So anybody in this parts like some Dungeons and/or Dragons? I'm an oldie, my favorite dnd version is 3.5, but I hear word that the 5th edition is out and my sources tell me it's pretty good.
There's gotta be other d20 fans out there besides me here! What's your cup of tea? Pathfinder? Classic dnd? 4th ed? Any fan of any d20 style game is welcome here.

DUUDE. I've been looking for a group of people to play DnD with me for AGES. I have a ton of the basic 4th Edition stuff if you ever want to play. I'd love to be a DM or a PC.
Bones, my man, I'm gonna link you to a system I think you might enjoy. I've heard Dungeon World described as "what you thought D&D was when you first heard about D&D". It's a narrative-focused adventure game with much more poetic license than traditional tabletops.
I'm looking forward to putting a group together with some of the cool regulars on RPR. Laughs will be had, and swashes will be buckled.
Bones, Oaky, would you mind telling me a bit about some of your positive D&D experiences? I think tailoring a campaign to fit the players' interest is very important, so your input is valuable!

Some of the best fun I have in the game is offering story or plot ideas up to the gm - they are vague enough to be easily twisted around to suit a need, but solid enough to stand mostly on their own.
However, having said that, the game is at its peak when everyone is having a good time. Example:
A good while back, about two or three years ago I think, I had a session going with I think four friends. There was a point in the story where we had somehow managed to piss off the guards of a seafaring town (there was a drinking contest that involved a friend's character and the captain of the guard, and my friend one, but then accidentally punched the guard captain in the face, so we decided to bail out). As we were running, we managed to use an arrow to shoot a rope on to a merchant ship, shimmy our way across, and got on the boat without falling into the water. My friends drunken pc rolled a nat20 and pointed at the boat captain:
"We boat! You go!" he bellowed, pointing first to the captain, then to the sea. The captain, bewildered by the boarding party and fearful of the town guard, set sail immediately and we boated for a far while until we got the the next town.
Just the presence of friends provides half the fun for me, and all the better if there's a good plot.

Tgis guy right here plays currently runnin a very rules lite eberron game. Ive played so many systems though it aint funny. Dnd 3.0 to 5e, 4e being my favorite. Shadowrun. L5R, and plenty of others
Bloopits is on to something with Dungeon World! I've played a lot of DnD on tabletop with friends and family. Mostly 3.5 and a very upsetting 4.0. But playing Dungeon World proves that a tabletop game doesn't have to be overly complicated with rules.
With all that being said, I would be interested in joining a game.

D&D, not at the moment. I plan on looking into it but at the moment my initiation into tabletop RPG's is via 13th Age.
I'm constantly involved in at least two games. Right now playing 5th edition for the first time, Forgotten Realms setting. Usually I play Pathfinder or 3.5. Also in a Numenera game and might be getting into a RIFTS game if my schedule can handle it. I'm lucky to be a part of a very dedicated gaming group.
I like dnd, have played 3.5 and 5e in brief and in moderation, respectively. As for d20 prospective games, I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanna play pendragon (have all the sources for it, even the Great Pendragon Campaign. Btw the 5e for pendragon is free online if you wanna give it a look).
Seriously, if anyone wants to play it, shoot me a holler, and I will die of happiness.

If I roll a Nat 20, I usurp Bonebag's Overlord Title
I played the first version with my brother when I was 7. Nowdays I stick to the fourth version and play it with friends at the local bookstore. And the best part...? I always pick dwarf just to mess with people.
Ah, it fills my heart with joy to find some more D&D nuts around here.
I'm running two 5th edition games myself right now as a DM. I'm not familiar with the other versions. You could say I'm still new at it. Regardless, it's a lot of fun, and the groups I'm leading are both fantastic friends and make the whole experience well worth the hassle of preparing maps and planning the story ahead.

Tempted to make a group on here dedicated to all those of us who play TTRPGs. doesn't matter the edition the model or the genre, just a place to gather and discuss everything tabletop. and find fellow gamers.

i thought you might peek in this thread. :p
this guy's campaigns are a blast, definitely recommended!
I have the books for 3.5, which is what I was raised with. The game I'm in right now is 5e (with the awesome Ryhn as our DM).
Currently I am working with my gf for a new game system for a mega-RP of ours.

Rogue stealth check.
Another website that's very helpful is roll20.net!
My dad has books for DnD for 1st edition all the way up to 4th edition. Since 5th is pretty new, I doubt he's had time to look into it. :C But when I was growing up and didn't really have a concept of what DnD is or should be, I really liked going through the bestiaries that he had and drawing them!
I got into DnD really recently! Two years ago, I started with playing 3.5e, and was kind of familiar with at least how dice rolls should have worked thanks to have played Neverwinter Nights and NWN2 -- the fact they had the DC checks in the chat feature was kind of cool. Ha;;
Within the last year, I've been playing Pathfinder, and I really enjoy how streamlined a lot of it is compared to 3.5e.

From what I'm reading, 5e seems to be good, then? Like I said earlier, I am a 3.x fan, and not really too fond of 4e; however, everyone I talk to about 5th edition says it's really good and I'd like it. I'd also like to check out Pathfinder sometime, a friend of mine who is way more experienced than me seems to enjoy it.
You can check out Pathfinder here; they put much of it online.
