Hello! Decently experienced GM here looking for new spots to run in, as of me writing this post there's been a rather concerning announcement on Discord regarding their new age verification protocols (which I believe is a great loss of privacy and safety considering recent data breaches), thus I find myself here, rather impressed by the general soul of the website! From a first glance I can already appreciate the cohesive aesthetic employed here while the rest of the internet falls into homogeneous mundanity.

As for me personally, I'm Nebs, I much prefer GMing (with dice and sheets!) over actually roleplaying a single character and I hope to mainly get a good feel of the forum type format (along with the rest of the site for reference).

I do have a few ideas on how to utilize this account (if I do go through with using this site) though, mainly being turning my "characters" into setting books that detail their worlds, types of campaigns possible within them, current active campaigns and parties.

The system I am most focused on at the moment is GURPS and it will continue to be that way for quite some time (I like it, d6s over d20s any day).

Oh and as for genres I like writing in, modern is my preferred, though I've been preparing for sci-fi lately (and I'm unopposed to noir as well, lots of ideas for that one)!

Welcome to RPR! I was also previously an avid discord user but I'm now considering completely deleting my account with that abhorent update they have planned. Been trying to convince my friend who's also a GM to look for new sites to run his campaigns on.
I'm sure you will find some people willing to join your own campaigns here!

Cool, I like TTRPG's too. I'm looking to expand on/emphasize the roleplay aspect here more than I get to in other mediums, though I haven't quite started anything yet. Not familiar with the GURPS system, and don't usually play modern, but I'm open to explore and be flexible. Feel free to DM me or otherwise get my attention if/when you open up a campaign of sorts- I may be interested.

Thank you for the welcome! I've been feeling similar, the worst part is that it isn't even mandated by the government, they could've limited it to the UK and Australia and called it a day, nobody asked them to go global with it.

It's more likely I simply leave my contact details on my account and never open it again though, it'd be saddening to leave folk who might've wanted to reach out with no way to otherwise (though deletion is very valid too).

And I hope the convincing goes well! I don't need much to GM and liked the looks of this site, so I figured I might as well consider running here!

I actually do also prefer an emphasis on the roleplaying/narrative side of the hobby! It's why I'm here rather than a more specialized TTRPG forum (not to say the average user there would be worse at those aspects), it's just that I also have pretty bad hangups regarding conflict resolution and consistency in one's feats / the mechanics of the world, a solid rule set does a lot to alleviate this (for me).

GURPS (Generic Universal Role Playing System) is a pretty robust TTRPG with a focus on offering so many options that it'd be impossible for one to unable build something within it, both in terms of campaigns and characters. I enjoy it greatly due to its focus on character options and being rather believable mechanically, if something works one particular way in real it'd probably work the same in GURPS (with the exception of supernatural abilities that is, which we can't really reference).

I'll keep you right in mind if I do open a campaign here!
