I tolerate Ai generated images in RP, as not everyone has the funds or time to get real art, but I despise when AI users call themselves artists.

Pretty much the same.
I occasionally draw. I also use AI for fun. And I also commission regularly. And I cringe every time AI-prompters call themselves "artists". The very minimum they'd need to qualify as artists would be to trace over them or retouch them.

(For RP and other purposes, I restrict AI exclusively to photorealistic stuff. For non-photorealistic - e.g. anime-style - stuff, I simply commission.)

I use AI generation purely as a reference tool and idea generator. If I have a character that's in my end but I can't fully envision it, I'll gen an image to give me ideas of how I want them to look overall and expand from there. I refuse, however, to utilize them as a substitute for character art; I'd rather a character go without a profile pic before I even bother using a generated pic.
