This is nice, I loved the first time I participated.
But before I roll the dice, one question:
It is a story, as said with intro, plot and end. Has it to be strict text, or are we free to chose a style, like a ballad or a poem, or word art, not a picture of course?
Thanks

Music.
Forbidden, life ruining, that which would bring The Yaya.
Yet here she was, hearing what she ought not.
Within their temple, The Kaya sang.
And The Yaya listened.
She'd heard Music before - she knew the falsehoods, the lies.
But might this be different?
Was this the true danger?
She tried a song upon her tongue - too loud.
Eyes upon her, voices raised - not in song nor praise.
The Kaya pleaded, The Yaya answered.
She must not escape!
She must not tell!
Vines whipping, petals like blades, aiming for legs.
Yet she escaped - the songs were hers.
All for herself.

If you're able to tell a story that meets the criteria that is also a poem, go for it!

Question for me - can it involve my characters or does it need to me something unique only to the story?
You are free to use your own characters, so long as a person who doesn't know those characters can still get what you're going for.

Edit 1 : Backstage ! The secret behind the scenes, oooooh I got inspired
Edit 2 : Told you got inspired, her's the ballad of a bot, 99 words
Edit 3 : I had found a wrong word and had to change it, sorry for that. Wordcount doesn’t change!!
Unsympathetic as a prison door
Came this bot showing on forum’s floor
Buy this or that
And you won’t get fat
The unwanted link just didn’t say more
Spread the news cherished bot
AI might help a lot
The ad appeared to the eyes of a doe
Signaled this backstage illico
Behind the scene
Moderator is been
Working as those bots hardest foe
Defeated it is unwanted bot
AI won’t help a lot
Backstage on RPR is not secret
Moderation you might believe it
Does the best
And all the rest
To chase those bots and make them quit
To be chanted in a four four time, straight note ballad, emphasizing the bolded words

Backstage
With quick, flicking motions of their fingertips, they combed their hair into just the right amount of wave and curl to emphasise the androgyny of their features. Peering into the mirror, they made a soft 'hmm' sound under their breath, straightening up.
"No, no that's not quite right..."
With a subtle shimmer to the eyes, a puckering inwards here and a sharpness there, the features peering back had become a touch harsher, and their eyes were lilac rather than blue. Much more striking.
They would capture all willing eyes facing them, watching them, witnessing them. Capture, and engage, and ensnare.

Poem
~~~~~~
Deep in the woods, that’s where he lives. He writes in lines I can’t forget, words that cling like thorns beneath my skin.
At night, he calls, reciting them back to me, soft at first, then sharper. Each line twists, reshapes, and becomes something I almost understand. I hear them in the walls, in my breath. Sleep never lasts. Ignoring the verses only makes them louder, heavier, and impossible to escape.
Tonight, I reach for the door. My hand trembles on the handle.
I don’t open it.
But when I turn back, the poem is written across my skin, each word carved in a hand I recognize.
[Edited] I got Poetry, so here's a poem based off of a book I'm currently writing! I'll call it Timeless Love. Sidhe is pronounced shee
In the isle of Scot
where the one can get lost
There lived one who dressed in moss
Leanan Sidhe courted mortals
Upheld them to her morals
Jealous a woman was she
There once was a revenant
Who was of Slavic residence
That lived in revelry
Together they taunted
Both became quite daunted
In their battle of supremacy
As time elapsed
Their aggression collapsed
An unlikely friendship they did seek
Mortals came and went
Danced in the midnight mist
Frolicking with Leanan Sidhe
The man did regret
Never did he admit
How she made his dead heart sing
In the isle of Scot
where the one can get lost
There lived one who dressed in moss
Leanan Sidhe courted mortals
Upheld them to her morals
Jealous a woman was she
There once was a revenant
Who was of Slavic residence
Edit: Evidence. Interesting...
They say the truth will set you free. Not if you’re guilty. The truth is, I committed the crime. I did it and I’m not ashamed. If I could I’d shout it to the whole damn world. No one can know though. It would cost too much. Not to me. I would lose nothing. Then again, everyone loses when the world burns.
So I do what I have to do. Documents on fire. Potions down the drain. A wand broken in half. Gone. All gone. No one will ever know…that magic was ever real.
June 7, I think
I'll give this a 'shot'....
Ohhh. Praise. Let's see what I can do...
EDIT: Finally did it. In poem form. Based on a true story... Exactly 100 words.
"May Hope"
(The title is in Filipino-English. It translates to "There is Hope."
It's also a play on words since both characters are named May and Hope.)
Hope was a teacher.
Among her students was May.
Hope saw May drawing
comics and OCs one day...
May loved making comics,
but believed they were lame.
Hope told her otherwise
and encouraged her to draw each day...
Every day, May shared
her storyboards with Hope,
until May’s mother, one day,
called Hope on the phone...
May's mother revealed
May once struggled back then,
but with Hope’s kind praises,
it gave May the confidence again...
In the end, Hope was touched
-- glad that she could help,
for, as a teacher, she wishes
each child will learn to love being themselves.
I think I can come up with a short story.
Rolls a 9 - Backstage
(first person perspective from my character Marionne Seymour)
I hovered around the service door after the concert hoping to get a brief interview with someone from the band. I had a backstage pass, but it didn't give me VIP access. It was awkward being in this purgatory no-man's land between the groupies and the band.
Fortunately, Erica the bass player came out to find the toilet and asked me where it was. I escorted her down a short hall, and while in the restroom, I managed a short interview to air! She did me one better and said the whole band would come by the station!
"Welcome to a behind the scenes of RPR! I have to do this quickly before Kim comes back," Agent Milkshake said quickly entering a room marked "Server".
"This is Server! Let's see who he really is!"
Server frowned as Milkshake removed his cover. "Ah ha! It's Snail!"
"Hullo," The snail gurgled.
"Wait," Shake said confused. "Snail can't run the RPR!"
Shake lifted the snail shell and inside was a piggie!
"Squeak! You found Kim's secret!"
"And that's the secret to the RPR! Until next time," Shake said with a wave and hurried out before Kim returned.
