Hi there,
I came across an ad on RPR that made me slight suspicious, so I talked to the creator. Maybe I was a bit harsh, as it was only a post for a Discord server that leads to another site, still a human doing this.
So this post just for anyone’s opinion on toyhouse.se.
And that ‘ad’ was quite ‘interesting’ and I’m curious. Do you think I can risk a look? Knowing that I adore RPR of course and I read the rules (quite restrictive and you’re judged on length of post.
Anyone a meaning or experience?
Thanks a lot

If you are in any way suspicious of it, report it. Could be something. Could be nothing. Personally I wouldn't click it.
toyhou.se is a legitimate site.
Firstly, you need an invite to join, although it's not too hard to find one. Many users have dozens they're unable to give away.
It has more of a focus on trading and collecting OCs than RPR does.
It does not allow cannon OCs, or artwork from films, anime, etc.
It has a minor focus on RP only.

I’ve used toyhouse extensively over the past 5 years and can also confirm it’s a legit website. I only really used it for organizing character art and selling adopts, though. The RP scene over there is sparse in comparison to it’s main appeal (character storage)
I think i tried to role play there once or twice but it fizzled out pretty quick. The userbase is also WAY BIGGER, so it’s harder for the moderators to be as attentive as the wonderful people here.

Thanks,
It’s weird, when I retry, the invitation has gone, don’t like that. I’ll do an official report.
Thanks a lot

There are no moderators on TH in the sense that there is on RPR. All reports are handled by and dealt with by one person.
TH does have an RP community but from what I have found, most people use TH to recruit for private Discord servers. Which, of course, will have their own rules, not unlike how groups work on this website.
If you mean Toyhou.se, it's valid and actually quite broadly used.
But I've heard lots of strange and not-great things about weird community standards and expectations there and in connected discord communities. I actually have a friend who's stated that she regrets joining it because of the various weirdness and stuff, and is currently dealing with an issue where she wants to get rid of a couple character designs she bought but no one's taking them, and was told that deleting them was "super" against some community TOS, and that violating it could get her kicked out of a number of art communities she's in. She had actually become convinced that if she does any little thing wrong, even if it's just to be accused of something, that she just wouldn't be allowed to do art anymore anywhere.
I've also heard of folks having their accounts (along with all their characters there) deleted without warning by the sole person trying to run the whole thing due to accusations that sometimes were not true or validated, and sometimes were due to violations of rules the former user says they had no awareness of and couldn't find, when they are provided any reason at all.
It seems like it works decently well for most folks, but personally, I'm content to avoid it.

Yeah a lot of the ToS for character designs are... So weirdly restrictive. And people bookmarking dream characters in the hopes to buy them off their owners and things like that. It's personally not a scene I'm interested in.
Thanks again people, I have now seen, as I could somehow have in-sight without applying. I came to see the rules… RPR is strict, it is to preserve the authentic side of it, thanks the team, but here you are controlled on post length, on frequency of that posts, even on character design and if you don’t fit, they (or should I say ‘he’, the captain) preserves the right to throw you out reasonless.
That ad leads to that so said immense group with animals and furred and… leads to a board (without makeover) of less than 50 members and activity very low.
Please people, it’s quite attractively presented and interesting for furred (like my doe), but there are no furries, there’s no acting like animals. Many of you now know my Lizbeth, she has more fur than all of them.
Unfortunately it is allowed to make advertising about that group, as long as it fits the rules of RPR, it does. But I’m allowed to give my opinion, within the limits of the rules (I didn’t even name it directly) and I did too.
Thanks for the open opinions and advices, you’re ‘cool’ people

Before anything runs out of hands and this thread would be used to get loss of frustrations, I asked to close it.
I would totally understand if anyone would like to shout, but I prefer this not to happen publicly, please send a private message if anything bothers you.
Thanks again for all, you’re great 😊
