The droopy eared elf rushed around her small little cottage. Because of her actual appearance there was no need for a costume. But her small cottage did need a make over. There were no lights on yet, signifying that she was not yet ready for the trick or treaters.

After a little while there were a few decorations outside and around the small hut.

“Alright! I’m ready for you trick or treaters!” Emberlia squeaked inside her house. She turned on her lights, signifying that she was ready.

The second the light went on, Trix stepped towards the house. She had secretly been watching Emberlia decorate for a little while, waiting for her to get ready. She wasn't there for a long while, mind you, she just liked watching people put up outside decorations. Her natural ability to be very taciturn kept her from being discovered, I suppose. She quietly walked to the door and knocked, waiting for the owner to open up. She looked down at what she was wearing to make sure she still looked presentable.

Considering all she ever wore was steampunk, she decided on a change, dressing more like a warrior, like her friends did sometimes. They were an odd bunch. She had fake leather armor, made by one of said friends, who was very much into medieval costume-making... In fact, that friend made Trix's whole outfit! Everything from the wood sword and its sheath, to her boot covers. And then she did Trix's hair. And gave her fake battle scars.
Once the elf heard the door her bright, pastel pink eyes lit up. She soon rushed to it, her light pastel purple skin shining in the light from the candles. Her semi-large hand grabbed her bowl of candy. Right after, opening her door. She then smiled.

“Hello there~” She sang. Her voice sounded sweet and gentle. But it also seemed to hide many things. “Oh my! I love your costume deary!”

Trix smiled back at the house's apparent owner, which made her appear more like the eleven-and-a-half-year-old she was and less like some very odd, very short, very thin, very feminine warrior. Not to say that's a bad thing, of course. It's just that, as an inventor, Trix would simply look a bit out of place as an actual warrior (which, a few "actual warriors" seemed to be roaming the streets in their search for candy as well), since she spent more time on machine building than body building.

"Thank you!" she chirped, her voice very high, even for a child of her age. She held up her candy bag, which was just a sack with a little cogwheel in it.... For some reason? "Trick or treat!" All of her quietness and adult-like seriousness appeared to have left her by now.
Emberlia let out a light laugh as she admired the child’s costume. It reminded her of her old home, of back when she was actually a warrior. Though now she just let herself relax, hoping she wouldn’t have to go back to the fighting.

“Enjoy your trick or treating!” The elf responded, her voice pleasant and joyful. She reached into her candy bowl and gave the young girl a few pieces of candy.

"Thank you! By the way, that bat is crooked." Trix pointed at a bat that was so realistic, it could actually be real... Was it real? Spooky... And dangerous, if it happened to be real. The little girl then scurried away to find another house, trying to remember which ones she'd been to already.

If I'm being honest here, Trix really missed her fluffy skirt and her little hat, and hated the sword... a lot. She also hated keeping Gadget in that sack with her candy. He didn't seem to like it, either, but she couldn't hear him because she wasn't holding him. No one would notice if she showed up to trick-or-treat in her normal clothes, right? After all, all she ever wore was steampunk.
Emberlia blinked, shocked that the young child realized a problem in her decorations. She looked over to the bat and hummed before rushing over and fixing it.

“There we go!” She sang. The moon soon shine out through the clouds, it was large and bright. The elf was soon covered with a white tint from said moon’s light.
This would have been one of those rare occasions where Nuell found himself wanting to participate in a holiday that was recognised by people not from his homelands. It was an interesting tradition, that was for sure, though one that he actually found himself relatively familiar with -- if only because the Evians he knew would talk about Hallow's Eve or Samhain from the Old World that they referred to at times.

The costumes were always interesting to see -- kids would often dress up as monsters or characters they really liked and admired. Sometimes adults would get into it to. Many people of Nuell's kind, though? Many anaeum like he did not have to dress up in some kind of costume... their animal features were more than enough to convince most Evians that what they were wearing was a labour of love when it came to the craft effects for costume creation.

Walking along the trail, Nuell had heard a squeaky voice that called out to those that could hear. Something about being ready for trick or treaters. Turning and making his way toward where he heard the voice, there was no harm in scoping it out.

"You're ready for trick or treaters, you say?" Nuell inquired, nearing the abode with a gentle smile upon his face. "Quite the set up you have here. It's so nice to see people getting into the spirit of the holiday."
At the sound of the voice the corners of the elf's pastel purple lips tugged upwards into a bright smile. A small little laugh left her throat and floated around the area. Her bright, pastel pink eyes shimmered with happiness and excitement. Emberlia's droopy ears soon twitched upwards and then fell back downwards.

"Why thank you! I'm glad someone enjoys my decorations! I worked hard on them, I even brought some home back in Monatila." She replied with her soft, yet strong voice.
Laughter and happiness were contagious, that was something that Nuell learned when he used to adventure with old friends. It seemed to be no different when dealing with strangers that expressed their emotions freely. As the small elf's expression brightened, Nuell's own expression felt less forced as a general courtesy and felt more natural.

"Your effort shows, madame~" Nuell complimented further. However, it was the mention of a land he had never heard of before that caught his attention more. One of his caramel ears flicked with piqued curiosity as Nuell then asked: "what is Monatila, and what is it like?"
Another small laugh made its way from the elf’s throat the cool, crisp fall air. There was some loud noise and one of the elf’s decorations popped up and yelled something, causing Emberlia to flinch a bit.

