I listen to Epic Mix music when I need to jumpstart my imagination. It's as easy to find as going to youtube, searching for "epic music mix" and clicking whichever one has the neatest picture
. Vocals are usually distracting to me when I'm trying to write, so I stick to orchestrational epics. These are a few of my favorites:
2-Hours Epic Music Mix | Most Beautiful & Powerful Music - Emotional Mix Vol. 1
Epic adventure! An exciting fast-paced journey into the unknown! Stunning instrumentals paint pictures of charging down winding mountain roads on horseback, daring battles at sea, challenging impossible odds. Uplifting and inspirational.
Emotions Series - Anger | Most Epic Angry Dark Music Mix
Dark, heavy, energizing. Music made how I like my coffee. This one is GREAT mood music when you're playing the "abandon hope ye who campaign here" arc in a plot, things are taking an ominous turn, the boss battle is a really gruesome monster, or as the title suggests, suiting for just about any theme of dark mood.
5-Hour Music Mix | Epic Music Mega Mix
This is the long haul, the alpha and omega, my go-to when I'm about to run a real long campaign and am in desperate need of coffee in my cup and in my ears. You know what I mean. This invigorating mix is just the thing for powering through several hours of adventure, combat, epic scenery and battles.
Steampunk & Victorian Era Music Collection | 2-Hour Epic Mix
I love, love, love this mix. Words cannot describe. It has been the perfect ambient track for me this year, an absolute gem. Works well for scenes around the city. If I'm playing in town, I'm probably listening to this! Mysterious, flowing, exciting, flexible. I've even listened to it on my way to work to give myself that extra mood boost.

Depends on what I am doing really.
For Sci-fi art and RP's I listen to Carbon Based Lifeforms.
For Fantasy art and RP's I listen to a lot of Austin Wintory.

When I find myself in an elegant mood and requiring more of an emotional story rather than an action packed one I might listen to this.

I'll sometimes listen to a character's theme when I work on their profile/post.
I listen to Blind Guardian's Nightfall in middle earth, The Dark Tower inspired songs by Demons and Wizards, and most usually Avantasia's Metal Opera part 1 and 2, but also their album GhostLights.
As for non lyrical music, movie soundtracks and the like, ost's for games, Dark Souls(any of em), Bloodborne, and Lord's of the fallen.
Soundtrack for anything involving Berserk ever.

My musical likes vary. If studying then Schumann, Mahler, Haydn (these compositions are especially wonderful), and others. Almost anything classical.
If it's anything else like if I'm feeling sad Akeboshi or (lol no flame pls) Justin Beiber.
If I'm in a joyful mood probably something really cheesy and poppy like Carley Rae.
If I want something I know every single word to I instantly go for Disney songs like Colors of the Wind or Matchmaker.
I've been known to hum through a few Skrillex and Dead Mou5 songs too. I listen to almost any and everything!

Finally broke a long dry spell in replying to RPs by listening to some songs by Taylor Davis who's a violinist and Vienna Teng(who I was lucky enough to see in concert recently!)
-Managed to write 1200 words and finish a reply that had been slowing me up for a while now
