She stared at the man sitting down to himself discussing something to another man. "Seems like trouble. Any help over there, Sir?" she asked. She knew who he was. She just didn't know if he knew who she was. "If it's Xenos needing disposing of, you got your gal right here," she said loudly with a stern look on her face. She was prepared for some combat. But for her, she was going to let him decide. He probably didn't need any help from a veteran such as herself.
The lord general raised a brow, taking a long drag off his pipe, oh he knew who she was alright.
" Gal..? "
His fists clenched and face turned red
" GAL !? "
SUCH DAMNABLE IMPUDENCE TO USE UNCOUTH TERMINOLOGIES FOR A MEMBER OF THE MOST HOLY ORDER OF THE EMPERORS SAINTLY DAIGHTERS !
He stood up
" Tell me Sister has your order forbidden the use of rank and the formal etiquette of address or do you go about suggesting yourself as chattel to all whom you meet... are you some mercenary or rogue to speak as so? "
He sighed rubbing his temples, sitting back down
" Eavesdropping an officer of the Imperium should merit a write up alone, your duties are vested to you by the sister superior and the holy order of the adepta sororitas, and unless you can commandeer a vessel, no, you cannot help, especially when a theatre of operations is in infancy... report to Arpatia for briefings, she is my designated liaison for such matters."

As usual, Ubba was full of the libatious Fenrisian Ale. He heard the name "Arpatia" and he flashed a fanged grin "you might be in trouble, Sister. Sister Ami has a low tolerance for foolishness"
She stood up in response to his response, her eyes locked onto his as her face became more stern as the moment passed. She definitely knew him. The Lord General, Aleksandr. He had a mouth on him, and at times she has heard about it. She didn't believe it at first, but she had first witness to it.
She clenched her fists back, but she tried to keep her composure as she let a slight salute out to him even though his words hit like a hammer to her. She stood up as well as she uttered the words, "Lord General Aleksandr..." while she kept her eyes locked on his. She knew her business. She was just enjoying a laugh or two before he got angry from what she said.
"Rogue? Mercenary? Do you insult me?" she asked coldly as her deep blue eyes became darker from anger that was flowing up in her chest. She didn't like where this was going, but she wasn't going to back down to someone who was probably younger in age than her.
She looked at him closely as he kept talking to her as though she was some young Adepta Sororitas. And this Arpatia? "A write up? Perhaps we got off on the wrong foot, Lord General," she said as she sat back down so in order not to merit a write up even though she was older than Ami. "Sir, I will do that. I will report to...Arpatia," she said as she swallowed her pride for a moment. She had to remember where she belonged to, and the Emperor was the only thing for her.
Then she noticed Ubba in the corner enjoying a laugh or two out of her misfortunes. "I have low tolerance as well..." she shot a glare in Ubba's direction as she had a mean streak to herself due to the color of her hair.