“Ah, Monatila is a very calm and peaceful town I’m the Chilanque quadrant, on the floating island of Islay. It has a dark past, but it is very, very beautiful and relaxing. To get there you either need a transportation crystal, or to just get on the flying faerie.” She explained, her eyes sparkling.

There was a knock at the door. It was a drow. The dark elf wore clothing mostly black, with blue trim and gold buttons and clasps. It was a replica of a drow captain's uniform. Many drow sailors travelled along the river which connected the five settlements of Upper World Drow. Aydr was no sailor though, just a simple businessman. An entrepreneur who ran a market on his land, renting space to farmers in an ideal district, crowded with customers.

Aydr knocked once again, rapping loudly three times. When it opened, he'd say, "Happy holidays! I heard there might be a get together here. The name's Aydr."
At the sound of the final knock the door was swung open, revealing the lighter skinned elf. Everything about her seemed to contrast her darker clothes, except her nails. Once she realized it was another elf at the door her bright eyes started to sparkle and shimmer with joy.

“Ah Yes! I hope you don’t mind when I rush to the door for the trick or treaters though. My name is Emberlia, Emberlia Starma!” Her voice was of average pitch— not to high, and not to low. She slowly moved from the door frame to allow her guest in. “Please, do come in. I hope you find my decorations pleasing.” She said, a smile growing on her pastel purple lips.

"Yes, yes... The visitors. I won't mind at all." The dark elf glanced inside the home's entryway. His eyes were wide, "Wow, this is quite the set up, you have here." His lands were much more rural and agricultural.

"Pleased to meet you, Emberlia. I'm Aydr, of Upper Drowlandia."

As they stepped inside, Aydr studied the design motif around him. "Very interesting decorations... I've only just learned of this holiday. Curious way to celebrate the harvest season, aye?"

A curious look rested on his face.
A look of confusion crossed the elf’s light face. She then remembered and a look of recognition crossed her face. Her whole body and everything seemed to have a yellow tint from the light of the floating candles.

“Ah, Yes it is. It’s vastly different from how we would celebrate it back in Monatial.” Emberlia reseponded. “I’m from Monatial, in the quadrant of Chilanque, on the floating island of Islay.” She explained.
Nuell had been listening intently to what Emberlia said about this Monatila, finding fascination for this place that he had to imagine in his mind. The fact that you also required teleportation crystals was also quite intriguing to Nuell. Where he was from, those types of crystals were always hard to get one's hands on in any fashion unless you were well off.

A knock came at the door, and Nuell looked to the newcomer before rubbing at the back of his neck. He felt more sheepish than he usually did, though he allowed for the other two to speak without interruption. Nuell took this opportunity to look around a little more and taken in the decorations as well as the location. He simply listened for now, listening as Emberlia talked again about where she was from, and listening to Aydr as he introduced himself.

"Ah... I should get going soon," Nuell spoke up, looking between both individuals there. However, Nuell kept more focus on Aydr shortly after speaking up; "sorry that we didn't get to formally meet."

Nuell turned again to Emberlia, "and sorry for not formally introducing myself. It was a pleasure to speak with you this evening, miss. I am Nuell Litthus. May our paths cross again."
Emberlia jumped a bit as she heard the voice. She then remembered how Nuell was there. After a few seconds her head turned to him and a small frown replaced her smile.

“Must you really go? Why don’t you join us for the little gathering?” The elf both inquired and suggested. She was a little upset that he was leaving so soon, for she had never really had much friends due to her life.

The ears that dropped downward seemed to go down even more, a sign of sadness. The shimmer started leaving her eyes, very slowly.

Aydr met Nuell's gaze and did not falter. His crimson eyes shined as bright as the light they reflected, but not as luminous as their reflection would be under bare moonlight.

"This is a festival, isn't it?" The dark elf's neck tightened and his shoulders pushed back. His head tilted slightly to the right. "Surely there is room for three or four people at a celebration."

The drow started to cross his arms, but resisted the urge. Aydr hoped to meet and interact with many people from all over. He was confused, just a bit. Was this a private party he crashed? It didn't appear to be from what the drow had read. He finally turned his gaze back to the host.

"I've brought a gift for everyone", Aydr said as his lips twisted into a smirk. The look behind his eyes was friendly enough. His left hand had been behind his back for this entire, short time.
It was true that, as a drifter, Nuell actually had very few places of interest that he really should have been at at this current time. Not to mention that Emberlia's expression seemed to tug at his heartstrings briefly as he looked to her, and then back to Aydr. Bringing a hand to his chin in thought, Nuell's floppy ears flicked a couple of times, as if he were having difficulty choosing what to do at this current juncture.

Shaking his head with a bit of a chuckle, Nuell then shrugged and said: "I guess I could stay a tad longer. It would be rude of me to walk out before the night even began. And I can't say I could forgive myself to see someone who treated me so kindly and shared with me in pleasantries become saddened by my premature departure."

Looking to Aydr, however, Nuell raised his brow in question. He was interested in what this 'gift' was that he was talking about.
At the sound of those words the now dull pink eyes immediately gained their shimmer back. The frown disappeared and a huge smile quickly replaced it.

“Yay! Come inside, please please!” She gestured for Nuell to enter. She then redirected her attention back to Aydr. One of her pinkish eyebrows raising in curiosity.

“What type of gifts did you bring?” Emberlia inquired, leaving forward a bit. Curiosity was laced within her voice, and her eyes were shimmering with both joy and excitement.
