually something I've been thinking about for awhile now, myself, but I imagine it'd be pretty limited. Also, I have an Android. >.>

The idea of creating a mobile app for RPR isn't feasible at this point. :( The main site is constantly developing, which means an app needs to be constantly developed too to keep up with it. (Kim is spread thin already trying to get the biggest features out!) Then there's also the fact there's iOS, Android, BlackBerry OS and WP OS to name the most commonly used ones, and we'd need one for at least two of these platforms, which is thrice the workload.

My best guess is also that hiring an app developer isn't in the budget. It's expensive to create and there are long-term maintenance fees to consider too. With every platform catered to, that's a looooot of monies.

That said, you can help your bandwith usage by installing proper browsers and use their data reduction features. RPR is also one of the lightest websites I know - Kim takes great care in coding the fastest site possible so that things don't take too long to load and use as little data as possible. There are many sites I hate to visit on my phone because they're so bloated they make my phone crash. o.O RPR isn't one of them though!

The stuff people put on the site (images and videos) are the biggest bandwith drainers.

Since Sanne pretty well summarized most of the previous points I've made on this topic, I'll just say we are EXTREMELY unlikely to ever have an app for any platform. Something major would have to change -- I'd need to win the lottery or every user would spontaneously have to decide to subscribe to Epic Membership at once.

What's more likely is that the site will gain some responsive behavior, to better format itself for smart phones and other small screens.

Certain interfaces might not ever have a tiny version (like editing profile colors for epic memberships), but things like forums and private messages could much more easily be phone-sized.

If I ever win the lottery I'll help you. <3
