He nodded. Moon looked at him.

Clapping for a short time, Winter acted like a child before their birthday. “I can make blade for you to use,” she offered.

Amity nodded. Moon looked at Kat.

The shade’s eyes changed from silver to a brilliant blue unlike any blue one’s ever seen. “Hgozi,” she said in a silky voice similar to music. A Bowie knife materialized in Amity’s hand.
“Yeah?” KK asked her.

She shut her eyes tightly. Amity did the deed and handed her his tail. "There." He said.

She snapped and her eyes changed again for a fraction of a second. “Done.”
In a flash of freezing cold wind, the human-animal creatures were standing in the park Moon and KK had met in. They were covered in a light frost.

Moon breathed out a sigh of relief.

Shaking off the thin layer of frost, Kitkat was glad to be away from the wacko.
Without another word, Winter Shade was gone, having what she wanted.

Amity's tail hadn't grown back yet and wasn't going to grow back. He had lied when he said it would.

“Do you need pain killers?” The concern caused her voice to waver ever-so-slightly.

He shook his head and Moon looked at him, worried.

“You sure?” KK insisted.

He nodded. "Yes. I'm fine."

“My mom taught me herbs that can numb the area for a while.”

He suddenly snapped, "I said I'm fine!"

Kitkat dropped her eyes, holding her hands in front of her like a shy kid.
“Sorry..” Her tone reverted back to its fragile whisper she used when dealing with her abusive parents. Obviously, she had done something wrong.

Moon hugged Kat. Amity calmed down. "I'm sorry..." he said.

She didn’t look up from the floor. “… I should go."

Moon kept hugging her.

KK gently got out of her embrace, eyes looking up at her for half a fraction before returning down. “Are you okay?”