Ami came back to all the commotion as she stared at Lord General Aleksandr. "What about me..." she noted as she stared at him and Ubba both. She looked at Coraline and shrugged a little. "She is with me, Lord General. She is...older than me," she stated as she kept a calm look on her face as she addressed Aleksandr. Then she took a gaze at Ubba. "Thank you for the kind words, Brother. I can take it from here now," she stated as she sat down next to Coraline. "You need to stay calm, Sister. You know what happens when you get angry..." she said as she saluted the Lord General And Brother Ubba.
"Ah, che noia!"
*confused floof noises*
"That guy's speech came out of nowhere..."
" Age isn't the concern... It is decorum "
The Lord General shot a glance back to Coraline and then to Ami
"Do not mistake these formalities for mere pageantry, for in the cold vacuum of our duty, decorum is an armor that protects the mind from entertaining insubordination. Every salute, every precisely placed medal, and every moment of rigid etiquette serves as a defiant rejection of the chaos that seeks to unmake us, the chaos within, it is acknowledgement that duty comes before all other expressions; it is the manifestation of an iron-clad professionalism that dictates we remain unshakeable and carry forth our orders even as worlds burn around us. When I stand before you, it is not merely a man you see, but the weight of countless millenia of honored, proven tradition, embodied in a uniform that must represent devotion to the Emperor and a resolve to carry forth the Emperor's will. We conduct ourselves with this absolute composure because the alternative is a descent into the very savagery we fight to extinguish, and if we lose the discipline to master our own presentation, we have already surrendered the war for our souls to the Great Enemy."
The General paused looking to Coraline's eyes acknowledging her anger with a nod.
" You are infuriated that I have treated you as so? good, that is the work of commanders, when the standard falls out of line we deliver admonishment even if it is manifested in the most subtlest of mannerisms. You know why I have reprimanded you? hm? well do you? I have reprimanded you precisely because I respect you, I respect what you represent, I respect the honor of your institution, your efforts to deliver yourself here... do you even realize what you come to represent? ask yourself, what would you expect of a paragon of service to the Emperor, what example or what mannerism?... that standard is not some abandon to interpret as you see fit, your mantle is a responsibility, it is an oath and indeed there will be times, knowing and unknowing when the oath slips from one's grasp... and Emperor willing I will bring you back to the line as is the duty vested to me... you see this scar upon my face?
He added leaning towards both Arpatia and Coraline.
" I did not get this scar upon a battlefield for I swore to die if an enemy were to grow so emboldened as to blemish the Emperors own, nothing is as shameful for a Mordian. I got this scar when I made the hubris and turmoil within myself audible to my officer, when I allowed myself to utter weakness disguised as impunity and recklessness... that was the first and the last time I made such transgressions, from then onwards, I learned to find a way or make one, not with chainsword or bolter but with the blessing of discretion that the Emperor has granted us. Therefore, hearken and hearken well, I care not for what valors or deeds you seek to impress upon me, there is no pride in doing one's duty... your service is your life and it earns you no praise from my end... you either remain useful to the Emperor in this life or you extinguish your soul in the pursuit, there is no alternative. The emperor's path is dignified... embody it. You do not have to like me, you only have to keep on winning, that is my only ask... curse my name as you see fit upon the battlefield or at rest, it means nothing in the course of your duty. Now then, "
Aleksandr paused, looking back at Arpatia and Coraline, his stance firm as he saluted.
" I am Lord General Von Drakenfell, and what title of address do you hold Sister ? "
The Lord General shot a glance back to Coraline and then to Ami

Coraline listened to the Lord General as she sat back down without any further insult.
For her, duty was everything. Although she had to listen to his long speech. She had to zone out for a moment as she stared at Ami for a moment or two. It was as though she knew that he meant well to speak like that, but for her, she had her fair share of combat back in the day. Her scars would prove it all too well. She knew of his own run of danger, and she knew so much about his mannerism.
Indeed her eyes held anger, but they lightened a bit as she sat there next to Ami as to calm her spirits a bit.
She nodded at him as though he had been a old comrade of hers back in the day. And for her to know so much but so little infuriated her a little. "Everything led up to us meeting, Lord General," she said as she looked at him when he mentioned about his scar as she looked closer to his scar and waited for the next line to be spoken.
She indeed wanted to curse his name, but she kept it to herself. And hearing how he got his scar almost made her laugh. But she stayed firm with a stern and serious look on her face as she showed her own scars on her face. She may not have been in his position, but she had gotten them while in service of the Emperor. And she would not be no lap dog other then the Emperor. But she dare not say that. "And mine came from war, Lord General," she noted as she kept her calm while she knew not to suffer his ire any more then she could handle.
She saluted back as she looked at him for a moment or two. What was her title to be called by him? Without hesitating, she said, "Palatine Coraline, Lord General..." She saluted again but this time out of respect of the Lord General as she looked at Ami who had been silent for the time being as she watched her drink some recaf.
