I have humanoids called Adepts. I am sure some of mine would mesh well with your characters in interaction.

Janella leans toward being more evil, but I'm always down for making enemies or developing unlikely partnerships. Just let me know what you think about it.

Glorious. I could see them going either way (maybe even a bit of both). Bal is a nice guy, but he's probably Chaotic Neutral (not the fishmalk kind). He can tolerate or even embrace evil allies if they can respect each other's boundaries. Even if it doesn't work out between them, you seem quite talented as a writer. I'm sure whatever conflict ensues would be pretty engaging.

Well, hello there! I gave your character a sweet read and he sounds like a curious, if not outright fascinating mesh with quite a few of my characters. I see you're also adjusting well to the site! And of course, as a side question, what kind of RPs are you hoping to look for here? And is Balin your main character, or do you have more you plan to introduce one day? (Okay, so that was two side questions...)

Well, I was on popular a forum rpg directory that listed boards. I wasn't literally disallowed to play as a human, but I found a lot of boards where either,
-Playing a human was a huge drop in agency compared to the other PCs due to high-powered modern supernatural settings.
-Face Claims were required and/or strictly-regulated.
-Other rules made the boards stressful to join.
I'm really up for most sorts of RP, and the fact that I couldn't find a suitable board in a sea of strict ones is what led me to the, "c'mon just let me play a human" half-joking rant. Tying that into your first question, I'm looking for anything with good company that can help me explore this character! Most of my experience is with group games, but I'm down with 1-on-1 as well, and most genres are fair game.
I do have one long-term goal with Balin, though. I want to find a group of well-rounded characters, each played by a different RPer whose company I enjoy, and form an RPG-style party. Genre-wise, I don't mind whether we're fantasy or sci-fi oriented, but ideally, we would be versatile enough to port to most settings in our genre.
