The slow progress of Groups continues today with a much lusted-after new feature, the top secret group.Up until now, the only method of keeping a group private was removing it from the public listings. But if someone acquired the link to your group from another source, they could still view the group profile (minus members-only forums). With this new setting, you can take your private groups into total stealth mode. Top secret groups are only visible to members, and prospective members who have received specific invitations*.
A new method of customizing your group appearance also went live today. Modeled after the point-and-click customizer designed for Epic users to prettify their own profiles, the new system for groups is a huge step up in ease and clarity. Please be certain to report any bugs you may find, so I can make it better for everyone. Thanks for your patience while this was under development!
* Site Admins (me!) can still view your group to investigate bug reports, complaints of site policy breaches, or reports of illegal activity. Don't worry, I'll be discreet if you need my help.
