Hi, all! I'm back! These are very similar to my usual, but with a bit of a twist. I've got a new job, so this will be... well, sort of like something you'd hear at a job interview, I guess!

If your character doesn't 'work', per se, then don't worry. This can be based around any situation where your character has a job of any sort to do or a goal to meet.

The rules are as usual: roll a d20 for your question, and keep to the usual forum rules. There's no wrong way to play! Your questions are below...

    1. How well can your character conduct themselves in a formal environment? How are they different to in their day-to-day life?

    2. How well could your character work with a team of total strangers?

    3. Does your character enjoy being in charge? What are they like as a leader?

    4. What is your character's work process like? Can they organise their time, or do they procrastinate?

    5. How ambitious is your character? Do they look for opportunities to progress?

    6. What was your character like at school (or as a child) - this one's kind of off-topic lol, I know!

    7. What kind of project or work gets your character really excited?

    8. What is your character's communication style? Do they have a preference?

    9. How does your character do with taking orders? What kind of leader do they work best with?

    10. Does your character respond well to discipline or criticism? Can they take it on board and learn from their mistakes?

    11. If your character was to make a big mistake, would they own up to it?

    12. How well does your character cope with public speaking?

    13. What kind of job or role would your character dread doing?

    14. Is your character self-aware? How do they do when it comes to self-reflection?

    15. How does your character motivate themselves when doing something they dislike?

    16. How well can your character deal with pressure and responsibility? Do they have any coping mechanisms?

    17. How long does your character's social battery last? How long does it take to recharge? How do they do this?

    18. What are your character's social habits? (Body language, eye contact, speech disfluency, etc.)

    19. Does your character have a good memory? Do they struggle with names or faces?

    20. What is your character's learning style? How quickly do they pick up new things?

I hope you all enjoy! I look forward to seeing your replies ☺️
(Yet another great work by the ever-brilliant Skylark - WIP)
20. What is your character's learning style? How quickly do they pick up new things?

The principal weapon of the Valradic is wisdom and once the mind is mastered only then should the sword be drawn.
60 Edicts Of The Warrior - LX Dictatum Bellatorae

It behooves Marcus as a strategist and general to place value in wisdom and certainly the wolf is no stranger to the woes of uncertainty and change upon the battlefield, his moniker is earned precisely because of prudently applied and well studied strategy and Marcus spends as much time in his Liberdomus as he does sparring and upon the war table, this want to know takes on a sinister and cynical side all the same as when Marc is met with a particularly talented foe whom indulges in the sport of battle as much as he does then it becomes more of a glorified match of chess drawn out through multiple battles, he will not even allow them to be wholly defeated so that they return and bring some new strategy to the battlefields.

Admittedly, his methods of learning aren't exactly the same as say a Sorcerer or Lorekeeper, he prefers to keep knowledge best applied to his art, knowledge which serves purpose or eventual purpose. Though deliberate in his choosing of subjects once Marc is settled into a new discipline he will take his time with it, with the intention to truly master and absorb all that the art has to offer, he is by no means perfect but Marcus is always useful in any given circumstance.

Alice (played by Jaws)

9. How does your character do with taking orders? What kind of leader do they work best with?

To answer your question, Alice doesn't take others ordering her very well. However if the order deals with getting to a goal faster, she would do it within a heartbeat. Someone who knows what they want and commands it too would be the best kind of leader to work with her.

Let's see how this goes! These threads are always a lot of fun.

14. Is your character self-aware? How do they do when it comes to self-reflection?

She hides it under layers of sass, snark, boldly flashy maneuvers, and outward cockiness, but Victi is VERY self aware and self reflective. She has a pretty good grasp on what she is and isn't able to do, enough to make a habit of finding ways of re-interpreting or altering situations into problems she knows how to solve, but also understands how precarious and unstable of a strategy that can be. She takes time to check in with her friends in her own weird little way to make sure that her outward abrasiveness isn't harming them or otherwise causing problems. She knows that she isn't the best with people outside of being intimidating or flashy enough to awe and impress them into listening to her, and will ask for help with talking to others when a situation hits her particular insecurities or weaknesses.

Victi also works hard to understand how others see the world. She realizes that she's the anomaly in most situations, that most people, even of her own kind, aren't inherently hunters with what we'll call exotic morality. She knows that applying a hunter's code to life is far from perfect even though she does it. It's closer to how others see the world than operating without it would be for her, but she knows it's still a flawed approach. This is also when she looks to others, especially her partner, to help her through those parts of life that can't be won through rational problem solving, clever use of magic, or explosions.

