I hope its ok to ask this here, but I am confused and don't know if its a bug or purpose or if I missed something.

Some time ago, I had been able to purchase anything with Paypal.
Yesterday when I tried to renew my epic membership, it just lets me pay via card.
And I can't seem to find any option to change that, and pay with Paypal.

Thanks in advance for your help.

It's not you! Paypal is temporarily disabled due to administrative nonsense on their end.

During Epic Week, Paypal suddenly decided that they wanted me to resubmit all my tax paperwork, but has refused to accept the original documents that they've been using for the past who knows how many years. They said they will now only accept "confirmation" paperwork from the IRS. This is paperwork that can only be requested by phone (holding with the IRS took an average of 3-5 hours in the before times, before all the layoffs) and then when you finally get through, they say it takes 6-12 weeks for them to send the forms to you.

I've spent full days on hold with the IRS several times now and have yet to get through. Planning to do it again on Wednesday. :firefly-is-over:

At this rate wondering if it makes more sense to just make a whole new paypal account rather than trying to get this one back...
Oh dear! I was going to ask about that. Do you have an online account with the IRS? I got one a while back when I had to pay tax one year, and use ID.ME which the IRS has as an official identification provider.

My understanding is that this is for individuals, not businesses and EINs?

*smacks head* Of course. I believe you are correct. Not sure if you can get the forms you'd need with and individual log-in.

Yeeeah. I think I am just doomed to spend tomorrow on hold again. Hopefully that will be the last time >.>

Got up early and got into the hold queue before they opened, finally got through to a person :D Progress being made!

Is there any update?
Kim Site Admin

Waiting for the IRS to send me the form I need. Supposedly it should show up any day now.

Any new informations?

Nothing. At this point I'm feeling like they didn't actually send the forms, or it got lost in the mail, and I have to start trying to wait on hold with them again.
What a hassle. :(
I vote we send Snail! Maybe we did send snail and that is our problem...
With the first of August comes my IRS 'tax freedom' day with my last installment to them, so after that I'll have some $ to buy shit here again. :)

But ... I'll have to wait until the PayPal option is sorted out because I can't use my U.S. bank card due to a Zip Code requirement, and the fees I have to pay using my AU bank card (lousy exchange rate & foreign transaction fee) is prohibitive. Am hoping you can get this taken care of Kim, and I get how frustrating it is dealing with the IRS.

It can't help with the exchange rate, but I recently opened a bank account with ubank for the sole reason of buying things online because their visa debit card has 0 international transaction fees :)

I’ll take a look at UBank. Will check it out! Thanks.

I have a love/hate relationship with USD/AUD exchange rates. At the beginning of the month I want the AUD to be low against the USD so I get more AUD for my USD deposit into my AU bank account. But I want the AUD to be higher when I buy stuff in the USA.

Woo-HOO!

Just in time for August! I can pay back some friends who have been very kind to me here while I was being flogged by the IRS the last year and a half.
