"Yeah, I am." Verity gives Ami a firm stare. "And from that I think it's safe to say that you're both. So either accept that nothing's gonna happen with you and Yappy McMedals, or just admit that your whole GI Jane thing is a lie you tell yourself to feel accepted. That's all I have to say to--" Verity winces from the sudden telepathic outburst from the newcomer. "What the *BLEEP* was that?!"
Ereth looks around, locating Ami and Verity. Tavern? So thats what it is called. Humans did like their strange indoor hubs. To Ereth it felt much too...cramped.
He hunkers down a little to not hit his head on anything dangling from the ceiling, wings tucked at his sides.
'I am no threat', he declares, his telepathic voice leveled and calm though he looks a little bewildered still. 'What does one do at a...ta-vern?'

"I don't even know how he feels about me!" she yelled at Verity as she went silent, a single tear coming down her cheek. She felt like they were right. Did she have something more for him? More then a daughter and father? It was uncharacteristic of her. And his nickname shoot a slight anger up up and down her spine. Of course she ignored it.
"And I am a sergeant! Gaining my ranks. So, FRIEND, please...nevermind," she hung her head low as her cigarette was about to fall out of her mouth.
She eyes the harpy for a moment. "Drink to our hearts are content," she told the harpy after hearing him telepathically speak.

"AAAHH-" Shaken greatly by the telepathy, Xueqing outright darted awake, and ended up knocking her head on a hard object. "Hrgh-"
She seemed hurt. "ow..."
Jingyang was also scared by quite a bit. "That... was a unique entrance."

"Not as unique as Dracula in that campy off-Broadway play I saw."
“Sorry! Sorry, I went too far, I get a little excited after having… oh, I don’t remember how much I drank before I fell asleep there.” She gives Ami an awkward little apology pat on the shoulder. She’d been reminded, just for a moment there, of her happier younger years, but she supposed she wasn’t 19 anymore and Ami wasn’t one of her closest girl friends. Little wonder her old gossipy nature was unwanted.
Esme stared curiously at the feathered newcomer. She had been seeing so many new beastfolk recently, ones she had never seen in all her travels. Interesting stuff. “What do you do at a tavern? Hopefully, drink,” she responds.

"Mostly drink till you black out! Ah, but, I don't really do that to party anymore."
Ereth's feathers bristled in surprise when the woman who had greeted him kindly began to yell. He had clearly - and quite literally - fallen into something ongoing. He had no intention of worsening the situation, but gathered that it had something to do with the man in the corner. Humans and their drama...
Ereth tilted his head at the mention of something to drink. This didn't much look like a wateringhole, he thought. The river would be better. He awkwardly waddled over to the bar, doing his best not to step on things or knock them over. It was hard for an oversized harpy, and a stool inevitably got tipped over. At the bar he would peer into the others mug. Whatever was in there smelled a little foul.
'What is this you are drinking? Mudwater?' He asked quizzically and wrinkled his nose.

"No, harpy, it is ale." She looked at him stare at her cup filled with it. She felt uneasy with him next to her.
Some words popped out from her, as if the world was a game.
Tired
Down
Bleed
Covering the back of her head, she looked at the newcomer with tiredness and confusion.

*confused land shark noises*
Ereth's eyes light up at the sight of the smol landshark. He mistakes it for a tasty fish! Maybe this is a watering hole, after all.
With an excited shriek he throws his wings up and hops from the bar, coming right for Jeff with an open mouth. He's trying to eat him!

"MRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!" Jeff rolls to the side and bites down hard on Ereth's leg.
"!"
A harmless water beam was fired at Ereth, to stop their attempt.
Up
"Don't."
This girl, albeit still a bit tired, warned.

Ereth shrieks at the bite. A fish with teeth! This is new. But again, he had also never seen a fish on land, or with legs...strange little creature. The harpy furrows his brow, trying to grab Jeff by the back fin to pull him off. The waterstream hits him in the face and the harpy makes a disgruntled noise, shaking his head and letting go of Jeff. 'Stop! I only want a meal' He complains, still sore from his bite.
Jeff lets go and drops to the ground. He gives Ereth a hard stare. "Grrrrr…"
"You could have asked for some fish instead of eating a cute petty sharky." She crossed her arm and stated.
Awake
"Dude..." and then the girl facepalmed.

Ereth is confused. He doesn't understand why he is not allowed to eat the land-fish. As he shakes the last water from his face he takes another look at Jeff. Carefully he leans down and sniffs him, checking the strange creature out. Maybe not worth it to try and eat something with so many teeth. Now his leg is sore. Ereth exhales a snort onto Jeff. 'Probably bad to eat, anyway' He comments and looks over his injured leg. Then back at the others. 'Is there any fish? I would be grateful for food. And I would like to try that strange mudbrew too'
From her void bag she pulled out a small takeaway box of shrimps.
"Take them if you want. I don't plan on having these. Not like I have much seafood anyway..."

Ereth perks up and his feathers rise to form a small happy crown around his head. He can already smell the shrimp, and it is making him even hungrier. He steps in place, antsy and excited for the food, but he can't see it. Its still in the box, and without hands, well...opening it is hard. The harpy leans in and begins to gnaw at the corner of the box in an attempt to open it, making little bird noises as he does so.