A huge amount of how Victi operates is by maintaining self awareness and always being self reflective, not just to understand herself from her own viewpoint, but to understand herself relative to everything around her. It's how she not only survives but thrives while being who she is, and what makes her a fantastic friend in spite of her eccentricities, strangeness, and fondness for violence and excitement.

Note: I feel bad for the theoretical interviewer. XD

Solomon Taylor (played by _Skylark_) Topic Starter

((Lmao I totally forgot I made this! Let's give it a whirl. Spinning a wheel to get the char...

Aaand the wheel of fate chose Sol! Good timing as I'm finally working on him proper again. Let's see what the dice says!))

16. How well can your character deal with pressure and responsibility?

Sol thrives under pressure. If he stops, he doesn't know what to do with himself and will quickly begin to feel restless, useless, generally unfulfilled and more irritable than usual. It would probably be a good idea for him to stop anyway, once in a while, but he's a bonafide workaholic as that's where he finds his worth in life. He works best to tight deadlines, and often takes on something else as soon as he finishes: he's the guy you want in your corner when it comes to planning and organisation, but not particularly fun at work parties.

He's much the same with taking on responsibility, though he's the sort to take on way too much. He'll never admit to being overwhelmed, but you'll notice him slipping ever so slightly. Don't get me wrong: he's by no means a yes man. Ask him to take on a project that's not worth his time and you'll be coldly shut down. But he's determined to do everything on his own, and won't accept any offers of help - however well-meaning they may be. Still, he works best when he's in charge and has full control over his environment. He's not great at working with people, mind you; it's his way or the highway.

Being a single parent from his early twenties didn't help -he doesn't really know anything other than being fully on, at this point.

Do they have any coping mechanisms?

Not really. He just pushes himself to his limit and insists he's coping fine. Self-care isn't really on his radar, and I honestly think he'd be too self-conscious to try.

To be fair, isolation tends to calm him, as does nature. Other than that, it's just copious amounts of black coffee and the odd cigarette. Still, acknowledging his own limits - mainly physical, but also mental - makes him deeply uncomfortable. If he had the option to just put his brain into a robot body and forget all that human stuff, he would do. No physical limitations, no emotions. That would suit him just fine, with his current mindset.

It goes without saying that he's probably massively depressed, if he really stops to think about it.

Yaazecsus (played by Leighoflight)

(Skylark - best forum games, lets go!)

16. How well can your character deal with pressure and responsibility? Do they have any coping mechanisms?

Yaaz paused for a moment to think about his answer. "I would say fairly well? I mean...I have four 11month old children, running a large spell trading business and have started a new venture of setting up and running a resort...I would say I have a considerable amount of pressure and responsibility!" He laughed.
"Coping mechanisms? I go off for little island visits by myself to get away from it all, once the children are asleep of course. Where I go they have a wonderful pastry chef so I treat myself with some socialising, tea and cake, even if Dahlia may not approve." he smiles a bit too wide. "

Sigismund Aristoi (played by Eigmer)

Does your character enjoy being in charge?

Depends on what period we're talking. When he's younger? Rather no, while it allows him to be at the top it does also mean he has to take brunt when he fails. When he's older? I would say yes, he likes responsibility that and he doesn't like being commanded so him being the leader does take the weight off him. Though I don't think he's a type of man who would readily jump at any occasion of leadership or use some deception to achieve managerial position(which sadly in our world is too common.) he's not against stepping up when necessary or being basically a captain during the storm.

What are they like as a leader?
Initially he would be unsure, trying to play safe and get to know his surroundings and coworkers maybe even befriending some people though not being necessarily overbearing in his approach. He's not natural leader though he has leader qualities, in first months he would struggle with his tasks and trying to get a feel of it. Working slowly to build up the solid base or at least a outline with which he could work, then he would try risky things or innovate as he wants the best for his company. That's for his aspirations.

Approach to his coworkers would be more of a listener... ironically and less argumentative man. If he was the boss, everyone would have clear set expectations and tasks to do for the day, if there's no issue with other outsourced material or assignment and then people having to do overtime. If he was manager then I guess he would try to make his department to be as ordered and without much of corporate bs/mistreating of workers. He has strong morals and when he's sure about something he's unwilling to go, Sigismund is stubborn to his own demerit often times, willing to clash with upper management or boss. He may try to ignore the wrong or think it will be fixed but sooner or later it would end with him getting fired(or him himself leaving) and some people coming alongside him. His resignment may have spelled the end of the company or drastic decline of toxic workplace given that he was quite important and valued member. Other than that I don't think he's particularly charismatic, Sig is just a guy who is reliable, listens to people and treats them with respect.
