Moon Drop could have easily used her own magic to keep herself from being hit, but where was the fun in that? This was a game, not a fight. She decided to let it be, allowing any snowballs to hit if their aim was true. Though that didn't mean she wouldn't attempt to duck and dodge if she saw them.
She took a hit from Zechs, to which she fired back one of her own.

Diving behind the pile of snowballs, Cris quickly reached out to grab one and held it in her hand, waiting the right moment. Then, as soon as Moon Drop turned to fire back at Zechs, she peeked out of her hiding place, took aim and threw her projectile. "Raygun revenge!" she called out playfully.
Oh no, his chosen athlete was losing! Malachite cheered them both on regardless, "Go, Go, Go!"
He was mindful not to be too obnoxious, not desiring to ruin the evening of his fellow guests. As he waited for the race to end, he slyly grabbed a snowball from the ground nearby- scanning his surroundings for someone to throw it at. Hmm.. he needed help deciding.
"Hey- I don't know your name but you seem pretty smart." he whispered to Chiara, as if he was on a top-secret mission and she were his supervisor. "Who should I throw this snowball at?"

The snow hit the back of her head, mixing into her silver hair but not melting - her body was much too cold for it to melt - and she grinned a little wider. The shade tossed a snowball back at the fox-masked individual.
Grinning, her enthusiasm a mirror of a younger age when she had been a reckless little pirate, Cris ducked as the counter-attack from Moon Drop flew toward her. "Hah! Missed! You can do better than that", she called out, reaching for a new snowball.
Chiara's attention had been almost completely swayed from the race, even if with the corner of her eye she was still surveying Piemyth and Ollie - but now there were snowballs flying all over and it looked like so much fun! When Mr Malachite spoke to her, she turned and thought it over. "Hmm..." She thought it over and then pointed toward Moon Drop. "Her! The one pelting my mum!" It only made sense to bring reinforcements!

With a curve of her finger, Moon Drop used a bit of her magic to make the snowball curve and strike Chiara in the back of the head. She wouldn't use her magic to dodge, but she had made no promises of refraining for throwing.
Malachite nodded, expression all serious as if this were a real conflict. "got it, boss."
He stood up tall, closely peering at Moon Drop for a moment. Once he saw the perfect opportunity he took it; throwing a snowball at her face. vengeance!
Shortly after, though, he noticed Moon Drop throw a snowball at his new friend. Malachite was APALLED! he grabbed another two snowballs, throwing them both at Moon Drop.

The Duchess went and stood near the table that held her rose under the glass dome, gazing down sadly at the flower. It was deeply wilted now, and beginning to lose some of its petals. Just outside the party, what had been gently falling snow was now intensifying, shrinking the warm and safe area for the party to take place inside of, pushing the attendees into a tighter space and closer together, even as the snowball piles started to see greater utilization.
The little fox-girl gave in a yielping laugh as she felt a snowball hit the back of her head, fragmenting into ice crystals that clung to her fur like as many real snowflakes. "I'll get ya!" she exclaimed, running at her mum and Mr Malachite's side and grabbing a snowball too; now a team of three, their snowballs flew toward Moon Drop in a haphazard flurry of snow!
As Piemyth flew over the cape serving as a makeshift finish line, they looked over at Chiara only to see she was now focused on the growing snowball fight. More than a little irritated that their victory had gone mostly unnoticed, Piemyth flew back to Tairloth's side, who thankfully had not been so easily distracted.
"Here you go buddy!" Tairloth said reassuringly as she handed them some samples from the buffet table "You earned them for that win!" With her free hand, she grabbed one of the snowballs and, deciding to side with Piemyth's new friend, also threw it at Moon Drop

That little grin didn't leave her face as she ducked behind a tree. The snow and cold didn't bother her seeing as she was a being held together with winter magic, but she strayed closer to the warm area anyways almost instinctively anyways. She took a few hits but threw her own snowballs in retaliation. Occasionally, she used magic to ensure the ball hit the intended target, but not every time.
Ollie trotted over to the pile of snowballs and attempted to pick one up in his mouth. It crumbled and melted in his jaw. Confused, he tried to pick up another. Oh no! These balls were cursed! It was impossible to pick them up. Whimpering, he frantically tried to grab them all, chomping away at the snow.
Seeing the dog's plight, Moon Drop waved a hand, making a snowball firmer and able to be grabbed in his maw without it crushing or melting.
"Here you are, pup."
"Here you are, pup."
Ollie joyfully took the offered magiced snowball, and then promptly dropped it at Moon Drop's feet, sitting politely and looking up at her with a wagging tail. Hopefully this nice lady would also throw the ball!
He whirled around to see who had won the improntu race- Spying Piemyth as they crossed the finish line. "Wooohoo! congrats! you win.. uh.. a snowball fight!"
Malachite turned back towards the action, pleased to see Ollie had distracted their opponent. He used this opportunity to throw another snowball at Moon Drop.

Seeing no harm in humoring the dog, she picked it up and tossed it for Ollie.
"Go fetch."
"Go fetch."
Malachite's throw hit her shoulder, snow splattering against her light blue cloak. Chuckling, she threw one back, aiming for his chest since it was center-mass.
"Win?" Chiara turned around curiously. "Who win?" At the sight of Piemyth eating the treats from the buffet, she beamed: "Oooh!! Pie-Pie, YOU were the fastest!! Three hooray for Pie-" She was interrupted by a new snowball that again whacked the back of her head, and yielped; swiftly she turned around and threw a new one at Moon Drop. But, being shorter than everyone in the snowball fight, her missile didn't hit home; it DID hit the snowball aimed for Mr. Malachite, though, and the two snowballs crumbled against each other. "Wooohoo!"
As more petals fell from the rose, some gentle snow even began falling on the dance floor itself, cloaking the party in a white haze. Better cover for a snowball fight, or the gentle drawing to a close of the night's party? It was time for everyone to get their final shots in!
Malachite was shocked by Chiara's throw, genuinely impressed by how it had collided with another snowball. "Woah! We've got a snow ball master in our midst!"
He grinned, picking up another snowball and looking around for someone else to throw it at... Maybe.. Ollie! He threw the snowball at the silly doggy.
