Greetings and salutations. I am an older writer looking to enjoy some collaborations with other writers. I have been writing since I was in 4th grade, and I've been roleplaying for about 25 years. I remember RPing in Yahoo chatrooms, Yahoo Messenger, over AIM, and on MySpace!
I would say my writing style is a mix of purple prose, noir, romanticism, Victorian gothic, and gritty realism. My genres: paranormal/supernatural/preternatural, comic, noir, crime, modern fantasy, science fiction, and drama. Themes: spiritual, folklore. I have experience writing canon characters and original characters. Although I'm female in RL, I write mainly male characters. I am not looking to write romantic stories; I have a boundary with this. However, I am open to other connections and always welcome friendship and adventure! Or a misadventure.
I prefer freeform collaborations. I'm not the best at discussing ideas; I work better from banter and random starters. However, if discussions are necessary, I will give them my best. Besides writing with others, I also enjoy musing on my own and writing drabbles. I view my characters as projects and Muses; they mean a lot to me. And I put a lot of effort into them, often going as far as doing research, reading books (I have several Appalachian books for my one character), watching shows, or documentaries. I like to bring an element of realism into my work.
I can be a slow writer at times because I work part-time and have a life beyond my hobby. And if I'm writing multiple paragraphs or something in novella form, it takes me quite a while.
